The staff here is incredible from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance to management. They assist in every way possible and they do it with a smile. After my Dad passed, it became more apparent that my mom could no longer live alone. My husband and I visited about eight assisted living facilities in the Myrtle Beach area. Portside at Grande Dunes was simply outstanding. Lauren Wolf spent several hours with us, answering questions and offering a tour. The assisted living apartments were spacious and well appointed. The dining room and event rooms reminded us of a first class hotel, nicely decorated, clean and inviting. Abi Webb helped us coordinate moving trucks and multiple deliveries as we readied my Mom's room. She even brought the paperwork to my home to be signed. Portside's facilities are beautiful but their best assets are their employees. Everyone, down to a person, is caring and compassionate. They helped my Mom adjust, wheeled her to meals on the days she wasn't feeling too energetic. They pop in for a chat, fix her TV, deliver her mail and get her to the hair salon on time. I'm so grateful to Portside for allowing my Mom to maintain her dignity and independence. I know we made a great choice.

Lauren at Portside is an absolute pro and extremely kind and helpful. I went looking for memory care for my mother. She allowed all the time I needed to ask plenty of questions. Never felt rushed or like I was annoying her. She even squeezed me in for a tour when she had a full day already. Communication was as if I were the only person she had dealings with. The facility is quite impressive and all staff members I encountered were very friendly. Definitely worth your time to go see it.

We've been touring and interviewing several senior living facilities for our mother and we're happy to say, we chose Portside at Grand Dunes. Making a decision to trust a facility for your parents care comes with great discernment, a ton of questions and a lot of expectations. Lauren Wolf, our sales coordinator and Abi our move-in coordinator have been extremely gifted with patience, kindness, empathy and a sense of humor which put our family at ease. Lauren introduced us to many residents and staff members who were equally as endearing to our questions and more importantly happy to make mom's transition easier. Both Lauren & Abi have been extremely helpful with the application process. Portside has thought of every amenity to ensure life will be safe, convenient and happy for our mom. We're thinking mom will be too busy for us now!

Helped my father move in a few weeks ago. Some residents immediately started introducing him around and the staff have all been great. They helped out so much to accommodate us at a very stressful time. Lauren went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly for the move-in. The only hiccup was with some confusion over getting his meds sorted out but that finally got resolved. I definitely recommend this facility to anyone in the Myrtle Beach area looking for an assisted living community.

I don't even know where to begin to say how much I love Portside at Grand Dunes. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly. The Residents and the families have been so supportive and have welcomed me into the community. The hiring process was so easy and speedy. I am so fortunate that Grace Management to take a chance on me. It had truly been one of the best decisions I have made. For the first time in a long time I look forward to getting up and coming to work. And more importantly this is so much more than just a job to me. They have such an amazing staff. Beautiful facility, but more techs & caretakers are needed at least 1 to a floor in med rm or at med cart - each tech is responsive & helpful once you ask them for something. Food is not good, most residents complain. It's disappointing & frustrating that the Nurse does not return calls.

Portside is a beautiful facility with awesome amenities. I toured the facility with my daughter (a nurse practitioner) and we were both blown away! The staff was very nice and the residents all looked so happy. While we were on the tour, a gentleman stopped us saying that he had been living at a different facility and recently moved to Portside and absolutely loves it. Overall, the place is comparable to a 5-star hotel with extremely nice staff and the residents all look happy to be there. We definitely rate Portside as one of the best in the Myrtle Beach area!

This place is AMAZING!!! Had a tour with the Business Office Manager and she was great too. All of the staff that we met were super nice and made us feel very welcome. The facility overall made my husband and I feel like we were at an all inclusive resort somewhere. I recently moved my father into Portside. This was a very hard decision to make. I met with Cat Richardson who took us on a tour of the facility & grounds. She introduced us to many of the staff at Portside. Cat instantly put me at ease. Her pleasing, calm demeanor did much to assure me Portside was the right choice for my father. Her knowledge and empathy was just what I needed. My father has received excellent care from all the staff. Everyone has been patient, courteous, caring and most of all respectful. I would highly recommend Portside and Cat Richardson as your onsite liaison. Portside, you are lucky to have Cat Richardson on staff.

When we began our search for my Moms future home, I had no idea things would work out as perfectly as they did! After our first appointment with Lauren Wolf it became evident that Portside would be were we would start and end our search. Lauren is an asset to this community. Her kind heart and caring personality shine thru. She made what could have been a daunting experience a wonderful one. We could not have been happier with the treatment we received. She even went above and beyond to give my mother a personal and very kind welcoming gift when she stayed in the guest apartment. Any questions we had were answered promptly and we felt like family. I know we made the right choice. Portside is a lovely place that cares about their residents and Lauren is a big part of what made this transition easier for my entire family- She is now a friend!

They say that beauty is only skin deep. I am a recent resident who has transitioned here from a nearby condo after living at an equally beautiful setting for 2 years and 3 months. Prior to that time, I was a long distance landlord since 2014 originally from Connecticut. With my professional background in long term care and human services, I thought that perhaps I could make a significant contribution being an advocate for many causes, After much research, interviewing, weighing pros and cons, I decided upon Portside , Independent Living to secure my future. It seemed to fit my needs best not only from the standpoint of having and compensating for life long spastic cerebral palsy and having little if any help as an adult ...and just the pure isolation caused by the pandemic which drove this 'people person' to strive for more. Another factor guiding me was the fact that I wanted to continue to build a legacy for my Mom who tragically died of COVID in Connecticut on Thanksgiving Day, 2020 in which I was never able to say goodbye or return. To this day, the memorial is still pending. I truly feel as it I bonded with the Marketing Director, Cat Richardson. Her people skills , her engaging manner and willingness to assist me and embrace my ideas for the future was a refreshing change! In fact all of the Administration and staff have been receptive. My goal is always to help others, as I am a giver and I truly appreciate the value of the older generations.. I desire to be 'an innovator as I always have, not necessarily a bingo player.' Now I am just entering that door at the younger end of the spectrum. The Administration's willingness to embrace my enthusiasm and ideas means so much! Definitely, there is an adjustment period and as with any business there are struggles. However, the important thing is to make of your mind to make your quality of life better and to 'ride out the rough waves' when they occur- The grass is always greener ' not the case. There are many amenities and the apartments are appointed beautifully! If you need something different, just ask and they will try to accommodate. You not only are making a financial, but personal and emotional investment and you deserve to be the best you can be! I hope to shine here for a long time. P.S. Spent some time this morning at Portside with their Director of Sales, Cat Richardson. Whether my Mom winds up living there or not, Cat stole the show. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and patient, and did a great job showing us around and explaining some of the finer points of independent living. She is a true asset to her organization. On another note, the facility is like an upscale hotel, offering a high level of service and tons of amenities.

I visited Portside twice- the first time was something like a "scouting mission" while we began our search for my sisters' relocation to Myrtle Beach from the Northeast. I met with and toured the facility with Cat Richardson, who was gracious and helpful regarding all of my questions. Subsequently, my sister, along with my husband and myself, had another meeting with Ms. Richardson in October. Cat was patient and very informative regarding all aspects of Portside. I truly cannot thank her enough for her attention and continued input regarding a major event/move for my sister. I would be remiss if I did not add that- from a customer service standpoint- Portside has a gem in Ms. Richardson! Having had our own business, both my husband and I appreciate the value an employee with such enthusiasm, kindness and scope of knowledge concerning all aspects of the "product"!! Her follow up has been amazing and always to inform- we have never once felt pressured or uncomfortable. Kudos to the manager who saw/interviewed Ms. Richardson and hired her! The best "ambassador" for a perfectly lovely new home! We look forward to joining the community!

Portside is a new addition to Grand Dunes. I visit someone who lives in the assisted living building and it is absolutely beautiful! The apartments are quaint and very private compared to large hospital rooms. Each has a separate livingroom, bedroom and bath with walk in shower. There is a refrigerator but no stove though you can bring a microwave oven if you choose to. Youll have to supply your own furniture, dishes, television, et., if you want those things. The community dining room is gorgeous! Visitors can also dine for $15. which I think is a bit steep but from what I understand, the food is very good and the portions are quite filling. My resident says, Theyre always feeding us. Everytime I turn around its time to go and eat. There is a calendar of activities. There are buses for appointments and shopping trips and plenty to do in the building if youre looking to stay busy. Construction is well underway for independent living. Portside is a wonderful facility. Its on the high side price wise but if you need it and can afford it, why not go for it? The least you should do is go on a tour.
