Reviews Magnolias of Lancaster
April 2026
I had a family member here for close to three years. As management turned over twice, the care declined further and further. The price went up as the quality of care decreased. They would lose medications, rooms were filthy, and they had no idea my loved one had increased incontinence. When I needed paperwork filled out for benefits and when I ultimately moved him, it took months to weeks. I could go on, but I do not recommend Magnolias. Do your research.

My mother, age 82, has lived at Magnolias for 6 months. She has had her ups and downs and with every step, the staff at Magnolias has worked with me to make sure my mom is getting the best care. The staff at Magnolia’s really love the residents and it shows. I can tell they genuinely love my mom. I am so happy I found Magnolias!
February 2026
My 82 year old father was privileged to stay for a month on respite care at Magnolias of Lancaster while my family was out of town. This was our first experience trusting his care to anyone but our family members and we felt that he was compassionately cared for by a staff that was attentive, kind, and welcoming to him. He enjoyed the staff and other residents and all the activities that were planned for him. I love how the entire staff was familiar with his routines and got to know him as an individual. We plan to use their respite service again later this year and I am confident that my father will receive the same excellent care. Thank you to the staff of Magnolias of Lancaster.

I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful community. There is a variety of activities. Staff is kind, friendly and attentive.

As a home care professional, I have had the pleasure of touring this community. During my visit, I appreciated the ongoing activities, attentive staff, & many family members visiting their loved ones. The team at Magnolias supports seniors with advanced memory care needs - the environment that they have created caters to those needs. From the small aviary, life enrichment stations, & floor plan, the attention to detail does not go unnoticed. The management team is also extremely welcoming & supportive. I would recommend this community to those in need of memory care assistance.

I am a geriatric care manager and toured the facility to help my clients find appropriate care. Magnolias will be on my list for families that are looking for memory care for their loved ones.

I can speak to Magnolias' excellence in patient care from a personal and professional perspective. In 2010 we were searching for a memory care solution for my father and toured the facility. We were very impressive by the design of the community - geared towards their residents with a circular traffic plan with nostalgia rooms for them to explore and group activities. I now am a proud partner of Magnolias as an Amedisys Hospice Liaison and have been impressed by their teams' commitment for excellence and responsive with their valued residents. I would encourage anyone seeking a 100% memory care, intimate environment for your loved to schedule a tour with Magnolias.

My mother was a resident of Magnolias for several year before she passed. My mother and father both were in memory care the last several years of their lives. I wish that I would have known Magnolias when my father was still alive. Leslie and her staff gave us great communication, I always felt that the staff genuinely cared for my mother and that they had her best interest at heart. As hard as it is to see a loved one deteriorate - I am thankful my mothers last couple of years were at Magnolias

Magnolias has been a blessing for our family when my mother needed enhanced Dementia care. The staff from the CEO on down is caring, friendly, and responsive. They are constantly doing activities and even outings with the residents and it is so great to see the new activities being posted on their facebook page and family weekly emails. The staff make the difference at Magnolias! I have seen the great care from the nursing staff and resident care staff and they are responsive to provide care. It is hard to see your loved one in a memory care facility, but it is reassuring to know that they are safe, well fed, and enjoying time spent on the many daily activities. Dementia and ALZ diagnosis is heartbreaking; it is refreshing to know that this facility is solely focused on memory care through the entire journey which can change on a daily basis. I typically don't post many reviews, but seeing some of the negative reviews below, it is important to provide another perspective since I would give more than 5 stars if possible.

During my research of memory care facilities for my wife which included online searches, phone calls and tours I was given the impression that Magnolias of Lancaster should be considered as a last resort. This was due to Magnolias having aggressive residents and therefore more frequent incidents according to other facilities. I thought I should evaluate Magnolias for myself. Since my phone call to Magnolias to obtain information was positive, I arranged a tour. I did not see aggressive behavior among the residents. My tour was positive, and my wife moved into Magnolias. She was a resident for six months until she passed away. The impression/description of aggressive behavior among the residents I had previously been given concerning Magnolias of Lancaster could not have been further from the truth. The care she received was excellent. Everyone was always helpful from the health care staff, management and maintenance personnel. The staff was very compassionate. I had no worries about my wife's care and well-being while at Magnolias. Since I visited my wife every other day, I believe my impressions are accurate. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Magnolias of Lancaster without any hesitation.

Magnolias Of Lancaster is an outstanding memory care community. Six years ago, my mother-in-law left her care facility of several years to go to Magnolias specifically. And our family was pleased with the care she received then. At the same time, I was becoming quite concerned about what my own mother’s progressive memory issues might bring when the time came for her to move to memory care. She was fiercely independent, was not a joiner, and took well to other people rarely if ever. Then, a complex set of circumstances suddenly forced an almost immediate move for her. But, in the thick of it all, Magnolias Of Lancaster was there for us. Leslie and Lizz were informative and completely effective problem-solvers who helped us coordinate my mothers move in ways that enabled it to proceed as easily, smoothly, and successfully as possible for her. And, from that point on, it became clear to us that, as good as Magnolias was during my mother-in-law’s time there as a resident, it had become even better. First of all, Magnolias has an excellent staff-to-patient ratio and, equally important, it does not hire contract workers. This has allowed for the staff to maximize their familiarity with my mom and to really get to know her and develop a highly personalized care plan distinctly tailored to her. Also, the relatively small size of the community allows for an emotionally safe and caring family atmosphere, not only between staff and residents but also among the residents themselves. In turn, my mother has thrived in this environment from almost the moment she arrived. We have seen her engage with people and in activities in ways that we have never seen before. She has formed friendships with other residents (and is very invested in their happiness and concerns as well). Most importantly, she has done so with true joy and enthusiasm”in part, because the activities are quite well-conceived and, in part, because each and every staff member knows my mom, engages caringly and supportively with her, and has an excellent sense of who she is. And we know this because Victoria, Dianna, Amanda and Brittany have all reached out with updates, pictures, etc. and because Leslie, Lizz, and Sarah have been available to answer any questions we have had with an incredible sense of familiarity, sensitivity, and understanding. When we first reached out toMagnolia’s director, Leslie, she told us that its goal was to help its residents to live their best lives. And that is exactly what my mother has been doing”living her best life”thanks to Magnolias Of Lancaster.

When you first hear the diagnosis that your loved one has dementia/alzheimers you're heartbroken and you realize you need help caring for that person, Magnolias of Lancaster has been the answer in so many ways, the entire staff is so professional, kind, and compassionate. It's been great to see my wife engaged in activities and with the amazing women who take care of her, I appreciate you all so much, I highly recommend this memory care facility for any family looking to have a loved one taken care of at the highest level. I'm so thankful my wife Gloria is a resident there

My stepmom has been at Magnolias since August 2024 and she’s been doing great. We absolutely love the staff and how much they take care of her and her needs. She is involved in some activities and loves her girls! We love the atmosphere and layout of Magnolias! It’s been great for her since she loves to walk. She seems happy and content and loves her snacks! Thank you to all the staff who help her and make this transition easier for me and my Dad.

If you are looking for a place with top notch care for your loved one Magnolias is it! They took great care of my father when he was a resident there. My father suffered from dementia and I was relieved to know he was in a facility that cared as much as they did. When I would visit my father there were always activities going on that kept the residents busy and the caring, kind compassionate words I heard from the workers at Magnolias were genuine. The facility was bright, cheery and well kept. I was always able to communicate with the workers if I had any questions and they addressed my questions in a professional way. Thank you for taking such good care of my father during his last few years of his life. I will be forever grateful.

From the time I inquired about Magnolia of Lancaster and spoke to staff (Heather), they have gone above and beyond to educate me on the facility and services they provide. From the time our loved one became a resident she has felt very welcomed, comfortable and at home. She constantly praises the staff and services she receives. I recommend this place highly to anyone in need of this type of service.

I was blessed to have my husband spend his final months of life in the kind and loving hands of the caregivers in the Magnolias community. I was with him frequently, and during all the many hours I spent there, I never heard a harsh word toward a resident, only the kind, loving and reassuring support of both staff and management. The activities were designed to stimulate residents at every end of the spectrum. No one was left out or ignored, and the smiles and involvement of the residents were a testament to the efforts made by everyone there, from the manager to the head chef and aids. If you are thinking of placing your loved one in memory care, I would recommend Magnolias a thousand times over!

Our family had a wonderful experience with Magnolia's of Lancaster. They have a fantastic staff and their love & caring for their residents comes through with every interaction. The staff communicated regularly with us to provide updates, both good and bad, and always had recommendations for how to address changing situations with our father. We had excellent interactions with the entire team here from the front office, administrative team to the kitchen staff to the nursing and med techs and I really feel that they got to know my father and our family very well. The support was felt on Day 1 when my father was admitted, we received a video of him participating in activities that day and we saw him smiling and enjoying it. They would even make a special meal or have us bring in special snacks for my father to help with his stay and keep him comfortable. Magnolia's really understands memory care, its challenges, the dementia patient and the impact and stress dementia has on the family. The staff at Magnolia's was a true Godsend during a very stressful time for our family. I cannot thank them enough for all that they did for my father and for our family. I highly recommend Magnolia's of Lancaster.

My Mother spent the last 2 years of her life at Magnolia's. The staff truly loved her and took such good care of her. My Mother was very resistent to being at Magnolia's when she arrived. The staff was consistent with their loving care and support. My Mother loved so many of the staff members, many who have been there for years. I would recommend the small, more personal community of Magnolia's over the larger facilities. My Mother, even with her condition, maintained some individual freedom inside Magnolia's, loved the staff dearly and it gave our family such a sense of security and peace of mind. We really felt like our family mattered as well as my dear Mother. Thank you to all the staff! We will miss seeing you all on a weekly basis! God Bless!

Magnolias has helped my life abd my mom out beyond my expectations. My mother was unhappy before Magnolia only really had me and she was more then i was able to handle. I had searched though a number of places and I kept going back to how wonderful Magnolias was. My feeling was right. I moved mom in a few weeks before covid hit and even though it was a scary time and has been a scary time they really help and the commutation with family's waas amazing. They have made great strides during covid and they were able to keep everyone happy and healthy. My mom is a whole new women in there. She's happy, she has friends and she loves the staff. Any time there were any issues they called me and anytime she missed me they called me. Wonderful loving staff. Sarah had been great from the beginning as well as Emily, sandy, and others. Would highly recommend here for a bran new life for someone who needed help with there loved one. Can't imagine mom being anywhere else. Thank you staff for all your hard work

Dementia is a challenging disease, they deal with my husband in a very understanding and supportive way!
April 2019
Helping the mentally challenged people in the area. I think they would do a better job w/ a more competent person in charge, but maybe that is due to funding restrictions.
December 2018
We needed to transition my grandmother urgently after her condition was too much for another personal care center to handle. Julie and the team were eager to help and gave us advice the entire way through, especially during times that we were overwhelmed. Such a supportive and caring community. We took a few days to deliver and set the room up and each time we met a different care giver it made us feel even more comfortable knowing that they would be able to handle the complex issues that accompany the dementia diagnosis. So grateful to have found this living situation for my family.

Magnolias of Lancaster is a well-kept and organized facility that make sure that the patients are felt like they were at home. The staff take their jobs to heart to make sure all the patients are being well cared for with a loving professional manner. The staff are well trained to handled any situation. As the staff are doing amazing job with the patients, the facility itself is well kept and clean at all times. They add touches around the facility as the season change along with the holidays. I could not be any happier with Magnolias as they have become family to my loved one and myself.
August 2016
This place has potential to be great. But lack of stable management has really become a detriment to how well the facility functions. There has not been a full management team in place for over a year now and it shows. There is a consistant lack of quality activities and care for the residents is often compromised due to staffing issues. I feel as the cooperate team has not done a good job of running this place, the hands on staff are excellent and caring but can only do so much with out solid leadership.
November 2009
I would like to thank the staff at Magnolias of Lancaster for helping me through a difficult time. My husband needed residential memory care and the caring staff at Magnolias helped me through the challenges of finding just the right place that could provide quality care for my husband. The release from constant worry has given me my life back. Cindy W.
