It is not easy to find a place that is a good fit for a loved one. Especially one that is fiercely independent. Mom and I went scouting for one about a year ago after numerous falls that made her realize she needed a place that treats her like family. Woodland is such a place. Because of Parkinson’s, she is not able to speak well but she is observant. She first moved into an independent apartment where she was able to have her own kitchen and washer and drier. If she needed anything maintenance wise, they would respond in a timely manner. Because of her limited speech, she would address the concerns to me and I would be an advocate for her. The staff is very responsive to me in such a positive manner. Just be consistent for what you need for your loved one and the staff will appreciate it. After about six months, it was apparent to the family and to mom that she needed a bit more care so with the help of an amazing care staff, mom moved into an assisted living apartment. I like the fact that there are levels of care and you pay accordingly. This is added to the rent already set. Gabriella, the director, communicates on a regular bases with me and mom of her needs. Her plan is looked over every 90 days (or sooner if need be) to see if it needs to be adjusted. I am pleased Mom is in Woodland. They have helped and assisted our family to make sure Mom is comfortable and taken care of. They will do whatever they can, you just need to ask. Mom had COVID and the staff made sure she was taken care of with food delivered to her door and a standby nurse if needed. There are activities one could do at Woodland and there are transportation on a regular bases to the grocery store. There are weekly outings to parks or festivals or fairs if one wishes to. The meals are ok and are constantly improving. Mom and I have voiced our opinions and they have been listening and shared our concerns with the chef and his staff. New and improved menus have been added but it is a work in progress. Overall, my independent, observant Mom is in good hands at Woodland.

I have lived here for just over three years. I hated leaving my home, but I realized I could no longer live alone. I feel that the staff do their very best to make this a "home" for us by taking care to do special things on holidays, always greeting us by name. This is especially nice for people like me who do not have family near. There are activities for us - card games which I love - knitting group, genealogy group, and a van/bus which takes us various places for entertainment. It is not perfect - none of the maybe 50 places I have lived in my life have been - but I am very comfortable living here; a friend of mine here said what she liked best is she felt safe. I do that, too.

I moved into Woodland nearly six months ago. What struck me most was the building itself. It.is spacious, luxuious to my mind, and very tastefully appointed. The apartments are largeand have a kitchenette sans range in the studios. I liived in both Assisted Living facilities and Group Homes previously. Woodland earns five stars for several reasons. First, because of its staff. They are inviting, very curtious, and in tune with older adults. Second, are the activities. There are a plethora of activities to entertain any senior. There is even a movie room that shows a variety of titles shown twice a day--with popcorn. Third is the food. There is an ambitious menu. Variety is the key. You can have breakfast for dinner or lunch for supper. Hamburgers and cheeseburgers for breakfast if desired. Additionally, there is a Soup and Salad bar. If lighter fair is desired, it is available at both lunch and dinner. Service of meals is via wait staff who ALWAYS smile no matter the request. If the issue cannot be solve by them, it's brought to the Executive chef immediately The executive chef is always open to criticisim to impove service, changes in, or additions to the menu. Food is available twenty four hours a day. Lastly, are pets. Pets are welcome at Woodland. Woodland a pet friendly community. There are many other reasons to pick Woodland. We have been here for several months now, and are very happy. Met many nice people living here. The employees are really terrific and so helpful. Food is really good and lots of activities available. There has been a few changes in staff but everyone is great from maintenance, housekeeping, food service.

Anyone who has been through the experience of locating assisted living for a loved one knows how crazy stressful it can be. LuAnn Pascucci of Woodland at Bonaventure was a beacon in the sea of havoc I recently found myself. I was very touched by her kindness and immediate willingness to help. She arranged a tour of the facilities that same day and was key in my decision that this would be a great place for my big brother. We are very pleased with the care and compassion he is receiving there. I am so grateful to you, LuAnn!!

This place is perfect for me allowing me to be back home in Lacey Olympia area and be with my support group, which is my softball teammates and friends. My heart is full.

The food is terrible, residents are told the menu is controlled by corporate office. They are raising the rent but are providing fewer services. They schedule activities with no one to facilitate them. They had constant turnover in directors - 5 in the past 2.5 years. They can't keep staff. Some staff steal from the residents. I'm hoping to find another place for my mother.

My Wife and I were looking for a assistant living for my mother-in-law, and a friend was telling me about Woodland by Bonaventure. We get the chance to see the community and meet the stuff that work there, and woodland by Bonaventure is just beautifully. my Mother-in-Law just love all the things that would be available for her to do and since my friend mother is live in the community there also she looking forward to spending time with her.

My mother loves her apartment here and the residents. The management staff has constant turnover and is very unorganized. My mom wanted to get tested for covid due to a cough she had but they did not have any tests. Then they said they found some and would be up to her room within 30 minutes. No one showed up. They did not offer to go buy any but said she could. She tested positive two days later.was suppose to have meals delivered to her room - none came the first night. No quarantine sign was put on her door and no apologies were given for anything.

This last Fall, my mother and I had come to the agreement that it was time for her to move into assisted living. After a couple of tours from other facilities, we checked out Woodland, thinking that there was no way Mom would be able to afford this place because it was so well put together, it felt like a five star Hotel when we walked in. We met with Jennifer, the Director, and instantly connected with her. She showed us around, explained everything and answered all our questions. My Mother absolutely loved it here, she was able to pick her room and they installed a ceiling fan for her in her bedroom per her request. I cannot say enough about the entire staff, all have been extremely nice and compassionate to my mother and her needs, and also to me, as I was there almost every day. It was very important to me to put my mom in the best place I could find because my mom went through this with her parents and it wasn't all good for them, so I feel very lucky to have had Woodland just down the street from where mom lived. I realize that no facility is going to be perfect, but Jennifer, Elizabeth, Courtney, Kayla, and the entire staff give it their best to make sure we all felt at home. Unfortunately, my mother passed and I will truly miss all of them. Oh, and one thing, my mom was all about chocolate and deserts.....and she always said to me how good their deserts are here! Again, thank you Woodland for being part of my mother's life,..and mine. Doug.

When looking for the perfect facility I went to a number of facilities for my parents. I accidentally turned into what I thought was the next door facility because I had already gone there and picked out a room. I had a check in my hand to hold that room. I was met by Kayla whom I asked, oh this is not the right building. She said, well check ours out too. I said sure I didn't know there was another building here. I immediately said wow I love the feeling here it was a smaller facility which I thought my parents would love the homey feeling more. It smelled good from the front door throughout which was a big deal for me. I met Courtney the activity director Jennifer the manager and a few others. They answered my questions I saw a sweet apartment which over looks the court yard and garden area. I instantly fell in love with Woodland. My mom loves to be active so Courtney was a huge key to my decision. I loved her right off the bat with all that she is and does for the residents!! Needless to say my check for the other building went to Woodland. It has been 5 months now and my parents are loving the other residents and have made many friends already, the staff are also so kind and helpful. They love where they live and are cozied into their life now at Woodland. Most important for me, their daughter, I have the peace of mind knowing that they are taken care of and Woodland has them even through our busy lives. Best decision we as a family made with them and for them. Thank you Woodland

Their activites are alwasy fun and engaging and they are wonderful about inviting family members to participate as well. We have family who moved in several months ago and we visit every few weeks from out of town. We have enjoyed seeing them settle in and learn to love being there. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. We've eaten a few meals with them and found the food to be very good. The residents for the most part are fun and friendly. Great place !!! Thanks staff for all you do to make your residents transition and enjoy living there.

We had the difficult decision of moving my parents into an assisted living facility, they were 88 and unable to live on their own any longer. We were set to tour several facilities but after touring the Woodlands we found the prefect home for mom and dad. The staff has become like family, they are so caring and they have personalized the care my parents receive. My dad passed away a few months after they moved there and the compassion that the staff showed my family was more than I could imagine. They cried with us, helped us through the process and have been so compassionate with my mom helping her to adjust to her new life without my dad (they were married for almost 70 years). I wish I could give a 10 star rating! I highly recommend the Woodlands to anyone that is looking for an assisted living facility!

Woodland is the place that I would absolutely have a family member move into, the stuff are friendly and they welcome new residents to the community and they work hard to make the transition easter for resident and the residents family members. The residents are happy and really enjoy all that woodland has to offer.
