If I could give zero stars I would. The only good thing about that place was location and the maintenance man. As cute as it looks, the staff that is in charge DO NOT care about your loved one. I went every single day minus 3 days while my mom was there. Once she slept on just the mattress pad even though there were 2 extra set of sheets. I had to ask for them to help bath her. Other peoples clothing were in her room. The food was terrible and not at all like they said on the tour. But the thing that makes them so uncaring, on one of the days I didn’t go because I was coughing, the maintenance man saw me Kroger and said something was wrong with my mom. I went straight there to discover my mom extremely messy and she literally couldn’t form words. I had asked for a UTI check , which they hadn’t done (said they couldn’t get a clean catch even though they had to take her to the bathroom). The head medical guy at the time said he was going to have the PA look at her the next day. I said no- she can’t speak- it’s like she has a UTI. He asked if I wanted 911 called . I said of course. Turned out she needed full oxygen and had double pneumonia. Had I not gone at that moment because of the MAINTENANCE guy, she would have died. She ended up passing away 18 days later . Not once did they call to check on her. And when she passed away, not one of them- even with a meeting to address it, offered condolences.

Avoid at all cost, nothing good to say at all. Your loved one deserves better, keep looking. No matter where you chose, visit often, stay for a meals, watch when/how meds are given, label your laundry, watch fingernail/toenail condition, ask to see records, be involved.

My husband and i toured this facility as a possible place for my mom.This place is dark and sad. No activities happening. People wandering around while staff hang out at front foyer entrance or see them on their laptops. Very few seemed to be working with patients or being of any assistance. I am so glad I left and never looked back. You have to follow your gut and this was a no brainer.

Kara was a DREAM to work with! From the beginning, it was all a breeze. She understood what we needed, and made it happen. She was incredibly responsive, made the rest of the family feel at ease with every decision, and was not a typical pushy sales person. She also walked us through the entire process of memory care for another family member, and was also incredible to work with. She calmed our nerves, had laughs with us, and held moms hand for some really tough decisions when it came to memory care. Thank you, Kara, you have been an angel and Godsend for our family!

The most vile place I have ever been. The staff let's paitents cry out and have bowel moments on themselves while they sit at the desk on their phones!! The rooms are never clean and it seems like in the evening time the stuff just puts the paitents in the TV room with nothing playing. Awful staff and management never have answers. The place looks very nice when you tour it but what you see is not the reality. Might have more luck at brookdale

I moved my mother into Harmony 6 weeks ago and have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and management. Everyone goes out of their way to make the residents feel at home and engaged, and they've helped me tremendously getting through this very difficult and emotional period. My normally anti-social mom has made friends with other residents and enjoys the activities and freedom to walk around the spacious grounds. My family and I have complete peace of mind knowing she's safe, happy, and being well cared for.

My mother was a resident at Harmony Memory Care for almost three years until she recently passed away. I had looked at several places as it became clear she was nearing the need for memory care, and this was by far the best. Another reviewer has outlined some of the procedures and activities which benefit the residents, so I wont repeat. The entire staff has been well trained in Alzheimers and dementia. They are all able to relate beautifully to the residents, from the nurses, housekeeping staff, cooks, and maintenance staff. Residents are greeted by name with a smile when staff members pass by. Residents needs are attended to promptly and kindly. My mother made friends, especially from her hall and dinner companions. Another plus is the presence of occupational, speech, and physical therapists on site every day. Everyone communicated freely with me, and helped me as well as helping my mother. Dementia is tough, and I cant say enough good things about these folks as they helped us along the way.

My husband has been at Harmony Roanoke Memory Care facility since January of 2020. He had been at another local facility for two months prior, and was it quickly obvious that he was not getting the care and attention that he should. The sales manager at Harmony was the facilitator for the support group I was attending, so I met her to tour the place. The atmosphere was dramatically different - peaceful, smiling care givers, smiling residents, social interactions between staff and residents, and even some residents with residents. Meals are served as if the setting is a restaurant. Small tables seating 4 at each, a menu at each table for those who could read, meals served by staff to each person. There are daily activities planned and executed. There is a gathering place called the town center where residents can meet together, and the twice daily snacks are distributed, then brought to any residents who are elsewhere. Theres also a movie theater showing movies daily and the door is always open so anyone can stop in. One of the most meaningful things to me is that every staff member, whether direct care givers, maintenance, housekeeping, administration, activities director, or food preparation knows every resident! They are greeted as they pass through the halls in a very personable way. The care is a team effort! The love and support there is obvious. Placement is certainly a difficult decision, but I am so grateful for the care he is receiving at Harmony. This comfort has been especially important with the restrictions COVID has placed on everyone. While I miss seeing him on a daily basis, I am comforted knowing he is loved and cared for.

My sister is a resident at PR Memory Center and has been very content and happy there. She likes all the staff and feels comfortable with them. She feels like this is her home and likes to help by pushing chairs in, etc. PRMC has been a God-send for me and my family because we know she is safe and well taken care of.
