I can't say enough nice things about Clay Gardens! My grandmother is a resident at Clay Gardens and we are so grateful for them. All of the staff are so kind and caring and it gives us the peace of mind that she is receiving excellent care. Communication with staff is phenomenal so if I ever have a question, I can call day or night and someone is always there to answer the phone and is happy to help. The facility is beautiful and well-maintained including a spacious and enclosed outdoor space. There are various communal spaces and activities and celebrations that they do with the residents, including Church (my grandmother's favorite!). It truly feels like being a part of a community. I would give Clay Gardens my highest recommendation to everyone. -Gaile and Erin Clark

So incredibly thankful for the care and compassion provided by the team of professionals at Clay Gardens Place. Mother feels very safe and respected, has made wonderful friends and is enjoying her time at her new home. Clay Gardens Place is a wonderful local resource for families as they navigate various changes with their aging loved ones.

My mom is a resident at Clay Gardens Place. She has dementia. Before moving her into Clay Gardens this past summer, she lived alone and was about three hours away from me. It was so stressful and I was always worrying about her, so I finally was able to talk her into moving. So happy to have her much closer and in a great facility like Clay Gardens. They take great care of my mother. Everyone is so kind, patient and loving to her. And most importantly, she actually loves it there and is very happy. They fill her days with numerous fun and mentally stimulating activities that she never had when she was at home. Plus, she loves getting her hair done every week at the facility's in house salon…AND she gets her nails done there too. She has made friends and is more social than she's been in years. They have good meals. Mom has even put on some weight since she moved there. The cost, especially compared to other facilities in the area, is reasonable. It's been so nice knowing that I no longer have to worry about my mom like I was and that she is getting the much needed care, social and mental stimulation that she needs.

We have been very pleased with the facility and the staff. Mom's needs are met with kindness and care. She has been able to decorate her room as she wants, is able to have her dog with her, and even thinks the food is good! The extra events, like Family Nights, are well planned with decorations, snacks and fun entertainment.

Navigating care for an aging parent is super hard. My mom requires care that my sisters and I cant provide in our homes, so 5 years ago we entered the senior care world. We were naive and clueless. Sadly, many assisted living/nursing home leaders put profit over people. Over time we are learning what questions to ask and how to navigate our way through Medicare, VA grants, care levels, etc. In the midst of the messy, we have found incredibly amazing allies in the team at Clay Gardens Place. Of the various places mom has lived in Louisville and here, the Clay Gardens team has been the most caring, compassionate and considerate group of administrators, aids, nurses, food service personnel, etc. for my mom. In the almost 2 years she has lived there, I felt like they really cared for her, but to be honest, Ive been hesitant to believe it because of experiencing insincerity at other places. But over the past few months weve had to navigate new challenges and I have been happily surprised by the personal attention they have given our family to make sure my mom is cared for respectfully and affordably. If she cant be on Ramona Lane (the place she lived for 52 years), Im glad she has this special place to call home."
