waited 1 hr for cough medicine. food is nasty rokm was dirty over populated . i was a sitter for a man because the stuff they lack. he had no bath in over a week. i wouldnt send a dead body there 1 nurse for many patients but all sitting doing paper work . i couldnt handle being a nurse . over worked they are

If you come at dinner time it is very frustrating to wait at the memory care unit door for someone to come to let me in. I understand that they are very busy at that time but there are other systems that are secure. Some places have a key fob for the family that lets them in to the memory care unit.

The warm and friendly atmosphere is great. There are plenty of activities to choose from and places to go if you want. My apartment feels safe and it’s comfortable. Our laundry rooms aren’t very clean, especially the floor.

Residents and staff are friendly here, and the grounds are beautiful. The food is plentiful, with lots of choices. The management at Brookdale Westlake Village reacts quickly to complaints and suggestions from residents and makes what changes it can.

I can’t say enough about Brookdale’s nursing staff, social worker , Jamie, director of nursing and dietary department in this skilled nursing facility. This facility provided more confidence and assurance to me and the patient I have been assisting since February 2025. There were NO major issues I had to deal with any type of dissatisfaction The communication and care was always available to get answers and support. My best wishes to all the staff and volunteer.. you are a superior model of what a skilled nursing should be about : comfort , professionalism and care That you deliver service for each patient and their caregivers , you are what every person need to look for in choosing such a place. i truly appreciated all of you. Very High recommendations for the rehabilitation center. Everyone is so professional and helpful. My 98 Year old Mother was admitted. They all were so nice to her and were able to complete her therapy and rehab. The staff in the rehabilitation center were very thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Nurses and Aides were fantastic also. Our Family and friends that visited her all expressed how special this place is.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the excellent care I’ve had at Brookdale Skills Services. It’s been wonderful and it’s been a big factor in my speedy recovery from knee replacement surgery I had nine days ago. The people have been terrific and I want to especially extend my thanks to Yvonne Vincent, the social worker has expedited my stay here. In addition, I’ve also enjoyed meeting all the patients, learned a lot from them and I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout-out to the outstanding meals and attentive care. My aunt Elaine feels very comfortable at Clarebridge. She feels safe in her apartment’. Everyone on the staff is very friendly. Housekeeping does a great job. Plenty of food and food options. Snacks throughout the day. Megan does a great job with the activities. She really enjoys the bus trips. The nurses are very caring and really listen. The aides are absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend Clarebridge.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone with loved ones that need skilled nursing. Like most places, they are drastically understaffed. Some of the aides and therapists do a great job but they are offset by the others that seemed bothered by the residents. My dad hit his call button to go to the bathroom and nobody was coming to help. I arrived to visit 37 minutes after he first hit his button and when I found out how long it had been I went down to the nurses station to find the nurses and aides talking and joking around to which I yelled for somebody to come down and do their job. This is very common. On the day my dad was to return home they refused to help him pack his belongings. Also, very few members of the staff wear masks which are required but I guess they don’t feel it necessary. Stay away from this place unless it is a last resort

Brookdale’s Clinical and Therapy Teams ARE AMAZING! They always go above and beyond for their patients and families. They are NOT a Nursing Home, but a rehab facility to get your loved ones back on their feet to GO HOME!

My father has lived in independent living at Brookdale - Westlake, Ohio for about 7 years. This facility is of the same high quality as it was when he arrived here 7 years ago. I'm pleased by the consistent high quality and genuine kindness of all the staff at Brookdale - Westlake. The food (especially the soups) is great. The residents are friendly. My dad's apartment is very spacious. The residents seem happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend this facility.

I was admitted to Brookdale in 11/18 when I required physical therapy for a broken leg. I was in the facility 2 months and the therapy was outstanding. I required therapy during the month of March 2021 and did not hesitate to return to Brookdale Westlake Village. The therapy staff worked with me to improve my mobility, using their knowledge and skills.The nursing staff was very caring and very supportive during my stay at Brookdale. All around a good place to heal.

I came to this community to visit and tour. Very clean and the staff were very nice. Mike and Eric from dining were very nice, professional and knowledgeable. They offered us lunch and the lunch was delicious. The residents all look happy. I would definitely recommend this place

My 87-year-old mother was in the skilled nursing facility after a horrible car accident. The nurses and aides were kind, professional and very attentive to her needs. My mother, a former RN herself, was impressed with the care she received and especially with the physical and occupational therapy she received. My siblings and I were impressed with the dedication of every employee we encountered. No request we made was ever denied and they made us feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone in need of skilled nursing care. Our experience over the two months mom was there was very positive.

My father is a Parkinson's patient that was put into this facility for skilled nursing and rehabilitation from a week long stay at the hospital. Brookdale Westlake is understaffed and offers mediocre to just above average care of its residence. If your loved one is lucid and can speak for himself or herself, and can tell you what goes on in the facility, then this is a wonderful place for them. If your loved one is like my father, who cannot vocalize his feelings, or needs, then this is DEFINITELY NOT THE PLACE!!!!! I came to visit my father two days after he arrived, and he was sitting in his wheelchair in wet clothes. The 'nurse' who was attending him was rude, and dismissive. Only when I asked that he be changed, did she show any concern at all. These facilities are being paid premium dollar to make sure that the residents are cared for in the rare absence of family. But my recent experience in the past week has been, that if you think the staff really cares at all about your family member....think again. The only hope that you have for good care is if your family member is either, 1)drugged to be compliant, 2). compliant and passive by nature .3).completely coherent of what's going on and can communicate this to you, 4). Your loved one has private care in his/her room 24/7. (which kind of defeats the purpose of the facility)? I have no confidence that my father is being cared for respectfully in this facility. Are his basic needs being cared for? Yes. But My observation is that the staff is lazy, unsympathetic, apathetic, and only there for the paycheck. My father was labelled, "combative"; so the staff's solution was to give him heavy drugs without permission.. In reality, he just needed to go to the toilet, and was trying to get up on his own to go. (They are supposed to assist him to the bathroom every two hours or so, which they claim to do, but which has never occurred). They prefer to leave him in a wet diaper because it's easier on the, 'staff'....They characterized this as, 'combative'. Just because they put him in a diaper, he is supposed to revert back to infantile behavior? His natural impulse is to get up and go to the bathroom on his own. His dementia causes him to not understand that he can't just 'walk to the bathroom' like he has always done. He is in the advanced stages of Parkinson's Disease and his motor skills are very weak. The best feedback we could get was that he needed to be moved. He is an excellent match for the Brookdale Lakeway Memory care Facility, but they turned him down. When asked why, they would not give an answer. These places are under regulated and need to be under the same scrutiny as day care centers are today. These facilities are expensive They are money makers to the max! And judging by this facility, the bottom line and profit is ALL they care about.
