We found ourselves in the position to need an assisted living homes for my mother. We visited at many assisted living homes in Kanawha County and found that Brookdale Charleston Gardens was the perfect fit for my mother. The staff members were engaged, kind and friendly. They had a variety of activities offered throughout the day for those who want to participate. I heard nothing but great things about the food that was prepared for the residents. The management team was very approachable when I had many questions to ask. They also have a nurse on staff 24 hours a day, which is very important to us to monitor our mother as needed. My mother has been at Brookdale Charleston Gardens for two and a half months, and we feel very fortunate that we have found a new home for our mother to meet her every changing needs.

I visited this facility 2 years ago looking for a place for my Mom and Dad. I was impressed with the cleanness of the facility. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I liked all the activities that were planned for the residents. Due to personal reasons It did not work out for my parents to move there.In July, 2020, I checked back with Brookdale about my parents moving in. Due to Covid 19 we were not able to visit the facility, but were able to meet with the staff in the Courtyard. We worked everything out and my parents moved in within a couple weeks. It has be difficult due to Covid 19, but the staff have done their best to work with us. We are hopeful the Covid pandemic will pass so they can get back to their normal routines and activities. They are doing their best to keep the residents safe from the Virus.

we are so pleased with the care our loved one receives at charleston gardens… The professionalism and commitment from management and direct care staff are extraordinary...from day one, the lines of communication have always been open...they respond in a timely manner to any questions or suggestions..they strive to meet every need and want you to feel confident that your family member is receiving the very best care they can provide...they also care about the facility and grounds...always seasonally decorated, beautifully landscaped and VERY clean...theres a sense of comfort and home...if youre looking for a safe, caring, well maintained, professional facility in the West Virginia area, brookedale charleston gardens checks all the boxes...our loved one not only lives here, but thrives here...we are so happy shes part of the brookedale family!...

Working in the healthcare industry for 15 plus years and visiting this community numerous times, I would highly recommend Brookdale Charleston Gardens for your loved ones. The facility is always clean and staff is very friendly. There are always activities going on for the residents, especially through Covid this is a necessity for socialization. They go above and beyond!!!

My mother has resided at Brookdale Charleston Gardens since September 2017, and she moved into their Memory Care wing in January of 2020. I am especially pleased with the care and attention she has received in Memory Care. While it is a bit sad that I cant see her in person and hug her during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is outweighed by the fact that Charleston Gardens has been able to keep their residents healthy and safe as a result of their stringently implemented pandemic policies. I have been able to visit with my mother via electronic device and, when I was in town over Labor Day weekend, through a window. Her dementia has progressed to the point that she is very in the moment and happy, with the pandemic having minimal effect on her, for which I am grateful. I may be sad at her decline, but she is well-cared for and happy, and thats what counts. RICH SCHARF

My mom has resided at Brookdale Charleston Gardens for almost 2 years. I am extremely pleased with the quality of care and excellent services she has received. She enjoys participating in a variety of activities available and especially loves breakfast. The staff has been wonderful in all aspects from each department. The facility leadership and staff are very kind, caring, and always helpful. I have peace of mind knowing that mom is being well cared for around the clock which is priceless. As the owner of AMADA Senior Care I have had several clients move into this community when it wasnt safe for the client to be at home without full time care. Everyone Ive dealt with at Charleston Gardens has been professional and kind, however my main point of contact is their sales manager Lisa Pauley. She is always quick to contact families, she goes above and beyond to accomodate their needs and is able to get them moved in quickly if theres a need for immediate care. My clients are thriving under the excellent care of the staff at Charleston Gardens!

I recently was at this community looking for a place for my mother-in-law. The staff was so nice and pleasant. The community was very clean and smelled wonderful. There were several activities that took place during my visit, refreshing since she does need socialization. I looking forward to placing my mother-in-law here.

Just wanted to say thank you to the staff of Charleston Gardens for the care you gave to my mom and dad for the last almost 3 years. Special thanks to Denise for her gentle care of our mom. It meant a lot. Mom passed away in February and dad stayed there until we recently moved him to be closer to more of our family in Louisiana. It was hard for him to leave the friends he had made while at Charleston Gardens. Thank you again for the help and care shown to our parents.
