Lady Amanda Heeter

This is a review both for this specific location, company, and the care of the caregivers. The caregivers have been great except for one, which I don't believe was well-vetted years ago. She had an extremely smart mouth and started to argue about what I asked of her when it was something agreed upon when she first came in. It took months to replace her with Toni, who was an amazing caregiver and friend. I adored her. Next would come another great caregiver, then my fiance took the mantle until we marry. By far, only the last 3 caregivers have been impressive and good, actually helping during their time on the clock instead of wanting to sit around in my home, where I need help, and doing nothing while getting paid. Please start vetting the people you hire better. Some are not at all of the mind that this is a real job and not a time to goof off on Medicaid's (or God forbid your) dime. The company is pretty good, and most of the employees are very nice whenever I had to contact them. Usually, my case manager will contact instead, but the few times I had to - the first person to answer the phone has always been very kind and helpful. I can't say the same for the person over this specific location. There have been multiple instances that I have bitten my tongue with her, but I'm hoping to save someone a headache with this information. Without calling names, she has been to my home without a mask (even knowing I'm immunocompromised), while coughing heavily and standing near me seeming like she was sick. While I can hold my breath for a short monthly visit, I shouldn't have to. She gets rude quite quickly because she is in a position of power and will make you feel like you are the problem if you call about something glaringly on their end. She has also been rude to my fiance the few times he has had issues or questions, going back and forth on things she has said and assured both of us of. I am not just defending him. This happened to my previous two caretakers with this location, too. Finally, what I feel was a real problem was the lack of consideration and mask, as well as coming to where I currently live and very adamantly admitting being against vaccinations while talking to the woman I rent from. First of all, I don't care what your personal views are, but you're bringing them into where I live. You are also compromising me every single time you visit while you are sick and refuse to wear a mask. The main issue for me is that the rudeness is not okay, the inconsiderate behavior is not okay, and the lack of professionalism is not okay. I'm highly disappointed with how this experience is going. The only saving grace here is the kindness of the caregivers, who are not at all properly vetted for hire beyond the standard application or a flimsy phone conversation. Please do better, some people are far worse off than myself and need quality care, not a constant concern if who comes in their home is going to do their job, or if management is going to infect them when they come by. UPDATE 1/30/2024: After the above review, I spoke to the company president, who was willing to talk to me and hear my concerns. HE is what keeps me at this company, nothing else. Shout out to you, sir. You went above and beyond to be sure that my concerns were read, met, and replied to in a VERY professional manner. I thank YOU for talking to me and making time in your day for someone very upset at the service who had no idea where to turn. I will update again once a supervisory visit happens with someone other than the woman I mentioned in the original review.
