I can't say enough how happy I am while moving my 91 yr old mom to this great place. Lead staff went out of there way to assist with any and all inquiries. The maintenance staff made the place feel like 'home' as they hung her photos, paintings, and wall mounted her TV. She maintained a 3 story townhouse on her own after my dad passed and it was just too much maintenance. Now she has 3 full meals a day, snacks n drinks all day and the residents have been welcoming. After being alone for 1.5 years she is enjoying the socializing and company. Very happy with this choice and highly recommend it for anyone considering independent living in a basically all inclusive environment. Heck..me and my BFF may sell our homes and move into a 2br unit.. the place even has a bar and happy hour and the food on daily menu is excellent. Well worth a look. We did have to wait a while for a studio unit but well worth it. Thank you for making this big transition easier

(see follow up at end) A mixed experience on my recent visit to a resident friend (I traveled cross country). Prior to my visit, my telephone interactions with staff was great. Kudos to Tammy and Maria. At the site, the front desk was helpful but "indifferent". My friends room (nursing section) was just "ok", could have been cleaner and the linens were of low quality and maintenance. The breakfast area was unattended and about 4 residents there were awaiting coffee, breakfast, etc. with no staff for over 20 minutes. I went to the front desk to report the issue an she called "the kitchen". About 10 minutes later another "indifferent" staffer showed and put an unheated plate of eggs/toast/bacon in front of my friend (the plates had been sitting in the prep area covered with plastic wrap for over 30 minutes). I'm investigating alternative living for my friend. This is not a place for "recovery". Owner (see below) reply asked if I would contact them to review further. I did via email asking that they provide a # and contact for me. I have heard nothing more. I have pictures to share with them to provide more context to my review.

Wendy in the sales office was fantastic to work with when searching for a the right assisted living for my mother. We had some issues with the rehab facility my mom was at previously but Wendy went there to deal with the issues and meet my mom. Wendy worked well with me on budgets and getting the right fitting placement for her. Once my mom got to TR@W I had not seen her smile so much in the nearly 5 years since my dad passed. Each staff member spent time with her personally to make her feel at home. The other residents were extremely welcoming. Unfortunately she passed after only a month, but it was well worth it.

Although I am a resident I haven't moved in yet. I have so many questions about the Residence and am always calling Wendy Bryner (Sales Diredtor) for the answers. Wendy is kind, patient, and knowldegeable about the Residence. Her demeanor is such that I know that I made the correct decision when chosing The Resiidence at Whitehall to be my new home!

My mom has been at the Residence at Whitehall for a little over a month now, and all I can say is, She Absolutely Loves living there!! Everyone is so friendly. I have even met a few people and they all talk to me. My mom feels at Home and has even said, "I feel like I've lived here for years!" She has made so many friends already. And the Staff, very nice people, easy to talk to and always there if I have a question. Thank you Residence at Whitehall for welcoming my mom and making her move a great experience.

My mom has lived in both "Personal Care" (i.e. assisted living) and Independent Living here. The apartments are spacious. Most of the apartments on the first floor (independent living) even have patios. The hallways are bright and wide; in touring some other communities, this was not the case. They have a covered driveway in front of the main door which is nice when picking up or dropping off a resident in inclement weather. There is plenty of parking overall though you may have to walk if you don't get one of the spots on the main door side of the building. They have a sign-in/out system for residents and guests as well as call buttons on a necklace for residents, even in Independent Living. There are also emergency pull cords in the bathrooms. There are free laundry rooms on each of the 3 Independent Living floors; laundry is included in Personal Care. The main dining room is pretty large and serves 3 meals a day. There is a bistro that has snacks, cereal, and some leftovers. They have a "bar" area where they have Happy Hours on Friday afternoon. There's also a popcorn machine, a fresh fruit flavored water dispenser, and pool table on the main entrance level (which is actually the 2nd floor); it tends to be a hang out area for a lot of people. A lot of the staff have been working there for several years. They know the residents by name and take time to learn about them. My mom was an art teacher and after learning that, they added an art class as one of the activities. Speaking of activities, they offer several things daily. There is also a nice library on the 4th floor (Personal Care) that any resident can use. It has a TON of puzzles which is something my mom likes to do. There are about 100 residents between the 4 floors. The average age of the residents is probably 85 though there are a number of younger residents. Unlike at a lot of retirement communities, I feel like there are more men here than in many places but it is still primarily female residents. Overall, I have been very pleased with the Residence at Whitehall and trust that they will continue to take good care of my mother. I would recommend that if you are looking for a community for your loved one, you should definitely check them out. 🙂

My mom has lived at the Residence at Whitehall in both personal care (assisted living) and independent living. The accommodations are very nice with big apartments and the building is well appointed. The management is attentive. Front Desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The nursing staff up in personal care was tremendous. They plan some really nice special events. Lack of green space is a factor, but they do have a lovely back porch that has a nice sitting area and view. I think they do a very good job looking after my mom. It's clean, safe, and I think a nice place for her to be at this stage in her life.

It was such a hard decision to move my parents to a senior community living style but it was the BEST thing I ever did for them! The place and the people could not have asked for anything better. The life enrichment director (Lori) is amazing! She keeps everyone busy, entertained and happy. They play games, have happy hours, and have a nice community feeling where everyone looks out for each other. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great home for their parents or for themselves.

My Aunt has been living in the Residence of Whitehall 7 weeks. Since she moved in everyone including the staff and the residents have been welcoming, friendly and has made her feel at home and very glad she has made this move. I Just had to update my post at Christmas the Residence of Whitehall had a party for all of their residents and their families. They had a huge crowd and everyone went out of there way to make it a success. I cannot say enough how wonderful this place is. It is such a bright happy place to be. I am thankful she is in such a caring establishment.

My dad recently moved in at The Residence at Whitehall, and we were able to visit him. It's a lovely place. His room is the perfect size for him, with the amenities he requires for his disabilities, the food looked and smelled fantastic, and everyone on staff that we interacted with were so nice. It makes me very happy and relieved that he is in an environment that is so beneficial to him as he ages.

No balconies. Set East/West. Sun hits long West side all afternoon. Very little green space. If your needs are few, this would suffice. It is a nice, new building. I did not go inside.

I am so relieved that I have found The Residence at Whitehall. After much time and effort spent trying to find just the right new home for my grandma, I finally found the perfect place for her to call home! Wendy was so incredibly patient and understanding of all of our concerns, needs and went above and beyond to address all of our questions. I am so grateful that I have finally found someone who understands and has personally experienced this difficult situation with a loved one. Her thoughtfulness, attention to details important to my grandma, along with the fact that she spent so much time with me introducing me to the staff, who are incredible as well and made the choice to place my grandma here an easy one! Thank you for everything you have helped me with and continue to help with!! You are a lifesaver and a Godsend!

Our Mom moved into the Residence of Whitehall when she was 97. She's 99 now, and I can honestly say living there has extended not only her life, but the quality of her life. Every member of the staff is so warm, caring, and considerate of the residents and their families. They genuinely care for their charges. You can feel the love. Our Mom moved because it wasn't safe for her to live alone anymore once she started falling. Even though she wore a Life Alert button at her home, it took at least 10 minutes for the closest one of us to get to her. She was afraid. At the Residence, it takes a staff member only two minutes to arrive once the button is pushed. My siblings and I feel enormous relief knowing our Mother will get immediate assistance if she falls or needs help. The best part is our Mom feels secure and isn't afraid to live independently anymore. There is a beautiful sense of community among the residents and staff. They all look out for each other. It's lovely. A special shout out goes to Enrichment Coordinator, Lori Pifer! She is so creative! She keeps them all busy with activities, games, cookie baking, super fun happy hours with musical entertainment, and holiday celebrations to name just a few. She is always ready and willing to add whatever suggestions the Residents may have to make them feel at home and happy. She's a gem. If you or your loved one is looking for a caring, independent living community, I highly recommend the Residence of Whitehall.

Dear Friends and Readers: My Mom was a resident at the Residence at Whitehall for nearly a year. Besides being the perfect home’ for Mother at a time when she needed constant care, the Residence was an inviting, clean special place for all of us. The administration and nursing staff were superb. They treated all of us like family. They saw us through some very tough times. The staff was outstanding! They made sure that my Mom was clean, well fed and socially active. The took special care with her appearance since they knew that was important to her. When the pandemic started, they were totally transparent. Each shift would arrange FaceTime so that we could stay connected. I would call several times a day and everyone would let me know that Mom was doing well and participating in activities. Unfortunately, Mom lost her battle with dementia in June. At the end, the staff stayed with her ( and me) 24/7. I would come and find them sleeping on the floor so she wouldn’t be alone. I read some of these reviews and honestly don’t know what facility some are you are talking about. The Residence at Whitehall is a wonderful venue and the staff will forever be family.
