Our 24 hours staff is some of the best in Hampton, they're always available when needed. We are determined to help every senior resident thrive. The Devonshire meal plans that are prepared with fresh ingredients daily from specially designed menus. We also offer snacks between meal times. Private dining, family style, cookouts, picnics are all available for every style of meal that could be desired. We can accommodate for nearly every type of diet.

If you want a place that feels like a community of family and friendships...... Then, The Devonshire located in the Hampton Roads area is the place for you or your loved ones. The residents will let you know what they think, and it is all positive. The Devonshire is surrounded by many shops and Restaurant's. Their location is near many doctors and hospitals. Take some time and just go see for yourself.

We toured earlier this year and the sales person, Travius, gave us a tour of the Assisted living. The place was clean, and residents were happy. The community is very diverse. We thought the community would be a great fit for our grandpa, but we decided to move him to Georgia for the time being to be close to family. But Travius was amazing and so was the assisted living community.

I visited The Devonshire this week and I was so impressed. It is beautifully kept all inclusive senior living apartments with the best price. Before I even walked in the front door I was greeted by some of the residents sitting outdoors on the benches. They were so nice. Travius showed me around and I really felt at home. I know my mom will love it.

I have loved working for the Devonshire. The staff truly cares about all residents and the management here always give a shoulder to lean on. The new administration assistant is amazing, always welcomes us with a smile!

They make a lot of promises and don't follow through. Put a camera in your loved one's room . They do a great job with the independent living, horrible with the assisted living, Never have enough staff , most staff are very friendly and overworked. The staff does not follow up on the workers responsibilities to make sure they are doing their jobs of cleaning the rooms or bathing the resident. Yes it is decorated nicely, but the care of the assisted living residents leaves a lot to be desired. Many of times the oxygen tank was empty and not all of the staff know how to change out (really) !! Food would be delivered to their room and if they were asleep they didnt wake them up and they would come back pick up meal . I bought a 800.00 recliner for my loved ones room and they wouldnt put a pad on it so she peed in it and ruined it. They were slack on changing her . She got the best care when hospice came in. Put a camera in their room. !!!! they talk a good game

If you are looking for a great place for your loved one, I highly recommend the Devonshire! The staff are very happy and knowledgeable. The facility itself is classy and professionally renovated to the highest standards. A job well done for keeping the residents safe and COVID free during these times. This community is definitely wonderful. The residents love where they live and you can tell when you walk in and are greeted by those socializing in the lobby. Because this is a smaller community there is a feel of family and everyone knows everyone. The staff is engaging and there is plenty for the residents to do throughout the day. The prices are just right and with meals and biweekly housekeeping included it cant be beat. I highly recommend the Devonshire.

I have a grandparent living here right now and I would take her out in a heartbeat. Rent is way too high for them to have food delivered late and the maid rarely cleans properly.

Newly renovated and it is beautiful! I hear so many good things from residents about the community. Recently a Mardi Gras murder mystery was put on by management and the entire dining room was laughing and had so much fun participating in the suspense of who did it? What a great facility!

My Mother moved in yesterday and has been super excited to start her new life at The Devonshire. I moved her there from another AL facility in Newport News that started off great the first few months, but left us paying $1000 more a month within a year of residency due to their unfortunate citation system -- who wants to be written up for leaving a towel on the bathroom floor or for declining a bath (she was scheduled for 3 a week)? Worrying about points caused my Mother too much anxiety so it was a relief to discover that The Devonshire does not use this type of system. Yesterday the staff was extremely welcoming, helped with easy access to her room during move-in, and asked very thoughtful questions regarding her care and personal preferences. Cara (Sales Director) was a major factor in my decision to move Mom to The Devonshire. She genuinely cares about the residents and handled our unique application process beautifully as I live out of the country. Michelle (Nursing Director) approached my Mom with a beautiful sense of encouragement and Cheryl (Housekeeping) was so, so helpful and always smiling every time we had a question. My Mom and I are looking forward to getting to know the other staff members better and we both feel like this move was a great decision!

Recently, during a very challenging period and life-changing transition for a family member, we researched through over a dozen senior living facilities, and we were led to The Devonshire. The staff has truly been instrumental with transitioning our family member from independent living and into the assisted living community. They have been so patient and accommodating with walking us through the numerous changes for all of us. We would like to offer a huge shout-out for Michelle Peterson: Her professionalism, patience and genuine kindness are always appreciated! She has been generous with her time, while consistently remaining dedicated and fully committed to all of her residents. We have been routinely around senior living facilities for over 9 years now, familiar with over 2 dozen. The Devonshire truly has a home-like feeling; it doesnt feel like just another facility. We thank you, The Devonshire staff family! We are a blessed and grateful family. 5 STARS

I work at The Devonshire and I love it there. The residents are happy because the people who work there and the new management care about them a LOT. I saw a poor review so I thought I should post one too. One bad employee is not an indicator of the whole community. That person may not even work there now. When I was interviewed for my job, they stressed the importance of caring about the employees which in turn means good customer service. If someone is shopping for a good retirement community they should give several a shot. This is a good one.

Mrs. Judy treats the residents as they were here own family. Thats what I would want for my family. I think all the work she does is over looked. Well I guess she makes it look so easy. Great staff also.
