Great place with a cozy community feel. The food is great and My mother loved living here for 6 months before we had to move her to memory care closer to my sister. The staff and residents were always nice and welcoming. The new management team is first rate and they are involved in the community. I looked a quite a few communities and we chose Cherry Park Plaza because it was a great location and felt warm, welcoming and comfortable. The apartments are a nice size with plenty of room for your furniture and very comfortable, mom’s apartment had nice views of the surrounding hills and a great view of Mt. Hood.

My mother became a resident of Cherry Park Plaza (CPP) in 2015, she recently passed. There are many reasons my family gives accolades to CPP. There are outstanding people in all areas of care and service. From head chef, Robert and his kitchen staff and servers, who prepare fabulous and varied meals (my mother is very picky so this says a LOT about Robert), to Dean who drives residents to outings, appointments, and shopping. Rosie sweetly greeted us when entering the building to visit mom. Ryan is the BEST maintenance man. Housekeeping staff is very good and activities director, Anna, keeps residents interests in mind. I so appreciate the level of care, dignity and respect staff extends to residents. It creates an inclusive environment; I felt like I had family there that included staff and residents. Often a staff member played instruments or sang for residents. Needless to say, when my mother passed, I not only lost my mother, but also the friendships of residents and staff. If I lived closer to Troutdale I would drop in from time to time to visit. I hold many memories dearly in my heart.

Great place for senior care. As of December 2018 they were going through a management change. So things are kind of up in the air right now. I do have my own mother staying there. She's happy there. But anytime you have a change in management there's always hard times.

I placed my mom and dad here in Feb 2016. My dad passed away, but my mom continues to live here and enjoys it very much. She has her own large apartment with her own furniture. She complains about bland food and cold food, but that is her only complaint. Lots of activities and road trips, and her favorite, Bingo, every Monday and Friday. Great people live here making it a great community to live. Staff and management are great. 10/18 Update: the company was sold earlier this year. Rent went up immediately. Huge turnover in employees which is disrupting to the elderly's. No one to drive the bus for activities for many months. My mom has expressed her concerns and displeasure. We may be bringing her home.

You have seen my 5 star rating and the others. ---So --- why read further? The One Right Question that follows: Finding the right place is difficult on so many levels and thus has given me great empathy for your quest. These facilities are, after all, For Profit organizations, and you, are their prize. One worries, in what sense of the word Prize will I be treated? Cherry Park Memory Care is Moms home. They prove every day that she is, in every good sense of the word, their Prize and that they are in every sense of the word good. I made the right choice. The One Right Question -- Would I place my Mom in Cherry Park if I had it to do over again? -- The answer is, YES. Ask the Real sales people: those who live here & those who have placed their love ones here. Ask about the things that only their experience can answer. You cant vet qualities in a person such as charter, honesty or sincerity without experiencing them first hand. I have experienced these things here. They have my trust. That is why I, for the first time, I have written a testimonial. P.S. When you see [a la cart or point or only pay for what you use] model of pricing for care, save yourself, trust your instincts Run. That pricing model is so granular, detail so absurd, that the pricing is without limits. For me it speaks volumes about their motives and the things I consider priceless. Consider only those with fixed levels of care such as used by Cherry Park. Fixed, no asterisk no notes no strings attached.

My mother lived about 17 months in memory care before passing. She was by most measures a difficult patient. She raged against the dying of the light. The staff at memory care always treated her with compassion and respect. They understood her disease. They were great to work with and I highly recommend Cherry Park Plaza Memory Care.

My father has been living at Cherry Park Plaza for just over two years now. I can honestly say that although this wasn't his choice -- he has dementia and probably would never have left his home had he not fallen and injured himself -- it has been the best thing for him at this stage in his life, and he is very happy living there. My two brothers and I feel like we can rest assured that he is in a safe and happy environment. With his advancing age (85) and dementia, the simpler things are for him, the better. He enjoys the movies and music and staff at Cherry Park, and we are so thankful for that. We are especially thankful for the patient and caring staff, who have taken the time to get to know my dad and his cognitive limitations, instead of becoming irritated with some of his odd behaviors. I like that Cherry Park is not so big, and the feeling there is very homey. It's clean, professional, warm, and caring. Sincerely - Carol Westfall

My Father has dementia and is blind. We moved him into Cherry Park in July of 2013. The overall care and concern from all the workers has been excellent. It is an added benefit having regular residents in the facility, who get to know him and are able to show love and concern for him. The Friday happy hour with live entertainment is always a highlight of his week. Other events and activities are always enjoyed and provide variety. Various classes and functions have been very helpful to us as we have learned to deal with his condition effectively. The kitchen staff and servers are always friendly and courteous plus the quality and variety of food is great. The management has always been respectful and responsive to any concerns that we have encountered.
