Moving my parents from their home of more than 45 years was a difficult transition for our family, but Commonwealth Senior Living at Manassas has truly become their new home. The welcoming, caring staff has made all the difference—from the front desk and nurses to the administration and activities team. My parents were initially hesitant to participate, but nearly two years later, they attend almost every activity, and my dad eagerly looks forward to receiving the daily schedule. The smaller, newer facility is easy to navigate and allows families to get to know the people who interact with their loved ones each day. The staff is responsive, compassionate, and always willing to support both residents and their families. We are grateful for the care they provide and highly recommend Commonwealth Senior Living at Manassas to families beginning this next chapter.

I’ve come multiple times throughout the summer to play piano and have had great experiences. The workers are extremely friendly to me every time and I have enjoyed talking and meeting the residents. The workers are fun and treat the residents very well.

‘ The Commonwealth Senior living Manassas, Virginia I am Wakinyan HoWaste (The guy with the ponytailI) When we first walked in there, denise‘s son, Tony, and I were saying how impressed we were with how clean this place was an organized, and everyone there was happy and all of the staff was saying hello as we walked down to the hallway very helpful people I give five stars. I didn’t get to sign in when I first arrived I was moving furniture and Denise’s family was all there giving hugs and the gentleman at the front desk ever so kindly waved me by and later I came back and I was going to sign in, but I was tired. There was a lady trying to help me. She was wonderful, wearing a white polo and I may have been rude to her as she tried to help me sign in as I should have and I apologize because I am so grateful to Commonwealth Senior living at Manassas for their loving care they provide to my good friend Denise of 30 years. The nurses and aides treated Denise Feghali with great dignity. They were always patient and kind. They also took time to explain the process to our family. This brought us so much peace during a very difficult time. The team at Commonwealth Senior living at Manassas did an outstanding job keeping my Denise Feghali comfortable. Their pain management was excellent. They were quick to respond whenever we needed help. The social workers and chaplains also gave our family great emotional support. I highly recommend From the moment my Friend Denise Feghali entered their care, the entire staff showed true professionalism and compassion. They managed all medical needs perfectly so we could focus on spending quality time together. Commonwealth stood out among the other facilities in the Manassas area. The newly renovated facility has An attractive and welcoming look andin the staff are very friendly, caring and professional. A few other positives… —We didn’t get any pushy sales pitch. The facility and staff sold itself. — When we had questions they got answered during the exploration phase all the way through in. — The day my loved one moved in there was a welcome sign with her name on door and in the elevator. Many staff members came by a room to introduce themselves or to say hello — We had lunch with her the first day. We paid for it but they said they would refund it. The meal was on them! And we experienced firsthand how good the food was. — They gave us a nice magnetic poster with large print for the back of her door that listed all the meal times so she didn’t have to remember those. — There are daily activities various interests and levels each day. Residence can pick up the schedule of them in large print each day at the front desk. — There is a concierge 8 to 8 every day in case anything comes up. — The safety pendant with call button they gave her to wear all the time is waterproof so it can be worn it even when she’s in the shower! — Because my relative’s husband had been in the military Commonwealth covered her moving costs up to $2000. Those are just a few things that I have appreciated. I would highly recommend them.

My son performed here recently with his studio (Harmony Studios) and as someone who works closely in this industry, I wanted to share how exceptionally impressed I was with this community. It is not easy to create an environment that feels both clinically sound and genuinely like home, but CSL has clearly achieved that balance. The culture of care, the attentiveness of the team, and the way their residents are treated with such dignity and warmth stood out immediately. I could feel the difference the moment I walked in, and it speaks volumes about the leadership and team. Hope is a gem and its so very obvious how much she cares about each resident there.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Commonwealth Assisted Living in Manassas many times, and each visit has been a wonderful experience. The staff is consistently warm, professional, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the community. The building is always clean, well-maintained, and inviting, and it is clear that the residents are enjoying their home! It is always a pleasure to be able to go to a community with such welcoming staff members such as Laura who goes above and beyond during tours and sets the tone for the full experience at commonwealth and Amber who is in charge of the community but also just as welcoming and kind. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this senior living facility is! Everyone, from the front desk attendants (Rosemarie and Brian are amazing!) to the nurses (Avo takes great care!), maids (Maria does a lovely job), waitstaff (Mona is so sweet and on the ball), and all the management, is so nice and supportive. My father is doing great here after breaking his hip. Fox Physical Therapy has helped my father gain more strength (Elaine is so great and so positive) and soon he will be coming back home! The Commonwealth is very clean, and very homey (Frank keeps it in top shape). Your loved one will be content here. You will have peace of mind knowing that the care given is like family. We are beyond happy with his care here. Shout out to Laura for showing us how wonderful the facility is and being so helpful through the whole process of settling my father. Such a top notch place!

Commonwealth Senior Living has gotten us through one of the hardest times in our lives. We lost our mother and my father needed assisted living. Laura at Commonwealth did everything she could to see us through this process and made it as painless as possible. After my Dad had heart surgery, we determined he couldn't take care of himself. We got him a room in Assisted Living at Commonwealth in Manassas. He lived there until he died in Memory care a year later. Over the course of that year, we had a lot of problems with Commonwealth. To this day, I still don't agree with the reasons they claimed he needed to be in Memory care. They don't staff well enough to pay close attention to resident's problems. It is hard to say if those things are entirely the facilty's fault though. I would say if you choose to put a loved one here, keep your outside Doctor. Don't use their Nurse Practitioner, and visit frequently just so the staff knows that you may show up to notice things.

It is a big mistake not to provide transportation to doctors appts more than one day a week. We would be willing to pay for the extra trips. Suggestion-play appropriate era music for the population you are serving.

Not an easy decision to place a loved one in Memory Care. After visiting Commonwealth in Manassas, I knew this would be the best place for my husband. The place is gorgeous and my one son said it was like a resort! Laura O’Connell, Jasmine Montgomery, Patty Koval, Brenda McKendry and the entire staff have been awesome! My husband has only been there a few days but so far so good!

Our family recently had to move our dad to the Sweet Memories memory care unit at CSL-Manassas. We couldn't be happier with the care our dad receives and the unit itself. Dad loves everyone there and we are happy with how he is taken care of during this difficult journey he's on now. All the staff I've dealt with have been friendly and knew my dad. I want to shout out to Stephanie specifically, as I speak with her often on my visits. We've had good conversations about my dad, his care, and who he is as a person. She listens well, provides great feedback, and genuinely cares about the residents. She makes notes about dad in his record so all the staff are aware of things that can help with his care and his comfort. The only criticism I have (and it's not worth lowering how many stars I give) is the only one my dad has and it's that a lot of the time he says the food is cold by the time he gets it. I do need to keep in mind that he is much slower these days and it may be taking him a while to get to the dining room when the staff tells him it's mealtime, and it takes him longer to "prepare" his food how he likes it when he does get there. Also, one of the kitchens is under construction and that could also be an issue. However, my dad enjoys the food and we appreciate that the staff has learned how he likes to eat. Finally, Stephanie made him love grits with syrup -- proving an old dog can learn new tricks. LOL

My experience with Commonwealth Senior Living, "CSL" started a few months ago. It started from a person experienced in providing memory care services to patients that did not work at CSL but recommended them. When I explored CSL to place my wife of 60 years I Knew this was the place. Moving my wife in was a very busy confusing time for me. As it turned out many of my questions and processes were answered by a very professional nurse named Stephine. Then getting my wife settled into her new environment was next. Stephine again came to help by guiding both me and her into her new environment with comforting words, actions and recommendations (Like an electrically operated bed). She is my go-to person for many little personal things. My first stop when visiting my wife is usually Stephine. She provides me with a quick update and I'm my way to visit.

From my very first interaction with them, I was struck by their ability to listen intently and with genuine understanding. Our experience with CLS has been extremely positive. My parents moved into the home in November of 2019.when it was the Caton Merchant Home. UVA sold to the Commonwealth Senior Living company. There were many changes through the years and staff-however we and they were always treated with the utmost respect. My parents felt supported and cared for by the staff. Any issues were handled promptly and professionally. Unfortunately both of my parents have passed, but I would highly recommend CLS for a loved one. Laura and Jasmine are absolutely amazing! We had a very complicated situation with a million moving parts and I was so overwhelmed trying to make it all work. They stepped in and took so much weight off my shoulders. Additionally, the entire team has worked tirelessly to make sure that my mom feels comfortable and welcome and could want for nothing. 10/10 would choose this place again and again. On a side note, I noticed the only bad reviews this place has were all posted at the exact time, and one from a disgruntled ex-employee. Sounds to me like someone had their friends write a bunch of reviews because they were bitter. Truthfully, I am comforted knowing that CSL does not tolerate having people like that in their employment. It’s a big leap of faith handing over the care of those we love and seeing that they don’t employ just anyone give me such a piece of mind.

Moved my mom here in February and we both absolutely love it. We both adore the staff -- they feel more like family now. Richard, Joyce, Brenda, Justin, Brian, Frank, Jasmine , Ayo.... The list goes on. They've all brought us so much peace of mind! They even visited her when she was at another facility for a bit! If I were qualified, I'd love to work there too. I'm so thankful for this facility and especially their staff. I can't praise them enough.

The staff couldn’t be nicer: from Brian with his welcoming greeting at the front desk, to Jasmine with her contagious smile ready to answer any questions, Brenda not only knows residents’ medical needs but also their emotional wellbeing, and Frank can fix anything. I just wish I could acknowledge everyone at CSL. We can’t thank them enough for all they do.

We struggled finding a place for our loved one. Close to home was a must. We found it at Commonwealth. They work with you and keep you informed of things that are happening Each department has gone out of their way with updates and info on what everyone does. Jasmine, Richard, Leah, Jeanette and if I missed anyone I apologize. All are exceptional people not only with the residents but also their family members.

I moved mom into CSL- Manassas February 2023. She has transitioned well into the newly opened Sweet Memories and I couldn't be more pleased. The Memory Care unit is one of the nicest I've ever seen. The open concept makes the unit so bright and Cheerful. The many windows let in so much natural light and let the residents look out into the world. The staff! I can't give the staff enough praise. Each one is so attentive to the residents and very friendly to the visitors. There is always something and someone in the activities area. I love that I found the perfect place for mom and that she is so content.

My mom moved into CSL of Manassas 3 months ago and the experience has been stellar. They have an excellent team and she has been receiving the best care and they have awesome communication. Last weekend my mom turned 80 and Richard (Activity Director) did an outstanding job putting everything together for us. I give Caton Merchant House an A++. My mom has been under their care for the last several years. She enjoys the seasonal crafts, visiting entertainers, socials, games and the food. They have always treated her with loving kindness and great respect. She considers it a comfortable home. When mama is happy, the whole family is happy!
