I always have such a good time with all the residents and staff when I visit my mom. They are so caring and kind to my mom and all the other residents. They will call me whenever they think mom might have something wrong with her health. At 96 it's always good to catch health issues early. Always a lot going on, and that is what mom likes.

Staff are always very kind and helpful and appear to take great care of the hospice client I visit weekly. They in fact were graciously caring to his needs while I last visited him and I could hear their pleasant friendly tone with him even without knowing I was listening in.

THE WATERFORD @HARTFORD IS AT IT AGAIN. THEY ARE ALWAYS KEEPING THINGS INTERESTING FOR THEIR RESIDENTS. TODAY WE WERE VISITING MY MOTHER AND THEY HAD ANIMAL PRESENTATION FOR THEM. THEY KEEP EVERYONE INTRESTED WITH SMALL ANIMALS AND LET THEM ASK QUESTIONS AND TOUCH OR HOLD THEM.

recently started working with this facility and it has been a great experience so far! The staff and residents are both extremely friendly and helpful! The hiring process was a little lengthy due to the steps taken to ensure I was a good fit (background check, full physical exam, TB screening, etc). The training was very extensive (learned how to properly wash and sanitize hands, proper use of PPE, procedures on emergency situations, procedures on accidental falls-slips, how to evacuate the building properly, etc.) I was also trained on topics such as Dementia and Alzheimers care, HIPAA laws, information about mental disorders, visual-hearing impairment, how to communicate effectively with senior citizens in assisted living, safe food handling, etc. Continuing education is required for my position as well. Certification is obviously required for any professional that deals with medications. I have never done this type of work before so I was very nervous to start! Lacie trained me very well and made me feel like I was catching on quickly. She did such an amazing job showing me the proper procedures for certain tasks that Ill be doing on a regular basis in Assisted Living. The residents really seem to care for her and love her! Thanks Lacie for the informative, fun training! My supervisor Jen was very thoughtful in making sure I was prepared to work independently once training was done. She made me checklists and cheat sheets so that I always have an outline as to what my shift should look like. She guaranteed me that if I ever have any questions about anything, that all I have to do is ask and someone will help. She also gave me advice on how to work well with others when it comes to this type of job. Her long-term experience here definitely shows as she taught me little tricks on how to do this job successfully. For anyone considering this home for themselves or for a loved one, take the time to tour the building and meet the staff! The residents are outgoing and kind, they have tons of opportunities to participate In social-recreational activities which are held Monday through Friday, they are provided nutritious meals, provided adorable apartments that are clean and safe. And they are provided with knowledgeable staff around the clock that genuinely cares for their well-being, health, condition, safety and security. Staff interacts with residents frequently throughout the day ensuring their daily living needs are met and that they are as comfortable as possible. However, you do have the option of being very independent! The resident (or whoever is legally responsible for the resident) still has the capacity to voice their questions, concerns, suggestions, likes and dislikes, etc. Basic rights are not taken away from the resident just because they need assistance with things. Staff is present to listen to what you have to say whether it be something very small or whether its a major situation in your life. The nursing team is also there to listen to residents vent about their frustrations, be a shoulder to cry on, be a person to hug when you feel blue, ask questions about things youre unsure of, celebrate achievements and successes, etc. Encourage your loved one to form close relationships with other residents and staff as well. No need to be shy, this is our home! I would also encourage residents to participate in daily activities in attempts at keeping their brain attentive and alert. This also helps with their emotional wellness and keeps mental health disorders like Depression or Anxiety in remission. I appreciate The Waterford giving me the opportunity to help others! Thank you Nicole for interviewing me and seeing my potential. I look forward to forming closer relationships with the residents and staff, as I intend to be with this company long-term. I cant wait to share my thoughts with management as I believe I have fun, innovative ideas for this facility and its residents. I just hope the residents enjoy my company as much as I enjoy theirs! I love sharing my experiences and strengths with other people

This place is amazing and so are the employees. My mom spent the last 6 months of her life living here in the Memory Care unit. The nurses and CNAs are wonderful, caring people and they treated my mom and me like family. The facility is very clean and kept up well. The Director Andrea is awesome and was always available when I needed something. I would not hesitate to bring your loved one to this facility. It is a great place.

My aunt was in Assisted Living for more than one year. All the caregivers where wonderful. I was moving her to the East Troy area and gave her 30 days notice. Due to covid her new place could not get her apartment carpeted. I kept the Waterford informed throughout the whole process. However soon after the 30 days Andrea the director wanted her gone because they rented her room to another. They threatened to move her to a shared room with a Memory Care resident. She told them she did not want that and I told them she did not want that. We ended up moving her temporarily to a facility in East Troy. Up until this last incident things were fine. But the way they treated my 91 year old aunt was inexcusable. People treat animals better than they treated my aunt.

I am employed at the Waterford at Hartford and it is the best Care Giving facilities in Hartford. We the staff work as a team and thrive to make sure the residents know how important they are to us and that we are there for them no matter what. We always put the residents first and do what it takes to make sure they are cared for as we would want to be cared for if it was us or one of our family members.
