My sister spent over two months at The Oaks at Lakewood and the care she received was truly exceptional. While our family was initially skeptical ” everyone has heard stories of neglect in care facilities, right? ” The Oaks quickly proved themselves to be different. From the CNAs to the doctors on rounds, and every staff beyond and in between, the professionalism, warmth, and respect shown to my sister was unwavering. The administrative team was equally competent and supportive. It was clear she was never treated as just another patient, but cared for as an individual with dignity and compassion. There are too many names to name, and I don’t want to leave anyone out. However, every single staff member was an integral part of her team. The facility itself was spotless, and the food options were flexible and enjoyable ” my sister genuinely loved the choices, including the optional sandwich menu and shrimp Mondays was always a special treat. While she never joined in on Bingo or Karaoke night or any of the recreational activities, it was a fun thought that she could. That level of dedication made her stay not only reassuring but also memorable. If I need care, I will consider leaving Seattle to stay at The Oaks. I am deeply grateful for the outstanding care provided. The Oaks in Lakewood deserves recognition for creating an environment where patients feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. I’m sure my sister was not an exception. (As a bonus, it was always fun to wheel sister outside to look to see if Milo, the cat happened to be nesting in his condo).

I actually think you guys are wonderful, and I tell all my friends. My. Senior citizen friends that if they ever have to go somewhere. Try you guys first. My wife was there for over month. I got a brother there Art William and One of our spiritual sister. was there. And you guys was wonderful even now. When I come in to visited, they'll push me down to the brother's room and then bring me back. I really appreciate that. if I had to rate you guys from one to a 100 I give you a 100AA. We went to visit a very dear friend. Upon arrival, we were not sure of the checkin procedures but the lady at the desk answered all of our questions and guided us through the process, including sharing with us the room number where our friend was staying. Upon arriving at her room, we learned from her husband that she was at physical therapy. When we all headed down to the PT room, the therapist gave one last exercise and told her that she could return to her room to enjoy her visit with her friend. Also, this facility is very clean and appears to be well staffed.

I was looking at rehabilitation centers for our mom. I looked at few some I couldn't get out of fast enough dyevto smell of neglect. When I got to the Oaks at Lakewood I was impressed with the check in for visitors. Then I was taken on a tour. No smells plus # 2. I saw the dinning room, patient rooms, activity areas, the gym and the public restrooms were clean. I asked if mom can have many visitors throughout the day, when my tour guide say yes I told her I'll discuss with my family. We all decided this is the short term place for mom to get her on her feet an back home.

As soon as you walk in you know you've arrived at the right place for your loved one. I've been to several facilities over the years for my mom. And this one had energy, fresh smell and a sense of positivity that was reflected in ever inch. Everyone said hello, patients seemed happy. The in processing was top notch and informative. Great care was taken to answer all questions and make my mom comfortable. We arrived at lunch time and they made sure they ordered her a meal so she could eat. I highly recommend you consider this facitly for your loved ones needs.

Visiting the oaks for me today and the many many times before, has been a blessing because someone I Love is there, the staff on every level regardless to how busy or overwhelmed they are still take the time out to check on you as a visitor, or family member they are caring and they take time to address what issues you may have or concerns. as a resident and or family member as well as an employee. My mom was sent there after an 8 day hospital stay.GeorgiaWithin the administration wasVery efficient.She was helpful and kind. Nancy at the front desk was also great. The nursing staff not so much. Many of them seemed put out to help. Some where downright rude. Many times when my mom needed something while I was there they were too busy on their phones playing games and texting. Mom said many of them were very rough with her. Not ever going back.

My mom has been a resident for about a week. The staff are pleasant but really understaffed. Average wait time on a call light is 30 minutes, that part stresses me out greatly because this could be very dangerous for some residents. My mom is there due to respiratory failure. She has a concentrator that assists her with oxygen. Her machine kept alarming and then eventually turned off. She pressed her call light, machine was alarming, and calling for help with what breathe she had left and still no help came. I pray the staff read these reviews and take them to heart. Think.this could be your loved one in this permanent/ temporary position. I pray you’ll get more staff to carry this load. Please understand answering the call light reassures the patient they are NOT alone.

The place is decent but understaffed. The care manager is awesome but when she is not around good luck getting what the patient need. Some of the CNAs are good too but isn't enough. Patients are scheduled to shower twice a week but if it falls on a day the place does not have enough personnel it will stay smelly until his/hers next scheduled bath. Cross fingers for them not to be understaff that day again. Usually takes 30 minutes approximately for someone to answer the call light during the day; at night patients can use it as a hallway lamp. Therapies are outstanding but when short staffed the outsource therapist will improvise with the patient to check the block. Patients needs to keep and eye on cleaning personnel so they can call them to come and clean because if not they wont clean the room. I used to take the trash out myself from the room until a CNA noticed it and she started doing it but never the maintenance personnel. Maintenance is another issue. The room sink started to leak and instead of fixing it they placed a bucket to catch the water then when told they will emptied it out in the toilet. It was like that for our entire 4 weeks stay. Truth to be told, they need to strive harder.

The staff and care at this facility has been incredible. The director of nursing knows her patients by name and is a master at the challenge of running a skilled nursing home and all that is involved. While things aren’t ever perfect in these types of places, they work tirelessly to make sure our family is as comfortable and happy as possible in a less than desirable circumstance. The food is pretty good, and the administrator is always available when we have items to discuss. I would not hesitate to bring my parents here for care if we ever need it again.

This building shows it has gone through a huge growth spurt since becoming The Oaks. Honestly, disregard the terrible negative reviews. Management is very caring about their staff and patients and you can see it as soon as you walk-in. Highly suggest coming in to tour before making judgement based on past reviews. Word around the street is that they're in process of giving the facility a major cosmetic update as well!
