My dad knew when he walked in for the first visit that Sunrise of Mercer Island was where he wanted to be. He often says Sunrise is his home and the residents and staff are his family. His joy is strong and consistent. He often says of Sunrise “it just gets better and better.” He loves the diversity of the staff and learning about where they’re from. He loves the food and the activities. The community surrounding Sunrise of Mercer Island is amazing and my dad loves the views and his walks on the surrounding trails and in the neighborhoods. I wanted for my dad a place that he would love, as well as a place his grandkids felt comfortable visiting. Sunrise is it! We love the coziness of the room, the home like feel of the community space and the wrap around porch with amazing views. Of course we all love Moose, the community dog, who instantly makes you feel at home when he greets you.

Sunrise of Mercer Island was recommended to me by a friend who happens to work for a senior placement company called 'A Place for Mom'. In addition, a friend of my wife had used Sunrise of Mercer Island to provide care for her aging mother, and she said that there care there had been excellent. My impressions are that all of the staff here are friendly, knowledgeable, and very competent care providers. The apartments are clean, and there is a robust activity schedule for my dad. Everyone has been helpful, and I feel that my dad is in very capable hands.

My mother moved into Sunrise of Mercer Island in March of 2020 right at the beginning of the pandemic. It was a scary time for her because of dementia and a debilitating stroke. From the moment she moved in everyone at Sunrise was so kind and caring. They were very transparent with Covid updates and precautions they were taking. I felt very comfortable calling them at any time for updates on my mom’s care. Sunrise set up group conference calls for anyone that wanted to join in and talk about how our loved ones were doing. I feel comfortable calling anytime, they are always friendly and helpful. The facility is very home like and spotlessly clean. Very nice that the hair stylist and dining room back open along with group activities. Thank you Sunrise for taking such great care of my mom.

We reluctantly had to move our mom to an assisted living facility after being in her home for nearly 70 years. This place just felt right from the moment we made our first contact to inquire about moving mom there. We definitely made the right choice. The staff at Sunrise Mercer Island made the move so easy, even during the COVID pandemic, and our mom has actually said shes having a ball! Every time I talk with her on the phone she mentions how wonderful and nice the staff is, and my siblings and I can rest easy knowing our mom is in excellent hands getting the best of care. Would highly recommend this place to anyone facing the difficult decision of placing a loved one.

The staff and caregivers are always so wonderful and attentive, and during the pandemic they have been excellent in communicating their procedures to us and providing video chat calls with our loved one. This is the second home my mom has lived in, and I am so happy with my choice.

My 93 year old father sent several months at Sunrise of Mercer Island. The staff at Sunrise were very friendly and helpful. They took great care of my Dad and he he was very happy at Sunrise. The staff at sunrise were always friendly and smiling. The always greeted me with a smile and a hello. I highly recommend Sunrise of Mercer Island.

This place is so far my first choice. The size, the bridge from assisted to memory care and personal caregiver attention are all strong. It's got more of a home feeling. The only negative is the size of the studio available--very very small

Not what it once was. This facility has made some INEXCUSABLE errors (more than once) in dispensing prescription medications that has caused our parent completely preventable traumatic health issues. Review written 2018 The facility is decorated nicely, that is a plus, but quality of care and proper administration of medications are much more important to us.

The staff is wonderful! They take excellent care of my mother and I am very happy with her care . I do not agree that everything is covered in the cost of the room, though- which is extremely expensive. You pay a cable bill, which to me is just silly- for the cost at thevery least throw in the cable ! Then the cost of care is adjusted as your parent gets more needy- also you pay a daily med fee. It's all in the monthly total, but it will go up unless your parent gets less dependent. Sunrise is friendly, loving, clean and caring. You get what you pay for - the staff take time w / the residents, too. I looked at a LOT of places. My mom 's happy and so am I 🙂 Choose a place carefully.
