Working for Atria Senior Living and Atria Forest Lake has been an amazing opportunity. Atria Senior Living is a wonderful company to work for and has impacted my life greatly. I started my career with Atria Senior Living when I was just 16 years old as a waitstaff and have moved up throughout the company and have been employed in many different roles. Moving to a new state and city on a whim, Atria Forest Lake welcomed me in with open arms. The staff and residents are incredible and now are a part of my family. Atria Forest Lake feels like home to me and I could not be happier with my decision to work for them.

My MIL moved into Atria Forest Lake after an early dementia diagnosis. Our family's main concern was having someone to accurately give her medicines each morning and evening and to keep her in a routine to delay the progress of her disease. I knew after our first visit that she was going to love Atria Forest Lake. Now, just over a year after she moved in, she is THRIVING! The loneliness and the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic took a major toll on my MIL. We saw her sweet disposition and active social life return after she moved to Atria. Often, she says she's too busy with activities to come spend time with us! A dealbreaker for her was letting her Jack Russell terrier mix stay with her, and the spunky 10-pound Bella has become like a mascot for the whole place. We no longer have to worry about my MIL's memory getting worse, her forgetting to take or taking too much of her medicines, if she's eating and staying hydrated and if she's safe with her memory beginning to worsen. Atria at Forest Lake's staff are just amazing and supportive caregivers. My MIL enjoys the food and brags to all of her friends that she no longer has to cook, clean or do her laundry since Atria takes care of all of it. The initial transition when she first moved in was a little rocky, but after a few months of settling in and getting to know the other residents, my MIL actually enjoys living at Atria. She's become an ambassador to help new people settle in (I said in the beginning that she would end up as an ambassador after they told us about the program!). Cannot recommend Atria at Forest Lake enough!!!

My sister lived here and it was horrible. Food is worse than school lunch. Staff are rude. Community is OLD!! Activity director is nasty. Bad attitude and talks to residents like they are children. Maintenance director is so rude and never available. Overpriced!

This is a great facility they have great staff there theres some things that could be changed for mostly the staff loved the residence and without great staff you have nothing so I would recommend Atria

My initial visit to The Atria Forest Lake, left me with a great impression due to its small size (only two floors), the layout of the facility, and of the seemingly professional and caring staff that I met. Though at this time my Father was not ready for the services provided by The Atria, I also was impressed by the continued communication with Alisha Knight, the Community Sales Director. When it was time to proceed with admitting my Father, Ms. Knight played an integral part in seeing to it that his admission to Life Guidance (Memory Care) went as smoothly as possible. With 24-7 personalized care, nutritious meals provided three times per day, housekeeping services, and an engaging monthly events calendar, making this decision has brought me much comfort just knowing that my Father is in good hands and is well-taken care of.

My mother moved to Atria right at the time of the lockdown from the covid pandemic, and I am so grateful that she is in a place where the people who care for her and the other residents are as dedicated and caring as they are.

I have been the Community Sales Director at Atria Forest Lake for almost 4 years. I have worked for many companies over the last 20ish years and I have never seen a company take care of their residents and staff like Atria Senior Living. Over the past year during the COVID-19 pandemic, I have seen Atria go above and beyond over and over for residents and staff. If the time ever comes that I need a senior community for a family member of mine, I would only consider Atria. We have employees who have worked at Atria Forest Lake for as long as 22 years. The compassion our care staff show our residents is exactly what I show my family and would expect from caregivers. You wont find a better community than Atria Forest Lake.

Alzheimers is a terrible disease for the family and friends. God takes care of our love ones with this disease. I found a beautiful place in Columbia, SC called Atria with a memory unit. David, my husband is happy there. He has made friends, and the staff cares for their residences. I thought I was giving my husband the best of care at home, but he has more care and positive interaction than staying at home.

Love this place !!! Our Grandmother has been here for almost a year. She has met so many wonderful friends and people. The staff is top notch and the residents have lots of loved ones checking on them. They have Movie Night, happy hour, BINGO... Take it from a family that looked at 6-8 different places. We chose here and WE couldn't be more happier for Our Maw Maw.

I have had an incredible experience with Atria Forest Lake. I am a caregiver wife with a husband with dementia. I have so enjoyed the support group class there once a month and the Dialogue of Alzheimer meetings each Thursday in February. Ann Abel, the Activities Director, does a super job conducting both of these. The atmosphere of this facility is so warm and inviting with such a friendly and helpful staff. This is definitely the place that I would want my husband to be when the time comes.

Atria Forest Lake has some of the hardest working & devoted employees in the industry. For those of you who caught the cold wind of our southern winter storm here at Forest Lake it was quite an experience. All of our employees went above & beyond staying over, working long shifts, & running like crazy to prepare for any & everything.... One employee stuck it out despite all four grooling days & nights & is the reason why our families decide to bring thier parents to Forest Lake. This employee left her own family at home & toughed it out with all of us here at Forest Lake. We were all exhausted, but thanks to Leigh Ann Hamby we were all prepared, well fed, highly entertained, & experienced one of the best team building events ever!

My mom was at Atria Forest Lake from 2009-2010. We had such a great experience ! She was the ambassador for Atria and was involved in the community there. I have always said that Atria reminded me of a cruise ship....the facilities and grounds are beautiful , the food wonderful and the staff are all up beat , helpful and sincerely care about the residents. Mom had to be hospitalized in the fall of 2010 and was in the hospital for months. The hospital released us and we had to go to a skilled nursing facility .For the next three years my mother , who has Alzheimers either laid in a bed or was mostly unresponsive in a wheelchair. This January 2014 , mom was admitted into the hospital with pneumonia for comfort and care and then onto Hospice House for end of life care....miraculously after weeks of watching my mother on deaths door...we were finally able to get back to Atria....almost overnight my mother began to respond.....it has been less than a month and my mother is a miracle....she is holding her utensils and feeding herself , communicating in full sentences , moving her wheelchair with her feet.....and most shocking of all....she has begun to use a walker and is taking her first steps since 2010....I owe all of this to love , prayer and the care she has recieved in this safe haven called Atria! I would like to personally thank Wendy Pohorence and Tammy Melton who are responsible for making it possible for my mom to come back to Atria and therefore back to thriving.....back to life !

I am the Director of Culinary here at Atria Forest Lake. At Forest Lakes we CARE about our residents. I am always in the dining room with our residents getting feed back. I have gotten some of our best dishes coming from family recipes that have been given to us. Mostly I am in the dining room to make sure our residents are following a recommended diet. Our residents are my family as I am here more than at home. I care deeply for their well being. My kitchen staff has compassion for cooking and we strive everyday to make sure we produce the best quality foods available to us.

My dear dad has lived at Atria for nearly a decade. As a daughter at a distance, I can say its often frightening to be so far away. But thanks to my sister, who oversees just about every aspect of his life, and the trustworthy, marvelous staff of professionals at Atria, I am pleased with the life he has found there. The endless hours that are put forth by each employee is an example of what team work is all about. The reputation of the Engage Life Program and Director Anne Abel is why Dad has called Atria home, for quite some time (more than a decade). Dad began in Assisted Living, having followed a new found friend to Atria. They had a few years together, enjoying life with Atria. As Dad's needs changed, he moved to Life Guidance, a smaller community with focus on dementia care. Atria continues to engage Dad, individually and as part of a group and we all rejoice when he blows us a kiss. Anne Abel and Dee Cote have known my Dad and cared for him during his entire tenure. Thank you for the continuity of such a personal relationship. The Engage Life program is outstanding.

Home away from home! All the employees are like family and best friends. If ever we need anything they are always just a friendly call away, whiether I'm stuck in a pickle & can't get momma to the Dr. or I just need reservations for 20 or so of the closest family for Thankgiving dinner with Angella's famous pictures... Rosa always has a way of reaching out & touching the heart of those around her with her warm smile & her caring heart. The staff here at Atria Forest Lake that we call our family are the reason I why I this is the only place for my mother, my heart, my life..... I love you all very much & were thankful for all you do everyday!! Although this system was not user friendly & was quite stressfull indeed, so thank you Angella for making this review even possible!

Atria is a beautiful facility, nice close location, and the small size provides a family-like feeling community. Great activities director, who tries to keep them busy with activities and always has a smile. Dee is a compassionate, caring person who entertains on the piano and guides good exercise regularly. Nice new nurse, who realizes the staff needs accountability and is working hard to educate and facilitate change to make it a better place. Looking forward to the improvement and having a five star facility in the neighborhood soon. There are some wonderful staff members and the few who need training or just a job can bring the atmosphere down. Suggest a handbook of basic info so staff and residents are able to obtain consistent rules-information. It is a daunting task, of caring for our elderly; additional staff may be needed to accomplish the job in a respectable, caring way. I love the facility and would offer to volunteer or help anyway possible to make it the best it can be.
