Was not what my parents expected or wanted in an assisted living home. No activities no transition programs for elderly adults that need special attention and support during dementia/memory transition. Disappointed

I was a resident of Waltonwood for 2 months in 2023 and as it turned out, that was 2 months too long. Throughout my stay, I experienced numerous examples of subpar service and care along with inept administrators. Waltonwood’s three administrators see nothing, hear nothing, and know nothing. While there were times the aides were helpful, unfortunately, this was not the norm. There were multiple occasions when a call for assistance (ex. to transfer from my wheelchair, attend to personal needs, to assist after I took a fall) took over 20 minutes for an aide to arrive. When I tried to address this, both an aide and the night-time concierge told me that the call button was for “emergencies only”. The administration admitted that they were understaffed and at times had only one aide to approximately 30 residents. One of the administrators, [name removed], employs bullying tactics and can be retaliatory with residents. After I had a fall on the slippery floor in my bathroom, [name removed] was combative and hostile. My family member was present for this and witnessed [name removed] aggression. To say she fabricates facts is a gross understatement and she engages the residents in her personal life. Her behavior is both inappropriate and unprofessional. The activities coordinator lacks imagination and is not open to resident suggestions. The resident morale reflects staff incompetence and residents, who enroll at a costly fee, deserve better.

What a wonderful place. I recently had a tour with Dinora (I think that’s how you spell it!?) and everyone was so kind and friendly. We’re looking for a place that mom can call home and none of the communities that we have seen so far comes close to the experience at Waltonwood. We had a chance to tour during off hours and the staff clearly had no idea we were prospective clients. We saw the staff treating everyone with respect and the residents all looked like they were having a great time playing a group table game. They even let mom join in!

My mother has been living in Waltonwood Assisted Living for nearly 2 years and has always received kind, patient, and compassionate care. The staff at all levels have provided superb care and attention in addition to responding timely to any concerns I had about my mom's health. Waltonwood provides a lovely, safe, healthy environment that my mom can live well and thrive in. I've been impressed by how well the Waltonwood staff have gotten to know my mother. Living close by enabled me to first-hand visit periodically to validate everything I am expressing here. My mom enjoys a nice circle of friends in the dining room, afternoon music concerts, pet visits, etc. I highly recommend Waltonwood retirement community for any other families looking for a well-run, friendly place for your loved ones.

My parents moved in to AL almost two years ago. They both wanted to maintain as much independence as possible, but needed more care. Its not an easy decision to make, but once it was made, weve all been so happy with the ease of transition, and the level of care and support from all the staff, in all areas. These past few months have been extremely trying for everyone, but when I call to check on them and they tell me were warm and cozy and dont need a thing, Im filled with relief, and such gratitude toward the staff that has cared for my parents when I cant.

I brought my parents up from FL 6 months ago to move into Waltonwood. They have enjoyed residing in both Independent and Assisted Living. The entire staff is dedicated and works hard to ensure that the physical and emotional needs of my parents are met at every level. For example, Waltonwood staff provide the needed support and care to my parents, one with physical limitations and the other with dementia. In addition, the staff are always friendly and helpful which means a great deal to us. The concierge, medical techs, aides, nurses and administrative staff have treated my parents with respect and compassion like they were members of their own family. I felt very supported whenever issues came up with their care. My parents feel that the food is top-rate, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the educational activities (art history lectures, Great Courses, movies and music programs) have been very enriching. My family feels this is a wonderful community.

For those adults wanting a small rental with meals, entertainment plus other amenities for long term this is the place. Only two years old the atmosphere is bright, charming and very clean. The apartments nice size. Located near loads of shopping, if needed bus or van makes weekly trips. One restaurant, and bistro. Small pool and exercise room.

We have been impressed with Waltonwood and our mom has integrated very well into the environment. They encourage interpersonal relationships between residents and provide a wide scope of activities that assist in keeping physical and mental acuity as strong as possible. The staff, food and environment are first rate. The fact that there are regular resident, staff meetings to air concerns shows me that the WW organization is proactive in constantly improving the quality of the day-to -day life of its residents. Its expensive but a nice place for seniors to live. My dad likes his new apartment there. Almost one year in we had main water pipes burst and main electrical panel damaged by water. The staff were very professional handling the emergency and taking care of residents.

This is probably the nicest senior living community that I have ever seen. Definitely the top of the line as far as Loudoun County, VA is concerned. Which is saying a lot considering the other wonderful communities in this area. The staff is so cheerful and is always interacting with the residents. Everyone, including the residents, seem so happy to be there. I dont blame them because this place is fancy! A++

My dad moved there in December. This is a brand new facility, and it couldnt be more beautiful. The amenities are off the charts, and the staff are tremendous. I just can say enough good things about this place. The food and service are like dining at a 5 star restaurant -- Always delicious and expertly presented.
