Disappointing. The only reason my father is in this facility is to receive physical therapy to strengthen his legs after being hospitalized. Instead, we are paying a LOT of money for him to lie in bed, unable to stand, and watch TV in a soiled diaper for hours on end. He got PT once last week and only because some of the nurses like him and look out for him while others ignore him. He didn't get a shower for several weeks. Several. Weeks. The place is grossly understaffed. And now he's getting bedsores and we just noticed a ringworm infection on his arm. A couple of weeks ago there were termites crawling on the walls and eating the glue off the old wallpaper. I mean... what are we paying for? How is this even legal? They also tried to move another patient into his room when we're paying for a private room. Awful. I gave this place two stars because some of the staff are very caring and skilled. But the good ones don't stay very long. In the few months we've been here, the turnover has been crazy. I recognize maybe four people. I really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but we're done. We're moving him to another facility as soon as it can be arranged. I think it was better before the new ownership took over. Oh - also - administrators are never there, never return phone calls. And if they are here, they're "in a meeting." Nope. No more.

Kim really helped my family when I was desperate for help she was so kind to reassure me and made everything work out on the financial side to do everything she could to help us expedite my mom getting care. <3 Im so grateful.

Visited my friend for an hour in the evening. The front desk staff immediately assisted when I entered the lobby then showed me to her room. All the staff was engaging, friendly and helpful.

Staff is friendly and efficient. They have always been quick to resolve any issues that we have had at the facility. I do trust that when I am not there, my mom is being looked after especially since she is nonverbal.

My mother in law has been a resident here since January 2025, and has adjusted well to her new home. There was definitely an adjustment period, but everything is going well now. The staff is very caring and know my mother in law by name, know what her wants and needs are, and do their best to meet them. She loves the activities, and says the food is very good. Kim in the business office is amazing at helping navigate through the insurance process. No place is going to be perfect, but this place strives to meet the needs of their residents and families. Communication is the key.

Let me just start with....I love Homestead of Sherman! I work in post-acute care and have had great experiences at Homestead with my patients and their families. The remodel is amazing and the staff is caring, easy to communicate with and we have had no issues in coordinating care with their staff. I highly recommend you tour the facility for more information on skilled or long term care for your loved one!

Well given I attended family outing to meet my friends Aunt. It was a great experience. It seemed a bit of hassle to get in with the check in machine. Yet, once showed by my friend I went with. It went well. Nice environmental look!

The Homstead of Sherman is a beautiful facility that anyone would love to call home. Many of the caring staff have been there a long time and are invested in the health and happiness of the residents. The wellness program is wonderful and includes activities for everyone. The recent remodel has made it that much more inviting!

Remodel is coming along nicely, updated furniture and paint. Have some great new staff including administrator, very nice and down to earth. You can tell they really care about their residents. Someone is always around to help when needed.

Came to this facility to see in person. Was greeted timely and with a warm welcome. Facility looks very clean and staffed very well. Had the pleasure of meeting with Amy Gilmore. We had a rough time during this last year. There were several concerns I brought forward and an issue with one travel employee. However, the issues were taken seriously by the staff and addressed immediately. I appreciate that. The last few visits have gone well. It’s nice to just be able to visit my Momma without feeling like I have to fight for her care.

From the parking lot I was greeted with a helpful, courteous reception who assisted in checking me in, getting my visitor’s badge while foamed-in and masked-up. The facility was clean, residents appeared comfortable, the hall staff and those at the nurse’s station offered a warm greeting. Most importantly, the patient I visited stated he is given excellent care. A+ Thank you!

Wonderful and helpful staff. The residents are also very friendly and happy overall. I read the prior reports on the facility and as a Registered Nurse with over 20 years experience this facility is about as good as it gets. The facility was just inspected by the state and received NO deficiencies...this is rare find. The times I have been to the facility they seem well staffed.
