Where else would you want to live if you are retired and don't want the hassles of keeping a home. Everything is provided, from housekeeping to maintenance and security. It is a great community of friendly people. My wife and I never regret moving here 14 years ago.

Over eight years ago, we began looking for a retirement community where we would relocate. We considered several facilities, but Edgemere was the most attractive by far. Our experience at Edgemere has been fantastic. We have many new friends, and every need is provided for. Edgemere is a great place to live. The food is wonderful, there are activities to serve any need, and medical care is readily available. Choosing Edgemere was a great decision for us. Edgemere is our happy place.

I moved to Edgemere in October 2017 with my husband. He passed away shortly thereafter, and I was asked to be the Building Representative of my building. I attended the Edgemere Retirement Association Board Meetings and met many residents. It was a 2 year commitment, and after, I joined the Social Committee and became very involved. I took charge of the Fashion Show. I also volunteered to help another resident and we did an apartment tour of apartments here at Edgemere, for the residents, and it benefited the Gary Sinese Foundation for veterans, which was held that year on Veteran's Day. I also had background in Christmas decorating and helped with the decorating here at Edgemere. For the past several years I have picked and shown movies in our theater on Monday evenings. I served 2 years as Treasurer of the Edgemere Retirement Association, and am now serving as the Dining Chairman of the Board. I have thoroughly enjoyed living here at Edgemere, attend bridge classes, exercise classes, book club, Bible classes, choir, and participate in as many activities as time will allow. I have made many friends and plan dinners with them almost every night. There is always something to do or many ways to become involved. I've met many interesting people, from all walks of life and family is nearby. The staff is well qualified and very caring and we are treated almost like family. After coming from a different state, I decided to move closer to family. Dallas was my destination and Edgemere was the independent community I chose. The residents have been extraordinarily welcoming and interesting to get to know. Edgemere has also provided me with excellent meals served by friendly and helpful staff in two separate dining rooms. Also, transportation to medical appointments and grocery stores can be arranged. It is a very vibrant and beautiful place to live.

My grandmother is here and I love coming to visit her because the place is beautiful, and well-maintained. The staff is ALWAYS welcoming, kind, attentive, and I can tell that they truly care about the residents. The amenities, activities, and dining options are excellent. Edgemere is a superb facility. Its decor is top-notch and inviting, making us feel right at home. There are so many amenities and fun activities planned by the outstanding entertainment director. The food is top-notch and delicious. The therapy room is a memorable and very comfortable stay that you won't want to return home. The entire staff goes above and beyond in caring for their residents, responding quickly and professionally with a wonderful and attentive attitude. Housekeeping and laundry services are a very responsible and helpful department. I would sincerely recommend this place to a family member.

I had the pleasure of dining in The Portabella while visiting my dear friends. As someone who has a few dietary restrictions, I often find it challenging to be provided a variety of desirable choices to select from. The menu here was amazingly extensive. The customer service I received was outstanding. My uncle had a short, but wonderful stay in skilled nursing earlier this year. The nursing staff on the 3rd floor was amazing. I appreciate how they took care of him. But, we recently received an invoice for his stay. He was understandably upset as he has primary and secondary insurance. I called and spoke with the Business Office Manager, Jasmine, and she made sure to take care of us and thoroughly explain the invoice. I recommend any family member look into Edgemere’s skilled nursing facility to send their loved ones.

I attended a community event here recently and was completely blown away by the happy, energetic staff that was working there. I have been to other retirement communities and a lot of the staff looks sad and overworked. Kind of makes you wonder what kind of care they are able to provide. I struck up a conversation with a super friendly woman named Holly and asked if there was any way to get involved further. She provided ways for me to volunteer and get more involved in their community and she has been so helpful. This is a great community and you can tell they work hard to connect and bring awareness to certain causes.

When the time comes to search for a place for your mother to move to ... once she can no longer fully care for herself ... it can be very challenging to find that 'perfect place.' I found it ... The Edgemere is beyond exceptional! Rest assured ... this is where you want your parent(s) to be (when the time comes). Actually, this is where YOU will want to be one day ... when your time comes. Yes, of course, it is a gorgeous facility with amazing food. How else could they be recognized as #1 in Texas and #2 in the United States? It's essentially a 'cruise ship that never leaves port.' There are so many activities, events, and eating options that your loved ones may feel as though they are on a cruise. BUT it is not just the facility, food, or activities that make The Edgemere so outstanding. It is the PEOPLE and the CULTURE. Over 35 years as a physician and surgeon, I have seen many institutions and I'm not easily impressed. The Edgemere is THAT special. Once you visit, you will know you are in the right place. A CULTURE of compassion, empathy, consideration, and a deep sense among all the staff that they are part of something special. People who really care. Not just one or two staff members ... everyone I encountered. Like attracts like, and the best employees want to work with others who share their passion to be their best. The nursing staff is especially caring ... and that is one of the Edgemere's greatest assets. It all starts at the top. Leadership sets the tone for the entire organization and Edgemere has attracted an all star team. The nursing director, TJ, as well as the admin team including David and Milton set the standards for excellence that Edgemere is well known for. I am so thankful that I discovered the Edgemere and so happy to have found the perfect environment for my mother. The Dallas Annual Walk for Parkinson’s co-hosted by Edgemere was an incredible community event! Holly and Layla were phenomenal hosts and greeted everyone with a sense of belonging and care. I want to commend Lifestyles. Holly, Layla, and Jaime have been so helpful over the past couple of months. I had to host a building party and they went out of their way to make the room and tables, beautiful - they made it for me. My husband has also benefited from considerable help from our lifestyles office . No ask is too small nor too tough: they willingly and ably help with any request.

I have worked as a personal caregiver at Edgemere for over 16 years and can attest that this is a well-run facility with good management and very experienced staff. The staff are so friendly, caring and very helpful. I have several times called maintenance or security for help, and they are always there right on time to solve any problems promptly so that residents can enjoy and live their lives to the fullest. The facility serves great food, offers rides for appointments, interior beauty salons, and a variety of amenities to keep residents engaged and active. I would highly recommend Edgemere to others based on my experience.
