The Gardens at Brook Ridge offers a complete package of senior living and care services. Our residents are independent seniors who need a little help sometimes. Our residents regularly take advantage of local events and activities available in Pharr. We are conveniently located near eating establishments, parks, and other activities.

Excellent! The Gardens at Brook Ridge provided tremendous care right from the very first day until the last. Estella was my main contact. She was extremely helpful and explained the entire process very thoroughly. There were no unexpected surprises except on the good side. I knew when I walked in the place was beautiful. The more important thing was everyone I came in contact with, including the driver (I wish I could remember his name because he was great!!) were just so helpful and nice. Our family is so happy my uncle lived out his days in comfort and being cared for so well. I can not write expressive enough words in this review to let you all know how thankful we are for the folks at The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living. Thank you and God bless all of you for what you do.

Every time I visit Dad, I am even more impressed with how well this place is managed. He is really happy here. Plus it’s very quiet and it’s super close to the hospitals on Ridge Road. Our dad was no longer able to care for himself at home and moved into The Gardens one week ago. We could not be happier with our choice . From the moment he moved him in, Dad felt like he was at home. The entire staff was welcoming and very helpful throughout the process. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to visit him but we know he is happy, safe and secure. Thank you for being there for us. What a wonderful place.

Our Mom has lived at The Gardens for 3 years and it has been a truly great experience. The care staff has been exceptional in meeting all her needs. She has made such good friends with the other residents and feels like this is truly home for her.

My wife suffered a major seizure eight months ago. The seizure left her with the symptoms of advanced dementia. It was a heartbreaking and devastating time for both of us. Every day she suffered from the effects of advanced dementia. I tried to help every day. Nothing I did helped. After six months of this excruciating experience I knew that we needed help. I started to look for where we could get help. Everyone I talked to said that the Gardens at Brook Ridge in Pharr, Texas was the best. I made an appointment and my wife, and I visited several times. The Gardens seemed to be well-managed and to offer what my wife needed to help her advanced dementia. The day that we moved in, we were waiting in the open area in Memory Care. My wife knew she was moving in but was not sure why or what was going on. We were sitting there feeling awkward and uncomfortable. The woman who was cleaning the rooms noticed us. She came over and introduced herself. She welcomed us and assured us that my wife would receive the best care. After a few moments she had us laughing and feeling comfortable. I then realized that we had made the right decision. When a companys mission, values, and culture are reflected at this level, I know that it is a well-managed company. I have no doubt that all the facilities that Sunshine Retirement are managed that well. My wife has now been there two months. The Gardens program of good nutrition, exercise, activities, and social interaction have helped my wife tremendously. She is again the person I fell in love with more than 43 years ago. Visiting her at the Gardens and having coffee with her every day is just like the dates we had when we first met. We are both so happy. I recommend Sunshine Retirement facilities to anyone who is in our circumstances. They have helped us so much and we are ecstatic.

My mother has been living at The Gardens in Pharr nearly since the day they opened. I doubt that we could have selected a better place for her to enjoy these later years of her life. The facility still looks new, and it is clean, modern, and well managed and run. Everyone on the staff is extremely helpful. This is particularly important for me, living outside the United States. There is a basic monthly charge that covers rent, meals (3 per day, and healthy), and utilities (excluding phone). The charge varies only due to the size of the apartment chosen; studio, or one and two bedroom options. Then there is a variable charge based on the needs of the resident for the care and assistance they require. That level of care is established after an evaluation by The Gardens staff and then in agreement with the resident's family/representative. This is certainly a fair way to allocate charges since some residents...perhaps the older ones...will require more help and attention than those that are younger. And further along, if and when there is the need, they have a memory care unit in the same building, although separated from the residents not yet needing that level of care. Again, I am extremely pleased with the decision to have my mother living at The Gardens. Not being able to visit her frequently, it gives me great peace of mind to know where she is living and that the staff is taking excellent care of her.

My wife had reached the point in her life where she could not take care of herself. She was confused, had memory loss, could not communicate and wanted to be outside. I could not take care of her and was afraid that she would walk outside and get lost. I looked for an assisted living with memory care facility. The Gardens at Brook Ridge was mentioned as the best facility by people whom I trust. I contacted Estella Rodriguez and made an appointment. My wife and I visited several times. Estella and all the staff were very professional and caring. I noticed during the visits that my wife was very comfortable there. Estella and all the staff treated all the residents with wonderful care and sensitivity. My wife has been there for a month now. I, our daughter, and friends have noticed that my wife is again the person that we had not seen in a very long time. We are so grateful to have her back. She, again, is a delight to be with. She has excellent nutrition, activities to engage her mind and excellent medical care. From what I have seen, all the staff there treat my wife, all the residents, and visitors with respect and excellent care. We are so grateful for facilities like the Garden with caring people like Estella and all the staff during this difficult and heartbreaking time in our lives.We are so grateful to have the person we have known for so long back in our lives.
