My brother was there for about 5 months before getting onto Veterans Center. He was also transferred there from another facility. He was in the memory ward. I found the staff to be friendly and good, although it was understaffed occasionally. It was depressing at first but during his stay they remodeled the building, removed the carpet, replaced it with ceramic tile, painted the walls, put flowers in pots in front and they were working on the parking lot. The memory ward was small and my brother felt comfortable there because he lost his eyesight and started being able to move around by himself and got to know some of the clients and staff.

Mostly a good experience. Sometimes you have to be patient w/the nurses,cna's, etc because they are human.I rate the OT worker a 10.

This facility made me feel completely comfortable placing my dad in long term care. We felt guilt for not being able to care for him at home. The staff here helped me and my family come to terms with the need and went above and beyond. The facility could use some updates but the staff there is amazing! Don’t always look at the surface it goes much deeper they gave the care I knew we could not give him at home!

Our experience here was outstanding - from the delicious food, to the attentive care givers and even the rehab for my aunt was nothing but great. Recommend to anyone.

My mother has dementia and our family could no longer give her the care or time that she needs. She has been at Gracewood for several months now in a memory care unit and she actually seems to be doing better. Every time we visit the facility is clean and the staff is very friendly. Mom really enjoys the food also as she has gained weight which we couldn't get her to do at home. My family highly recommends.
