Reviews Legend of Allentown
July 2026
The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The building was exceptionally clean and well organized, and I loved its authentic vintage charm and character.

I toured Legend of Allentown this morning and WOW! This place is incredible! Super clean, extremely friendly staff who genuinely cares about the residents and will go above and beyond for everyone they encounter. Staff that had the biggest impact on my tour was Tyler Fisher who is a true asset to this facility and loves what he does, he gave the best tour and explained everything in such detail that I didn’t have any questions when I was leaving. Another stand out staff member is Leslie over in Memory Care. She radiates positivity and passion for what she does! I highly recommend Legend of Allentown to anyone in need of placement for themselves or loved ones. I know I’d choose Legend of Allentown for my loved ones. Thank you Tyler!

From initial conversation to unfortunately end of life, the team at Legend showed me and my family respect and quality care. Tyler was excellent with follow through and taking concerns seriously and acting immediately. Showing our family his respect at our family members funeral is a true depiction of his character and the heart of the team at Legend. Thank you for showing us what senior living should look like!

Legend is a beautiful and well managed facility, And thought of very highly by all of the families whom I have helped place.

My family and I had the pleasure of touring Legend of Allentown with Tyler. Their approach to Senior Living provides independence, dignity, safety and pieced of mind in a BEAUTIFUL facility with modern amenities. The passion and respect I witnessed from Tyler while on tour was reassuring and heartwarming and I knew we chose the right place for my dad!

Legend of Allentown is indeed aesthetically pleasing, and there are some outstanding staff members. Before relocating your loved one, consider the following: 1. How many resident directors have there been in the last three years? 2. Sample their "Gold Leaf Dining Experience" by trying a few meals. 3. Ask about the permanent to temporary staff ratio. 4. Inquire about continuity of care and communication between shifts. 5. Ask about their "Census Policy." 6. Call the main number after 8 pm to check responsiveness. Our heartfelt thanks go to Jason, Pam, Susan, Jill, Cheryl, Lesley, and Amy, who truly care about residents and families. I hope you get a new director who values their staff and treats the residents with humanity.

I recently visited Legend of Allentown, and I was thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness of the community. I visited several other communities in the past and couldn't get past the trash in the parking lot and how the building didn't smell fresh and clean. Legend of Allentown definitely takes pride in their community. The staff also seemed very engaged with the residents. The care staff were knocking on resident doors to see if they wanted to participate in Happy Hour. It was great to see residents engaging with either other and making new friends. Kudos to Legend of Allentown!!

Moved my mom in back in May, staff are all very friendly and helpful. I visit two to three times a week and the staff all know me by name. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home even if you're only visiting. If you're looking for a place for an elderly relative I strongly suggest checking out legend of Allentown!

Staci, the Sales Director, truly goes above and beyond to assist families with the overwhelming decision to move into a community. Her genuine warmth and compassion allows families to immediately connect with her. I have worked professionally with her to assist in the move in process. She has visit with our clients in the hospital on her way home from work not just to add an extra smile, but to add reassurance they are in good hands with her. Staci’s professional manner and care for residents doesn’t end at the day of move in. She’s an invaluable resource for families and an amazing team member.

Always a wonderful experience walking into this community. Always so positive and friendly

We had our dad at Legend for memory care, and overall, our experience was very positive. The facility itself is beautiful ” spacious, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. The rooms are large and bright, which made a big difference in helping our dad feel more comfortable. The courtyards are especially lovely; they’re peaceful and well-maintained, offering a safe and calming space for residents to get fresh air. The food was another highlight ” consistently good, with variety and attention to individual preferences and needs. It was reassuring to know our dad was eating well. What meant the most to us, though, were the staff members who truly cared. There were several incredibly sweet and compassionate caregivers who went out of their way to connect with our dad and treat him with dignity. That personal touch is something you can’t put a price on. No place is perfect, and of course, there were occasional hiccups, but knowing our dad was in a clean, safe, and kind environment made a difficult chapter a little bit easier. We’re grateful to Legend for the care they provided.

My mother-in-law recently moved to Legend. When we first toured Legend she liked the place well enough and the staff was welcoming. After she moved in, it was hard for me to tell how well she was adjusting and how she was being treated. Two months after moving into to Legend, I came from across the country for a visit to see for myself. On arrival I could instantly see how well she had transitioned and how happy and healthy she was. Over several days I could see how friendly and engaged the staff was. Not just to my mother-in-law but with all the residents. The staff are genuinely caring, funny and all-around supportive. I’ve been able to engage with the restaurant staff, maintenance staff, enrichment staff, residence staff and even the Sales Director who originally toured us around the property. All knew my mother-in-law’s name and her personal story. Everyone has been so helpful and caring. Looking back, I wish we would have brought my mother-in-law to Legend sooner. She is happier now than she had been in a while. She has friends her age that have similar experiences and she is engaged in many activities throughout the property. She is eating more regularly and it is nutritious, tasty food. Also, with her medical needs being addressed on site I know she is getting regular physical therapy and her medications are safely being administered (no doubling up or forgetting to take medications). Legend was the right move for our family. Now when my mother-in-law doesn’t answer my call I don’t worry that she may have fallen or is injured. Now I only wonder what adventure she is on.

My father recently moved to Legend of Allentown. If you’ve been in the position of transitioning your parent into an independent living facility, you know how fraught with anxiety it can be. Legend of Allentown made this transition as easy as possible. From the daily activities to the caring, helpful staff, my dad’s days are now filled with fun, laughter, and conversation. I am so grateful to Legend and its staff for helping us through this transition. I would recommend it to anyone searching for a new home for their loved one. I promise, they will truly feel at home with the wonderful people who work there.

Ryan Gallagher, the residence director at Legend of Allentown is a positive leader to the staff at Legend. He is a good listener and attends to any concerns brought to him in a timely manner. The family atmoshere the staff creates at Legend is best described by my family member's words "everybody knows your name". Beautifully kept facility, good dining room experiences and pleasant atmosphere.

The staff at the memory care unit is nasty and rude to residents is a SHAME if you aren't a caring person why you even work in this places.

April 2025
I’m so thankful for Legend of Allentown - the staff here is top-notch - they're caring, friendly, and genuinely seem to care about the residents. From the nurses to the caregivers to the activities team, everyone's always smiling and willing to lend a hand. They take the time to get to know you as a person, not just a resident, and that's really special. The community truly feels like a family.

Here's a possible Google review: "5 stars! The staff at Legend of Allen Town truly care about the residents. They're friendly, attentive, and go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. My grandmother has been living here for 3 years and always speaks highly of the staff's kindness and compassion. Highly recommend!"

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Legend of Allentown, and I was truly impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that permeates this personal care home. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by kind and compassionate staff who made me feel like I was part of the family. The community itself is beautiful, with comfortable and well-maintained living spaces that exude a sense of warmth and hospitality. The staff are dedicated to providing top-notch care and support to each resident, and it shows in the way they interact with them. What really stood out to me, however, was the sense of community that exists here. The residents seem to genuinely enjoy each other's company, and the staff do an excellent job of fostering a sense of belonging and connection among them. Overall, I would highly recommend Legend of Allentown to anyone looking for a personal care home that truly feels like home. The staff are exceptional, the community is beautiful, and the sense of warmth and welcome is palpable.

My mom was one of the first patients in the memory care unit. She was very happy and enjoyed the staff. She was well cared for. As her health declined, they were quick to notice changes. This last time, she had a massive heart attack but was able to return to her room at Legends with hospice helping staff and pass in a place she considered home.

My dad absolutely loves his new home. Dementia diagnosis can be a challenge, he acclimated very quickly, which was not anticipated. He enjoys family visits- we can actually leave without feeling guilty- which is huge for my family. Dad loves all sports- the director of maintenance also follows/enjoys many sports- it's wonderful to see him engaged in conversation he is excited about. The facility is modern, very clean and the staff is approachable as well as knowledgeable- all boxes checked!

Recently took a tour of the facility to see if this was the right place for our loved ones. First impressions are a big thing and this place is very well maintained. Common areas are clean and current residents seemed to be relatively happy with being there which was a plus to see first hand. Rooms were clean and a good size to live comfortably. We had the pleasure to meet and talk to the current Health Care Director to ask a few questions and concerns we had. After speaking with her we could tell she truly cares for the people there. She made us feel comfortable with the way she answered and responded to our concerns.

We moved my mom into Legend a few years ago. She has made some very nice friendships, and truly enjoys living here. She feels safe and is very well cared for. No long term independent living community is perfect, however, this one is wonderful. The staff cares very much about the residents and it shows. I visit quite often and have seen first hand, the interaction of aids and residents. I really could not ask for more from them. Mom is very well cared for. The building is beautiful and very well maintained. Jason the maintenance supervisor, does a fabulous job keeping everything up and running, clean and sparkling. The new staff in the activities department, is doing a nice job getting a busy schedule of activities going again. I am very happy with Legend of Allentown and look forward to more good things from the new staff. Hope Reiss

I am delighted to share my wonderful experience with Virginia (she told me I can call her Vicky). From the moment Vicky stepped into our lives, it was clear that she was not just there to perform a job, but to truly make a difference in my in-laws life. Vicky's warm and friendly personality instantly put my in law at ease, and their bond quickly blossomed. Vicky has a unique ability to connect with the residents, showing genuine empathy and understanding. AMAZING is an understatement.

Beautiful Senior Living Community with wonderful staff that deeply cares for its residents!
January 2025
My mother-in-law passed away last night after five plus years at the Legend Of Allentown. She was an original founder and enjoyed many years of comfort here. The staff was remarkable. For many years and through her final hour, they were catering to her beyond the needs that I would ever expect for an independent living facility. Things cannot always be perfect in these facilities, but it was clear that everyone there cares for one another. And what everyone searches for in life is love and support. And You will find it here! In addition to the people who moved here as residents, creating lasting friendships with mom, the wonderful and caring staff members, did as well. They created a community of love and support which offered my mother-in-law, and our family, much relief, as well as much love. We will forever be grateful to the residents and the staff at the Legend Of Allentown for the outpouring of love that they displayed to our mother, especially in her final hours. We would also like to recognize with high praise, the care team for hospice that did a phenomenal job in her final weeks of life. We pray that God watches over the residents and staff at the Legend, and helps them on their journey through life. God bless you all! Sincerely, the Family of Rose Tauber

The facility should be rated on the complete experience from the patient care to the food to the ambience to the accommodations and of course, the medical professionals that run these organizations legend at Allentown is run by caring, dedicated professionals working for an organization Who truly care about the residents of their facilities? I would give this facility two thumbs up and five stars

I have a family member who lives here and I can honestly say that the care she receives is wonderful. My grandmother is always well kept, her laundry is always done, her room is always spotless, and always given her medication in a timely manner. Staff is very friendly and caring. The health care directors are kind and compassionate and truly cares about the residents needs. The floor staff are helpful and accommodating. The resident director, Kim is enabling real change that benefits both residents and their families. She has brought events the residents love such as a beach pool party and an ice cream party. I can say with pleasure that I am confident that my family member is in good hands.

My dad and I enrolled my mom in the memory care unit at the Legend facility in May of 2024. Before she moved in, we took the tour and asked lots of questions to be sure it would be a good fit for all parties. We were given assurances that my mom would have a 1:1 staff for the first week to help acclimate to the new setting and have plenty of activities to keep her busy. But that never happened. In fact, no one bothered to contact us after the first week to even ask how things were going. Needless to say that was concerning, especially since we brought my mom home after a few days and nobody noticed. As far as their activities - they had Music Memories class, but no staff were present. They had an mp3 device playing music while 2 residents sat beside it fast asleep. Then later we observed their Stretching/Exercise class and once again, no staff present. There was a DVD player and TV showing some lady doing exercises while the small group of residents sat in front of it. Another day we visited and wanted to join in an arts activity, but it was cancelled. Just keep in mind, there are only activities between 9am-4pm each day so residents who wake early or stay up late are out of luck. Regarding the staffing, this wasn't just some random occurrence - each day we visited, there was hardly any staff to be seen on the unit. And when we did notice them, they were cleaning the bathroom or giving medication. The sad reality is that we regularly saw the residents wandering around aimlessly or sleeping in a chair/sofa with no staff around. We also encountered a lack of transparency from management regarding the staffing ratio, which was a red flag. They claimed that they couldn't give us any information since the occupancy levels changed periodically. Making matters worse, on one particular day my dad visited and was going to join my mom for dinner. However, no staff were present and residents were growing restless, so my dad had to visit the front desk to remind them to feed the residents. Their excuse - there was a staff meeting. I can't help but wonder how long the residents would have waited to be fed if my dad didn't intervene. We really had our hopes up, but In the end we removed my mom from Legend soon after moving in because we simply felt she wasn't safe there due to the lack of staffing. Considering that she enjoyed going out into the courtyard, it really worried us that she (or any resident) might fall and there would be no staff around to help her. Mind you, the facility is state of the art, nicely decorated and clean. However, it's by far the most expensive in the area at $8000/month for memory care (plus a $2500 one time fee). But what good is a beautiful facility for your loved one when there's not enough staff to keep them safe or stimulated?

My mother has lived in the memory care side for a year. The place is beautiful and Leslie and Jason both have a heart of gold. Leslie keeps the residents moving with games, movies and activities and she provides them with drinks and a snack when she is working. When she is not there, I’ve never seen a mid afternoon snack or glass of water offered to anyone. Jason keeps the place maintained and will do whatever he can to help residents and families at Legend. The reason for the low score is despite the sales office telling us my mother would be showered twice a week, it rarely gets done. She is resistant and staff doesn’t have any tools to make sure she is clean. She mostly sleeps in her clothes and is often wearing the same thing for days and days. Laundry can’t wash clothes separately. Despite how many times they say things are changing, it continues to happen. So you often get someone else’s stained underwear in the basket. Many items of clothing and bedding and towels have gone missing. I’ve seen a woman known to not be able to feed herself sitting in the dining room without her food touched. No one was feeding her. The others were beginning to leave the room and she just sat there. Since the new director arrived, two girls are always sitting or leaning and not doing anything. No one else is visible in the halls. I can only guess how infrequently the diapers are changed. There is no one in charge that walks through and makes sure the staff is working. No management is in the dining rooms seeing how people who are entrusted to their care are being fed or not. The new nursing person for memory care put up curtains in his windows so no one can see him. There are some nice people who work there. It is a hard job. But it is not a place to be if your loved one is more advanced in their dementia journey.

Very impressive decorations and facility. Don't be fooled by it's looks. Staff is forever turning over, even the directors, nursing and care givers. Young workers who seem to be more interested in being on their phones or chatting with each other . My mother was here for about 7 months. Several incidents involving bruises and falls. All unwitnessed. The last fall resulted in a broken hip and vertebrae. I could not bring her back after her hip replacement. Stay away from the memory care side. I can't speak on the assisted living side.

The Legend of Allentown is a great place to live. Time and again I feel welcomed and included when I visit here. The care the residents receive is top notch, and there is always something to do. Their memory care set up is lovely, and allows for quiet reflection and vibrant programming as well. I love to visit for their featured musician performances each week! So grateful for this community.

July 2022
I started working at Legend in Allentown, very enthusiastically, on June 16th, 2020. I was hired as part time evenings, my hours, being 4:30 to 8:00 PM every other weekend and three to four days a week. I had been hired earlier, but the hours and protocol had changed, that I decided not to take the job. When the pandemic hit and I lost my job and saw that the job I had applied for at Legends was still open, I decided to apply again. I was hired for approximately 20 hours a week including every other weekend and holidays which I had no problem with. Shortly after I started working, I was asked to work more hours than I was hired for. Having a physical disability, which I disclosed when I was hired, made it difficult. My manager knew that I also had to take care of my great-aunt which made it difficult to be at work sometimes, but I was always there within 5-10 minutes of starting my shift. I was given a list of chores to have finished each night. When I would take care of those chores I would be chastised by my manager for being away from my desk, even if it was to go to the ladies room. In the approximate year that I worked for Legend, I filled in 25+ days of either extra hours or days that I was supposed to have off (I still have all my schedules). Not to mention every time they asked me to come in for someone who called off, I took the shift. I was chastised for talking to myself (which was quietly talking to myself to keep my responsibilities on task) which was always called out by my manager. I know that there were times when I was late for work, and I explained why that was a problem. When I notified my managers why I was having some problems because of my lack of memory, they told me that they would do what they could to get me help to mitigate the problem, but I never got a response or help. I truly loved my job and the residents and my hours and did what I could to be more successful at my job. In the year that I worked there, there were at least four people that were turned over at my job, but I just couldn't give up, because I loved my job. It wasn't until my work ethics were questioned that I threw in my hat. I loved my job, I took tests on Relias that weren't even conducive to my position, but I passed them all. I did that to show my commitment to my job. I am truly sorry for walking out, but I felt I had no one behind me to stand up for my work other than the residents, and I didn't want them to have to be put in a position to speak against the administration.

My father has been a resident at Legend for the past several months and we couldn’t be happier with his care. The facility is state of the art (heads and shoulders above other facilities I visited) and the staff is extremely caring and compassionate. Even in these trying times, all the staff has stepped up to make sure residents needs are met. Just after a couple of weeks of living there, my father referred to Legend as home. I visit almost everyday and have gotten to know a lot of the residents and staff. There are days I wish I could move inLOL

My mother resides at Legend. They take such nice and individual attention to their residents. As an example, my mom had not seen her grandson since before Covid. He was to come in last night for a birthday dinner and got stuck in NYC traffic, not making into town until late last night which was a disappointment to my 85 year old mom who had really looked forward to it. Everyone was so helpful at Legend today to pivot to make it possible for our family to eat (safely) together over lunch and still celebrate--Carrie is such a delight in service in the dining room--there are too many wonderful people to name. What a great team of care providers. Would recommend to anyone. Safe and skilled.

I’m not sure what Mr. Maxon is talking about, I believe he is a family member from out of state. I moved my Mom to Legend from another community, visit every day, and find the staff to be caring and competent. It’s a shame that more people click like for a negative comment, then for a positive review. Visit the place and decide for yourself!

Glad Mom is here, she is one of the first to move in. Safe environment, lots of activities, she is proud of her room, and staff many times asked if she minds if they show her room to future residents. Still could use a better selection of meals, but they came a long way since opening.

what a great community - fabulous care and activities for me family member. The Memory Care is big, unlike other facilities that I visited - lots to do and the team is caring.

My father is a new resident, and the staff has warmly welcomed him with respect and care and recognized him as a vibrant, lively senior.
