Kingsport American House is a well maintained facility, super clean and the staff are incredible. The large dining area provides community. Meals are balanced, nutritious, well prepared and presented. Outdoor spaces give residents the opportunity to enjoy being outside and safe, at the same time. The gathering room is a multi-purpose area for music, crafts, bingo, special events and more. Onsite memory care and physical therapy are available. All in all it is a great place with lots of activities for all stages of life at comparable pricing.

American House has been a great place for our Dad to live. It is a very nice, clean, and safe environment. The staff has been great! Currently Amber L. is our go-to for any questions or needs. She has been very helpful and responsive to any needs we have asked her about. The staff is always planning fun events for the residents, including things like in my attached photo included with this review. We appreciate Amber and the entire staff!

Went the other day to talk about finding a home for my grandmother with dementia. I spoke with Courtney the memory care director and she really eased my mind about placing my mamaw in a place like this. The staff there makes you feel so welcome. We needed a safe place for my mother as she was no longer able to live alone. We found this gem through Encompass and immediately loved the location, the staff and the overall feeling from the current residents. This team did a great job with my mother. My Dad moved into this facility in June of 2025. His medical condition has improved significantly since he has been here. The staff here take excellent care of him, and he is very happy. I’m very thankful that I don’t have to worry about him being taken care of now. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of my father. ™

Such a clean , calm atmosphere with so many activities and gatherings to keep my mom out of her room and mingling with her peers . Nursing staff IS taking such good care of her . She loves the food and her room was startlingly small for someone coming from a fairly large home but we have ALL adjusted to its size and the fact that some call it her home , we call it her bedroom as she really isn’t in it much except for dressing , bathroom and sleeping. Mom is HOME ™

This place is great! They've hired a new Director Sherry and she is so helpful and is making great changes for the residents. She has been very helpful to us and we are happy about the change. Attended family night and it was amazing, the decor was beautiful, food was absolutely delicious and all the staff was so engaged. Thank you all!!!

I love the layout of the facility. The Activity Rm and Dining Rm is open and Beautiful! The facility is very clean! The Ra's are always willing to help with anything. The Ra's and the Director of Nursing is always willing to help when I come see pts. The food is amazing too!

I am not happy with how things are being done at American House in Kingsport, TN. On the weekend there is hardly anyone to work such a big unit. If you do not have a person in charge you have a lot of Indians and no Chief. The nurses are good to follow the rules but not all of them. They are to stay with the person until they have taking their meds. My mother has very large pills to take with supper. Last night at supper they gave her pills and glass of water with mostly ice. This person did not stay while she took her pills and she did not have enough water to get them down. She had to bang on the table to get the nurse and it was the people who live there that screamed she needs water. Also her bath is a great deal of the time missed. There is more but you get the picture. They need a leader. very unhappy !

I am not an employee at American House, but I have a client there. I am his caregiver and I come 3 times a week, five hours each day. The staff and nurses are very kind. The residents enjoy bingo many times during the week and get prizes like candy, toiletries, etc. when they win and pick what want. They often have people who sing come play for the residents. They always have activities set up everyday, Bible study, sitting exercises, bingo, games, art, etc. They are served 3 great meals a day and have other options if something is not what they want to eat. There is also a memory care unit for people who need extra care. They have recently remodeled and it is very nice with calming colors, decorations. They have great gatsby dances, Halloween, Christmas parties, birthdays, and go traveling to places in the community van. One time the activities director took my client and others to chop house. So much fun. I love it here. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to help with the care of their loved one.
