I appreciate the owner commenting on my previous review. To me, Communication is of the utmost importance. Ishmael did call me with an apology for not responding to my 2 emails and 1phone call to him. We discussed the possibility of the emails going to his spam folder. As for the voice message left, idk. We have worked out a solution where any future communication will be promptly returned. I will be awaiting a follow up on Christine’s visit to the cardiologist on 4/27/26. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014. My mom was his sole care giver. In 2022 we admitted my dad to a nursing home in Warrenton. The care was terrible; I spent most nights crying. There was no other place with an opening to place him, and my mom could no longer care for him. When Birmingham Green called with an opening, we discussed if moving him was the best option. We decided to move him to Birmingham Green because it was closer to home. I was suspicious of Birmingham Green at first. The other nursing home did not clean my dad or his room, they lost everything he owned the first day including a blanket with photos on it, they didn't make sure that he ate or drank and he had bruises with no explanation. His first day at Birmingham Green, they treated him like a human being, they fed him meals that I was jealous of, and they tried to get to know him. I was finally able to sleep when my dad entered Birmingham Green. My dad was a kind and gentle man before Alzheimer's. After Alzheimer's, he became a man that I didn't recognize. He would threaten the nursing staff, throw things, and hit and kick. They would notify us, or we would come when these incidents happened. Many of the staff were afraid of my dad. I didn't blame them. We came to a head when I thought they were trying to move my dad out of the facility, I went in ready to fight. After a heated discussion (mostly me), they trained their staff to deal with his outbursts, and he got to stay. In between my dad's outburst and mine, he was happy there. He would dance with the nurses, wander the halls, and eat every single bite of food off of his plate so that he got a pot belly. The nursing staff was getting to know a different dad than I grew up with and they still loved him. When my dad died, the first place that I went was Birmingham Green to tell the nursing staff because they were his family to. They loved him even though there were times he wasn't that lovable; they cared for him even when he made it difficult, they fed him when he couldn't feed himself and they gave me peace in knowing that he was being taken care of. I know what it means when a bed opens a Birmingham Green. I hope that the next family who gets my dad's room finds the comfort and peace that I have had from the day he moved in.

My mom was at Birmingham Green Nursing home for over 2 and half years. The staff in the Cherry Bloom section in the nursing home was very caring and were always respectful and responsive to her family. I don't recommend you drop off your relatives and not visit them like it appears to me that most people did. By visiting it shows the staff that you care. The staff is under paid but not under appreciated. Aaron the administrator is especially responsive and caring as well.

Birmingham Green was an oasis for my good friend with Alzheimers, diabetes and cancer. I am a former nurse and visited Bill often. If not for this lovely facility, he would have had no place to go. Bill lived there for several years. He was first admitted to the assisted-living facility, and when he could no longer care for himself, he was transferred to a stepped-up care unit at a different location in the same facility. There is a very low turn-over rate in nursing and health care staff and most have spent the better part of their careers there. These angels give the best of care to their patients and are family to those whose who have been forgotten by or who have outlived their loved ones. The facility is clean and tidy and the food, though not fancy, is calibrated for the dietary needs of each patient. I took Bill for walks on the lovely grounds, and after I supplied the paperwork to confirm the health of my dog, I was able to bring her with me for Bill and others to enjoy. Birmingham Green has daily activities for the residents, from games to physical therapy. It was a wonderful home for Bill.

Inadequate. Food is deplorable - heavily laced with salt. After one month's stay my husband's condition which had improved, now deteriorated. Personnel missed noticing his wheezing, coughing & congestion until he had to be transferred to PW Hosp with pneumonia despite my reminders. He did not bounce back until I HAD to remove him for his health. I never again saw rehab people after his return from PW Hosp. Did not receive adequate advance notice of his discharge so that I could have home health care ready & waiting. Procedures ordered were not carried out; general condition rarely checked until obvious he was sitting in a puddle. NEVER saw or spoke to doctor of doctor's assistance entire 2 months. Care is as best as can be expected; too many very ill & damaged patients for the number of caring personnel. Must admit Birmingham Green is far superior to Manassas Nursing & Rehab.

I've had issues with the care my Momma is receiving. Although appearing to be extremely concerned I have my doubt. Dr. for residents shows no comparison and doesn't want to listen to anything you have to say.
