My Daddy made the transition to Artis from another facility recently. We have been very happy with Artis. The frequency and variety of activities available; the housekeeping and cleanliness; quality of meals; and the involvement of activity leaders and management in activities. Most of the staff show excitement and cheerfulness and seem to truly enjoy their jobs. This is so important. The support group and educational opportunities made available to families shows that they care and understand how hard this disease can be. Thank you.

Artis has been a God send for our mom. We were fortunate to find Artis after trying to care for our mom by ourselves. When we decided we needed to find a facility for mom, Artis was our first choice, we had heard about through friends caring for their aging parents. Upon touring Artis, the weight was immediately lifted, we knew we made the best decision for our mom. The place and the staff are so bright and cheerful. I can't say enough nice things about the care provided by Artis. They work to keep the residents engaged and happy. Now, visiting mom is such a pleasurable experience, she is getting the care she deserves. We can be there as her family and know everything is being taken care of for her. We can be her daughters, and visit knowing she is in good hands.

Moving my wife Jacquie, into the memory care home was one of the most difficult decisions for me because I, in a sense was passing judgment on how I thought she felt and what she was doing. Yet I hoped she would be better cared for than what I could provide on a 24/7 day basis. It still hurts but I’m convinced she has more care and stimulation with the programs and activities that is happening at Artis. The staff does the best job possible and the rest we have to put in the hands of the Lord.

My mother made an easy transition to ARTIS from another facility. She has been so well taken care of and is busy with activities most of the day. The activities coordinator is wonderful and comes up with so many creative ways to engage residents. The staff are well trained and make a point of knowing everyone’s name. They really get to know your loved one. They are treated with respect. It’s been really good for my mom, both body and spirit.

Artis Senior Living in Bridgetown specializes in memory care. It is evident in the care given to the residents that providing quality care is the expectation. Our mother was a resident of Artis in Bridgetown for 53 days and we visited her daily. My brothers and I transferred our mother to Artis from another memory care residence in Oakley. After the move, we quickly realized how poorly managed the previous residence was and how inadequately trained and lacking in compassion many of the care givers and staff from the first residence were compared to staff at Artis. Here are many of the things we noticed while our mother was a resident of Artis in Bridgetown: *Attentive staff and care-partners. Staff at Artis is there to work! They are NOT spending time focused on their cell phones. In fact, you will never see care partners at Artis spending time on their cell phones. Walkie Talkies are used to communicate among staff members. * Well organized responsibilities and jobs and everyone WORKED TOGETHER to help out. The focus was ALWAYS on the residents and their needs. *Care partners and nurses responded promptly, courteously, and willingly whenever we requested help with our mother during our visits or called to check on her. I was NEVER made to feel like I was a bother or taking too much time. In fact, common phrases I heard at Artis were, “I will be back to check on you” and “If you need anything let me know.” *Documentation was completed and readily available regarding our mother’s food consumption, showers, medication, behavior, and mood changes. All records could be accessed quickly when requested. *An activity director is there DAILY. She escorted residents to the activity room throughout the day and after dinner to participate in PLANNED, INTERESTING, and FUN activities. Residents were always encouraged to participate! They did NOT spend their day in front of a television. *Staff spoke to residents respectfully. I NEVER heard anyone raise their voice in anger or speak rudely to residents. Staff NEVER walked past a resident without a SMILE and cheerful HELLO. *Mom’s room was always CLEAN and smelled so fresh. Trash was emptied daily. Laundry did not pile up. Clothes were cleaned, folded and placed neatly in drawers. Bedsheets were changed once a week or as needed. *My brothers and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Artis of Bridgetown if you are searching for a residence specializing in memory care. We are GRATEFUL to the ENTIRE STAFF at Artis for treating our mother respectfully and compassionately and for making her final days, days of dignity and peace. We will never forget you.

We are so very grateful for ARTIS and the ARTIS team. They could not have done anything more or better during the transition of my mom to the her new home. It is a very difficult thing for any family to do and each team member, to a person, was able to relate and somehow ease our pain during the process. The culture of the team reflects the leadership in that they all just want to do everything they possibly can to help the residents live their best life. The ARTIS Way isnt just a marketing ploy. The team is attentive, responsive, and all seem to love what they do. This is paramount to me, especially during the pandemic, as I have not been able to spend much in-person time with my mom. She appears to be happy and healthy and seems to be thriving in the environment. She has friends and value in her life. The team understand that each resident and each family is unique with unique circumstances. The communication (text, email, social media posts) is frequent and transparent to the point where I feel fully informed and rarely have to reach out for specifics. It is a joy to see and hear of the activities that my mom and her friends participate in. I told a good friend that what I should do when it came time to move my mom from her home of almost 60 years was a years long prayer and I feel that God answered my prayer.

My lifelong friend lived at Artis- I reside 2,000 miles away- this amazing team made it possible for me to call- and talk! Even FaceTimed- they made sure she got the cards and letters I sent and when I could visit- they let me go bowling with the residents! Artis not only took care of my friend- they also took care of me! It is because of her excellent care from the Artis family that I know how much she was loved.

Our mom was a resident of Artis for less than 5 months but our experience was long lasting. We could not have been more impressed, confident or comfortable with her care. She loved her private room, activities and most importantly, the staff. Thank you for respecting, comforting and loving her in her final days ... I would not hesitate to recommend Artis to other families coping with such a tough decision.

We looked at many memory care places and found Artis! They are like angels! The place is clean and doesnt smell , the food delicious, the care given is above and beyond and the time in activities makes them happy, my mom loves being there! We can sleep at night knowing our mom is being taken care of! They are family!They take the seniors on outings which is great! They have cook outs, games outside, allow individuals to help plant flowers and do outside activities . They celebrate opening day, every holiday with family and other fun days Valentines Day, St. Patricks day to mention a fewing alongs are the best! The people remember the words to the old songs they play its remarkable to watch them sing!Highly recommend the Artis of Bridgetown!

In fact, because we asked, they allowed her to move in before her scheduled entry date when she had a hospital stay. It was not safe for her to return home from the hospital. When we toured Artis, we could tell it was a different type of place. I have seen other nursing homes and assisted living centers many times. Artis is not a nursing home or standard assisted living center. They only do memory and dementia care.Artis is not just a facility. It is a system. It is more of a family type setting. In each wing, each resident has their own room and bathroom. There are 16 rooms in each wing. At mealtime, all residents eat together in a dining room. There is a living room in each wing. All residents are encouraged to take part in activities, of which there are a few each day. Staff and residents get to know each other. Quarterly care conferences keep families and staff on the same page.While not a skilled care facility, nurses insure that all residents get their prescribed medications and oversee medical needs, communicating with physicians when necessary. Aides tend to other physical needs. The chef and other staff insure that nutritional needs are metWhen mom could no longer live on her own, we are glad we chose Artis Senior Living of Bridgetown.

You will not find a more caring, compassionate and competent assisted living home than Artis. From top to bottom the staff is outstanding. They treat their residents like they are family members. The atmosphere and the caring staff make having our family member there worry free. Saying they care is not even enough. They treat the residents like they are family. They are not only friends to the residents, but to the residents family. The activities are plentiful. The neighborhoods, community center and outside are clean and well cared for.
