Georgetown Living has been a blessing for me because Harry is in a caring place and he is also safe there, which gives me enormous peace of mind. The staff always responds to my special requests for Harry in a loving way. Harry even refers to GL as the Caring Place, even though he misses living at home with me every day. He has made some special friends at Georgetown Living and they eat their meals together. Harry receives all his medications in a timely and consistent manner.

Mom is a resident at GTL. My siblings and I love our mom dearly and are so grateful to have found GTL. GTL is more like a home and not an institution. The staff are attentive, caring and treat mom and all the residents like family. The team is accessible and responsive to any request. We are thankful and our family is blessed to have our mom at GTL.

Georgetown Living has been the perfect place for my mother to feel safe, secure and well taken care of. They have a wonderful variety of activities to engage a wide range of interests. It has taken such a burden of worry off my family's and my shoulders seeing how well mom is cared for. We're so thankful and grateful for Georgetown Living!

We moved Mom to Georgetown Living right before COVID. Mom had Dementia, and had just had a big fall. We realized that we were not able to care for Mom from home. It was a very difficult decision for us. However, the staff at GL truly made the transition as comfortable as possible for us. Then as COVID hit and we were unable to see Mom, we still received regular updates. Through all of Mom's ups and downs regarding her health, GL always kept us in the loop, and well informed. I treasure the staff at GL, and am so very thankful Mom had such great care. Sadly Mom went home to be withe The Lord earlier this year. Though she is no longer with us here, we are so very thankful that she was taken care of in such a wonderful and thoughtful way. If you are looking for care of your elderly family members, I can not recommend GL enough.

My mother has been at Georgetown Living for over a year. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. The staff definitely makes the difference. My mother has dementia and as a result can be rather mean but this staff is so wonderful, they just change the subject and the next thing you know, shes thinking about something else. The staff also keeps me informed all the time. That especially important during these Covid times.

For the past 3 years my mom has lived in this care center. I have found the staff to be very caring and attentive. The Senior Assistant Director, Jane, keeps me up date with my moms needs. I feel blessed and at peace to have my mom in a place where she is cared for and loved.

Ive been working for Georgetown Living for almost 2 years now. I love everything about my job. I couldnt be more blessed with my amazing coworkers and directors. The directors are so understanding and always there day or night when needed. The owner is seriously the nicest man Ive ever worked for. Ive never worked for any other business where the owner is so involved like Char. He always makes sure all his employees and residents are taken care of correctly. Everyone is so willing to work together to give every resident the best care and to keep the facility clean. The love thats given to these residents is amazing. Being apart of the residents lives is the best part of my job. Coming into work isnt even like work to me because its such a positive place to be. I absolutely love being apart of the GL family!

This most recent review by Virnita is 100% contrary to my experience over the course of 2+ years. My mother was 98 years old with vascular dementia when we had to move her from my brothers home. My mother stayed there for two years until she died at almost age 101. We could not have been happier with the choice we made. The rooms are laid out perfectly with respect to the common areas so that the staff can keep track of everyone as they go in and out of their rooms. The staff was extremely (and consistently) competent, caring, and dedicated. Every time I visited my mother, I was 100% confident she was being treated very well. If you are considering this kind of place, I recommend you visit them. The top people are especially impressive in their dedication to their residents.

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimers is a difficult and consuming task. And one of the most stressful and challenging things you face is deciding when to place your loved one in a residential facility and selecting one that is right. Caught with conflicting emotions one can easily be racked by guilt: am I doing the right thing; is this the right choice; will she be happy. I went on such a personal pilgrimage a little less that a year ago and I found Georgetown Living. My wife has been a resident there since early June of 2017. Within a week it was clear that I had made the right choice. Its size makes for an intimate rather than an institutional environment. Paula has the support of a caring and loving staff, their concern for her was genuinely real, and they responded well to her and her needs. Each staff member knows what is happening with your loved one: did she sleep well, how did she do at breakfast, is she accepting her meds - ask anything and they know. Staff attitudes are of paramount importance, and this staff responds to all of the residents with warmth and compassion. Of course the facility is clean, the food well prepared and the activities varied. But for me the staff interaction is the key, and it is excellent. I highly recommend that you seriously consider Georgetown Living when you feel it may be time.

A lady we knew from a previous Assisted Living home moved here and recommended it. My mom has had several strokes and needs at least 2 people to help her move from her wheelchair to her bed or a recliner. Some places will not take people who need that much help. They have registered nurses on staff and tell me that they can handle pretty much anything but a tracheotomy and chemo. There are even therapists on staff. My mom has been at GTown Living for 3 months now and I have been pleased. She came in almost unresponsive and on hospice after being over-medicated at the hospital. She was hospitalized for dehydration while at a nursing home, which exacerbated her heart problems. Within 24 hours GTL had her sitting up and complaining, a huge improvement. 🙂 During her stay the staff has noticed when my mom wasnt responding well to one of her meds and consulted with her doctor and me about changing it.The arrangement is 2 cottages of about 15 residents each. There is a very pretty enclosed courtyard between the cottages that has benches, trellised grape and trumpet flower vines, a raised koi fish pond, and several raised gardening areas. The main administrators office for each cottage looks right into the central area and it is possible to keep an eye on everything that is going on. There is a central dining and living room area surrounded by private rooms and the offices. The rooms seem to be well sound proofed and have cable if the occupant likes to watch TV. The staff tries to keep people in the central area for the various activities -- exercise, eating, crafts, pet therapy, watching TV. My mom has responded better to the programs here than she did in rehab. The staff are really sweet with the people. There are a few staff that substitute on days off, but on most days its the same staff. Counting the administrator who is very hands on, and the nurse who is usually there too, there seem to be about 6 people who are actively caring for 15 people during the later afternoons when I am there. That is a really excellent ratio (2X) compared to the last place my mom lived. The meals are actually cooked from real food in a commercial kitchen at the back of one cottage: real meat, noodles, vegetables, bread, etc. My mom can eat the food even though she doesnt chew well.

I consider this facility to be amazing! They are loving, kind, patient, and so thoughtful. Not only is my mother receiving the best care available, she is loved everyday by every caregiver. They take pride in treating the residents like family, and to make them feel they are still valued. Thank you for all you do to make her feel like family!

I have only positive things to say about Georgetown Living and the administrators Char, Jane, and Marcela. About 9 months ago, my Mother placed My Father at Georgetown Living for Alzheimers respite care while she entered the hospital for a surgical procedure. Unfortunately, she had a major post operative stroke which resulted in a permanent cognitive decline, leaving her unable to care for Dad or herself.Living over 3,000 miles away, and having children of my own, I struggled with finding the best solution for my parents who are life long Texans. Georgetown Living offered to admit my Mom during her surgical recovery and as a long term dementia resident. As a registered nurse, I tend to be quite critical of other health care providers and never envisioned my parents living in a facility.Georgetown Living is simply not a facility They treat my parents as if they are family. When calling, I recieve a detailed update about their daily activities and mental and physical well being. I visit often, and I admire the front line caregivers who work hard and go the extra mile.I have witnessed visits by therapy dogs, violin performances, bingo games, and non denominational religious services. Georgetown Living has several outside garden areas and a fish pond which are peaceful and contained.Thank you Georgetown Living!!!

My 68 year old husband of 48 years was diagnosed with dementia this past November and was in need of a memory care facility. I was blessed to have been directed to Georgetown Living. In my first meeting with Char Hu, Director, he shared with me that their goal was to help the residents live their life to be the best they could be in their situation. Char, his Assistant Director,Jane and all the caregivers have done exactly that. My husbands situation was very difficult and complicated upon his arrival. There has been a miraculous change in him due to the combination of the knowledge of Char, Jane and the loving care of the staff. The expertise care and understanding of my husbands condition has now created a peaceful life, not only for him, but for me, knowing the quality of care he receives. I live with the peace that no matter what time of the day or night, he is receiving not only quality but loving care. Thank you, Georgetown Living for doing this for my husband, for me, and for my children.
