My mother had a wonderful experience at Brookdale Oak Hollow after moving up care levels from Brookdale Eden Estates a block away. At least once a week Mom would tell me how happy she was to be living there. The marketing director, Peter, got to know us and our needs and was always there for support or to answer questions and welcomed us to the community. He also helped maintain her plants and bird feeder outside her window in the beautiful courtyard. The staff is very resident centric, and you can feel that day in and day out. She was genuinely loved and cared for by the staff. On the rare occasion where there was a concern, they were responsive and addressed and resolved issues quickly. I appreciate their dedication to what they do and those they serve. The food quality was good and chef Tracie goes out of her way to make sure residents have food they love. My Mom lost the ability to swallow solid food in the end and they made her custom shakes daily with probiotic yogurt, ice cream and fruit and took the time to go shop individually for her culinary needs since it didn't fit into the standard bulk food orders. I never worried about medication being given correctly and on time. The health services are top notch, and Mom had some challenging problems that needed extra attention. Although my Mom didn't usually choose to participate, there are many activities and family opportunities to engage with the community which were always well planned and executed. Again, there was always that feeling of focus on and connection to the residents and families. I saw 3 other memory care programs, and this was the only one that really felt like a community from the moment you walked in. The others felt more like hallways in a hospital and very institutional. Oak Hollow is the exact opposite of that and is a great choice for those with loved ones needing the level of care.

Brookdale Oak Hollow is a wonderful facility all ways around. It is always tough when you have to make a decision to move a loved one to this level of care. I was lucky to have met with Peter to discuss this for my father. The staff and support was always outstanding and I’m thankful Senior Living Specialists thought to connect me here. The true difference is the staff, they tl really care and want the best for their resident and the family’s. I’m thankful!

The Brookdale Oak Hollow staff has made walking this difficult path with our mother’s dementia the most pleasant experience it can possibly be. When visiting different facilities, the nursing staff and director at this location went above and beyond in their time and interest to help make the move to memory care as happy and comfortable as possible. Since being here 6 months now, we can honestly say that the staff here is always so loving and ready to help with any concerns we’ve ever had. THANK YOU Whitney, Kiki, Delores and everyone here for loving and taking such good care of all the residents as we always witness you doing! We especially appreciate that our mother gets to be a part of your wonderful environment. We could not have been more pleased with the care my mother receives at Oak Hollow Memory Care. As the Director, Whitney is outstanding at her position and always willing to listen and share! The entire staff always have smiles and so much patience! Not only have they become my mother’s family but part of mine as well. The food is outstanding. My mother especially loves the soups! The main meal is served at noon and the evening meal is usually lighter. One evening they served soup followed by peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. There was not a peep in the room as residents devoured the sandwiches of their childhoods. I don’t want to leave anyone out of this remarkable facility and staff. Peter and Clare have started a wonderful support group. I so look forward to these monthly meetings. We are all going through something different but so much the same! Even the housekeeping staff offer smiles and hugs! What a wonderful group of human beings who care for our residents!! Jamie

We were not able to place my grandmother here so I cannot share experience, HOWEVER, I saw firsthand how wonderful the facility is and my conversations with Peter (administrative staff member) were full of his compassion and knowledge! I’m a 3rd party provider who visits clients in facilities all over the metroplex. Out of all the facilities I visit, Oak Hollow delivers the best care by far. The staff more than just care about their residents, you can see that they love them based on their interactions with the residents and how the residents respond to the care staff. Even when every other facility in the area is struggling with vacancies, Oak Hollow rarely has an open room. If they have a spot for your loved one, don’t delay and jump on the vacancy ASAP because it likely won’t be vacant tomorrow.

I placed my Mom here from another facility and I'm glad I did! Brookdale is a more 'homestyle' family atmosphere. The staff is trained & attuned to the eccentric nature of dementia. There is fish tank, aviary, several rooms for activities, TV room, piano. The residents can walk along the inner loop to their hearts content. The staff is responsive & friendly; cares about their residents and tries to engage them in activities. Good dining room & variety of food entries. You can visit any time. I highly recommend Brookdale Oak Hollow.

Recently Brookdale Oak Hollow hosted an Aloha party complete with an Elvis impersonator. Family and residents alike enjoyed the party replete with grass skirts and leis. The Chef prepared a banquet with carved watermelon baskets. Decorations were adorable, A special thank you to Clare and her assistant Morgan! It was wonderful. My husband, a resident there even stood in front of his wheelchair and we danced. Thank you for this wonderful event!

This is a wonderful place for your loved one with dementia. They have a great activity director, things are always going on. The chef makes great meals. And the staff really cares about my dad. They took extra care of him when he broke his leg after a fall. Our family is very grateful and pleased with Brookdale.

It’s a very nice homey environment for my father. He is very well taken care of and loves the staff. Like most places, it’s not perfect but it is by far the best around locally. Transitioning is very difficult when going into a facility or changing to this degree of care, after the two week transition period most kinks seem to work them selves out. My father seems happy as do the other residents I interact with. Also, the staff appears happy which is important!! A great choice for anyone looking for a place!!

My mother was well loved during her time here until she passed. The caretakers and other staff were involved and attentive, and treated Mom with respect and dignity. Maintenance is handled promptly and the meals are pretty good. This was Mom’s third and last place she lived after she was no longer at home, and we were glad we moved her to Oak Hollow.

I'm happy that my mom is a resident at Brookdale Oak Hollow. When we knew as a family that this was the next step for our mother's care, we were lost on how to go about starting the process. I walked in and met with Sara. She was very caring and listened to all my concerns with this level of care and the unknown. In the last year that my mother as been there, mom has settled in and enjoys all the staff, and they enjoy her. All the staff are loving and caring to the residents and residents family. This is the reason Brookdale Oak Hollow was voted the #1 Dementia Care for 2022. I had to make the hard decision to place my Mother in memory care this past June. With all my searches and visits I never felt good about leaving my Mother in their care. Then I walked into Brookdale Oak Hallow and all my apprehensions were put to rest. Stephanie Mask took me on a tour and explained everything and made sure I was well informed. The place is so clean and felt like home. Without Stephanie’s excellent leadership it would be just another run of the mill facility.

Brookdale Oak Hollow is an exceptional loving dementia community. Placing a loved one into a dementia community facility your loved ones needs/deserves is not easy, but Brookdale Oak Hollow helped me place a friend of mine (for 40 years) into the dementia community (broke my heart), because I could no longer give her the 24/7 care she needed/deserved. Placing a loved one into a facility is as hard on the people placing them as it is for the loved one. From the time we was looking for a dementia community to place my friend into, from the tour of the facility, to all the paperwork and the smooth transition for my friend from my home into Brookdale Oak Hollow. The family couldn't ask for a better transition (for both the family and the loved one). I LOVE how Brookdale keeps the family informed from how the loved ones day is to activities they are doing. The facility is very clean (which I greatly appreciate). There are two beautiful outside areas with tables and chairs (we go outside and do puzzles and fresh air). There are other rooms also available, a room for family to go and take dinner for my the loved one and enjoy family time. Staff is full of love and respect for each resident. My friend is doing very well ever since I placed her at Brookdale Oak Hollow and I know it has a lot to do with the staffs interaction with her and it's just not with my friend, it's with all the residents at Brookdale Oak Hollow, you can see all the love just walking through the doors at Brookdale Oak Hollow.

My mother lived at Oak Hollow for the last few months of her life. She passed away this past February. The care there was excellent. This was the first facility that my mother never had a single complaint about her care or the staff. She had been in several facilities during the past 12 years of declining health. She truly felt loved and cared for by the entire staff at Oak Hollow. I had complete confidence in the staff. If there was a health issue, the nursing staff tended to my mother immediately, would call her hospice and make sure that she received whatever treatment was necessary. The director, Stephanie, told me that having the residents know that they are loved and cared for is what she focuses on at Oak Hollow. It is obvious that every staff member follows her lead in showing care and kindness to every resident, plus their family members. I truly felt confident that my mother was in good hands and it was okay for me to actually go out of town without worries. The facility is clean, the food was good, and the staff is phenomenal. I recommend Oak Hollow for those needing quality memory care.

My mother lived at Brookdale Oak Hollow for 4-1/2 years and we had overall a very positive experience. I found the staff and leadership to be caring and responsive. My mom has special needs (as do most of the residents) and the staff worked very well with me to take care of her. I was lucky that I got to visit with my mom several times a week and stay on top of her care so that any concern was addressed quickly. Whenever something was needed or there was a concern, the management and employees worked with me to correct any issue as soon as possible. Their Activities staff is top notch - keeping the residents entertained and engaged throughout the day and evening. The Nursing staff is very responsive to any concern and will contact the resident's doctors to help get treatment if needed. This was the third facility my mother was in over the last 12 years, so I have some basis for comparison. I have always felt that the resident's family and the facility's staff must work together for the resident's best interest. I find that this was easy to do at Brookdale Oak Hollow.

I have had my mom here at Brookdale Oak Hollow for about a year now. She has previously resided in 3 other Brookdale Facilities. I find Brookdale employees kind and caring. I absolutely love this location, The food, the atmosphere and most of all, the way they care for my mom. I KNOW my mom is in good hands and for that I thank Brookdale Oak Hollow from the bottom of my heart. My mom has been with Brookdale family for about 6 years. I have loved all all facilities. What a refreshingly wonderful experience this was. I went to on a tour Oak Hollow Brookdale for my father. I wanted a place close to home where I could go and visit him. Staff and residents joke around with each other and try to take care of one another. It’s so sweet when a staff member makes sure to comfort a resident when they are having a bad day and even vice versa! One resident offered to pray for staff member when she was upset and later the two were playing card games with a group of residents!

I came to check this place out on a weekend unannounced and was very happy with the experience there. The front lobby was decorated so nicely for the holidays it felt like I was walking into someone’s living room not a commercial building and the full coffee bar was an awesome surprise! The staff was super friendly and helpful, the place was spotless, the patients looked clean and happy and the smell of the dinner they were preparing was amazing! They even offered to feed us! This place is on the top of our list out of many in the area.
