My mother has been in the memory care unit at Bristal (Lake Grove) for the last six months. She is thriving, and doing so much better than at home. Her mood has improved and her memory sharpened in such a supported environment. The staff are caring and accessible.

My family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful staff at the Bristal at Lake Grove for the care provided to my Mom over the past 4 years! Mom lived her best life there in their Reflections unit. The staff became family to both of us & I highly recommend this facility!

Details? Although this is not what I expected or hoped that my "Old Age" would be; I find that the Bristal is a comfortable place to live. The facility is much like an upscale hotel, but the true vale of the Bristal is the staff; these individuals are "as good as it get's"! Bob

When my MIL was unable to care for herself I called someone I knew that had several contacts within Assisted Living. I asked him if his loved one had to choose a place where would he choose and he told me the Bristol. We toured2 other assisted living facilities, and then The Bristol at Lake Grove and she instantly loved it. She said it reminded her of a 5 start hotel. As she settled in she enjoyed her meal companions in the dining hall , the movies and playing Bingo. She had her hair done in the salon and knew an aid was just a button away. Sadly just 2 1/2 months after she arrived COVID hit. Though we were unable to visit for several months we spoke often and she always told me how wonderful the staff was and how eager to make her life more comfortable. She told me ,while there is no place like home, this is the next best thing, a wonderful place with great people. Sadly mom passed away this past December. The Bristol did everything they could to allow family visits and showed her the upmost compassion. I will always be grateful for the care they gave not only my MIL, but our family.

My parents have just moved here after living 10 months at another assisted living facility in another state, they decided to move closer to family. We were concerned that this would be a difficult change for them, as of now they are truly enjoying all they are experiencing here. The staff is very professional and attentive. They have been sure to communicate with my parents as well as myself. They are enjoying that their are many activities to choose from, and that they are able to socialize all times of the day. My father (hard person to please) is delighted with how organized things are here, he said several times that the meals are very good and they are served quickly and staff is friendly.I hope that they continue to have the care that they have received since day 1. Most importantly my siblings and have experienced MANY care-giving situations for my parents over the past year and at this time we can say, we feel they are in good hands.

I have my relative who lives at The Bristal in Lake Grove, This was a very hard decision to place a family member into someone else care. The staff here is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! From the Sales girl who everything she told us was the truth and actually He is happier with his new extended family and thats what they have become to me too.My family member is very sick with Parkinsons Disease and recently had a period of time where he was experience hallucinations and got very mad at us family, but still stayed close to the Bristols family and thank God they were able to help us out of a very difficult situation that the hallucinations have caused if it wasnt for the Bristol my family member wouldve been in jeopardy financially. (Long personal story).Norelle and Cindy were unbelievable, they helped me and my family member and stuck by both of us and took care of my family member, helped rectify the situation that was caused by an unfortunate hallucination and we were able to correct the whole issue but with their guidance and with their care and with their love this issue would not have been resolved as easily or maybe not at all. I have to say the staff is incredible , Maria his aid sat with him and helped him do some personal errands on the phone that help rectify the situation .She was patient and kind and actually called me to check in to tell me how it was going . The front desk Kyle and Deb go above and beyond for me . Its just amazing the level of caring and understanding to have to let your family member be with other people and not be with them 24 hours because you have to work full-time and they need more care than you were able to give because you dont have the school education to help them.this place is amazing , gives you peace of mind and its a beautiful Country Club setting.Even thru the pandemic they kept my family member and the rest of the residence safe. During the earlier stage of the pandemic it was crazy nursing homes and other facilities were losing patients by large numbers. The Bristol at the very beginning had zero covid 19 cases. They were able to keep the facility clean and theyve use proper CDC code lines to keep their residence safer than any other residence facility. Myself as a member of a family member of a resident I was so scared and they comforted me and made me understand that they actually had him and that they were going to let nothing happened to him and they kept their promise.I know there are a lot of places that you can place your family member, but this is the best place that I couldve ever placed my family member!!!!! I truly truly am so appreciative of all of the staff members at The Bristal Of Lake Grove it is not only beautiful, kept clean , but it becomes a loving family for him.It really is truly amazing everything that they sold me and told me has been above and beyond what I couldve ever expected or imagined they actually truly are the best people and they are doing Gods work.Thank you so much to the whole staff at the Bristol from My Family and Me !!!!!!!!!! I cannot thank the Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Grove enough for not only making the transition for my aunt, who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers, easy and stress-free, but for taking care of her as if she was their own family member. AND....this facility is gorgeous and the activities are abundant. I felt completely comfortable and had no concerns. The staff were always in communication. Knowing that she was cared for while I lived so far away (Florida) was a relief. AND, the interaction with staff and other residents was great for her mental state despite the awful disease that was robbing her. If you are concerned about transitioning a loved one from their home to an assisted living, I would call and visit The Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Grove. You will not be disappointed!!

We moved Mom to the Memory Unit at The Bristal Lake Grove from another facility in June 2021. This move resulted in a 180 degree change for the better. At the Bristal, Mom is well cared for and safe. In the beginning, we had daily phone calls about her adjustment to her new home. Were always kept up to date with regular communications. My calls or emails are returned quickly by the kind and caring staff. We only wish that we had moved Mom sooner!

The Bristal at Lake Grove is amazing. Choosing an assisted living facility can be overwhelming and a stressful process. My father recently moved from The Atria to the Bristal and the difference is striking, with the Bristal at Lake Grove being far superior. Moving in the middle of COVID had its challenges but the staff at The Bristal made it as smooth as possible. What stands out to me is the staff, everyone from the front desk staff, Community Relations, Health Center, up to the Executive Director,Karen, are knowledgeable, professional and kind. It is their kindness and commitment to their jobs and the residents that really is remarkable. 2020 has brought many worries but my Dad being at The Bristal is not one. I highly recommend, without reservation.

Ive worked at the Bristal at Lake Grove since we opened in 2015. While I wasnt sure how working in senior care would feel for me, it ended up being a job Ive come to truly love. Getting to spend time with and helping our residents every day has been an incredibly gratifying experience. Over the years, Ive gotten to know many of my dedicated and talented co-workers, who all share a passion for the services we provide for our residents, and have helped make it a pleasure for me to come into work each day. The Directors and Administrators put their all in for our residents and staff day in and day out, and are committed to making our community the best it can be. Im very proud have been a part of the team at Lake Grove from the beginning, look forward to continuing my career with The Bristal.

My mom moved into the Bristal when it first opened in the Spring of 2015. She was reluctant to move but after breaking her hip twice and living alone, not to mention being 93 years old, it was time to move to assisted living. It was quite an adjustment on her part. She does not easily adjust to change. The staff and administrators were so kind and worked hard to make her feel at home. Once she made the adjustment, she became involved, made friends and took advantage of all that was offered. Again, the staff was incredible. They made sure to get her involved in everything. They are so caring. This past October she was moved to the Reflections unit. This was very hard for both of us. The entire staff and administrators made this move happen as smoothly possible. Again, it was an adjustment, but my mom is very happy in her new environment and it is home to her. I feel very secure knowing she is being well taken care of and feeling very loved. I can not thank them enough!

As a family, it was a hard decision to know that we were at a point where mom needed more care than we, as a family could provide. As her main caregiver, and as I worked full time, it was becoming more difficult to keep the daily routine, going to work, coming home to prepare dinner and just trying to find time to sit and catch up with mom and my my own family. It was time.Fast forward to the Bristol. A beautiful and welcoming place which allows Mom the opportunity for adventure, fun and for new friends. The staff are welcoming, helpful and present! The problem now is having mom find time for us!! She is always busy! We are thankful and grateful that mom is in a beautiful and safe place. Somewhere where she is able to be independent, knowing that help is there at a moments notice. We all sleep well at night.

The Bristal at Lake Grove is an absolutely wonderful place!!In April 2019 our family had a devastating loss. Our mother passed away and our Dad, after 57 years of marriage, was living on his own. Upon deciding he did not want to live alone, we began researching assisted living facilities. From the moment we walked into the elegant lobby of The Bristal at Lake Grove, for our tour, we were greeted warmly and immediately felt welcome. Jennifer Rubino was so comforting and knowledgeable, we felt like we were meeting with an old friend. In Sept. 2019 our Dad moved into The Bristal at Lake Grove with great ease. The reception he received and continues to receive from both the residents and the staff, has been a true blessing! He has made many new friends. The compassion the staff members demonstrate and the way they interact with the residents is heartwarming. There are many activities available to the residents throughout the day and evening. Our Dad tries to participate in as many as he can; a few of his favorites are balloon volleyball, Wii bowling and Bingo. Our family enjoys the activities with the residents and staff as well. The pleasurable environment we have found at The Bristal has become a new home to our Dad and our family, and has put a smile back on his face. Thank you to everyone at The Bristal at Lake Grove!

My mother-in-law entered the Bristol in Lake Grove in the summer of 2019. She was rapidly declining in the other assisted living she had been. Within a very short period of time she began gaining weight. She was happy and open to engaging with the residents. She felt like she was home. As she suffers from dimentia, she is on the Reflections, Memory Care Unit. I cant say enough about the amazing staff. Every single person right down to the people that come and staff the salon on Thursdays are so special. The activites and events surrounding holidays are always perfect. The enviroment is so condusive to special visits even if its just to have the family sit around in the billiards room as we play and talk. Words cant express the gratitude and respect we have for our Bristol Family!

My mom entered the Bristol at the age of 96, after leaving her home of 65 years. Although there was an adjustment period of a couple weeks Mom quickly found friends and began to enjoy her time. She told me how wonderful all the staff was and that they went beyond their jobs to be kind. Last month she began calling the Bristol home and thanked me for finding it for her. I thank the Bristol for great care and allowing me to sleep without worry.time is

My father is 93, and has been at the Bristal at Lake Grove for over 7 months now. My family and I have have been very happy with our experience with this facility so far. It has all been very, very positive. As others have said, the place is very attractive, and you will notice this as soon as you walk in to the lobby. It is welcoming, well maintained, and tastefully decorated. The entire place is just nice; patterned carpeting, well placed ornaments, pleasing lighting, softly colored wallpaper, and comfortable furnishings. All of it well thought out and well kept. Outside, the grounds around the patio and pool areas are equally well maintained and attractively landscaped. Dad's studio apartment is bright and efficient, with its own bathroom and a kitchenette area providing a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and ample cabinet space. With that said about the physical appearance of the place, most impressive for me so far has been the staff. I don't even know how to start to thank these people enough. My father is 93 and needs a *lot* of help now, both physically and cognitively, and his aides have been attentive, patient, courteous, and capable. Sure, one does pay for all of this after all, but, considering some of the things these folks are asked to do, this can't possibly be an easy job, and yet they do it, and they do it well. If I have any concern regarding his aides it would be that many of them are somewhat young. Please don't misunderstand me. The worry here is NOT about the quality of care they give (I'm in awe of these people), but in realizing that younger people are still cutting careers and lives for themselves and tend to move upward and onward with more regularity (and ease) than those who are older. I would think that some of the personal moments shared by aides, and the people they provide care to, require the establishment of a certain level of trust and comfort between them. It would be tough to endure a trend where my father, and the rest of us, might need to say goodbye to people we have grown fond of, as well as trust, on a regular basis. However, at this time, I have not noticed an unusually high turnover rate in personnel here, so fingers crossed. While my father's aides are at the center of our little universe, I must add that the rest of the personnel is equally impressive in what they do - the recreation staff, the maintenance staff, the housekeeping staff, the dining area staff, the wellness center staff, the administrative staff, etc and onward. It seemed that all of them knew dad's name within a day of him being there. When you see them in the hall they will make eye contact with you, smile, and say 'hello'. My father was recently hospitalized and needed to spend a month in a rehab center after that. When we brought him back to the Bristal I couldn’t believe how warmly he was received by so many of them. It meant so much. I could go on, but hopefully you get the idea. There are activities provided every day; exercise classes, parlor games, Bingo, a movie in the cinema, etc. They sometimes bring in local musicians to perform, and some of them have been rather good. I have noticed that they regularly arrange for off campus excursions as well; a trip to a local casino, shopping trips, area restaurants, etc. Unfortunately, dad really can't keep up with too many of the activities these days and he seems content with chatting with the staff as well as the other residents. So, is my father happy? That is outside the scope of a Google review. Suffice to say that my dad is failing physically and mentally, but there is enough left for him to realize what is happening to him. What the Bristal has provided him with are moments of happiness, but no, he is probably not happy. However, unless the Bristal, or any other place, claims to have a cure for 93 years old, there's only so much they can do. The bottom line is that my family and I want him to be safe. We want him to be comfortable. We want him to be treated in a kind and dignified manner. So far, so good, and we are very grateful.

I am a clinical social worker and have been to this location several times over the past few years. Where shall I begin? The property and facility are immaculate...the design, the decor and the upkeep. The staff, from the reception staff, facilities team, marketing directors and everyone in between are genuinely kind and accommodating. They provide genuine support to the residents, and are not condescending and dismissive as I've seen in other facilities. The Bristal offers an experience to its residence, not simply a place to live. All of the residents' needs are met, from medical, social (hello they have a high tech Bingo room!) and legal. They have solid relationships with other providers to ensure their residents get the full range of care they need. I have forged a great relationship with the people at The Bristal and often tell them that I'd love to live there now..and I'm only in my 40's. That speaks to the quality of care and the overall experience at The Bristal- Lake Grove.

Approximately a year ago, my Uncle, a man who has been more of a Dad than any other, moved into The Bristal at Lake Grove. It was the hardest decision to convince him to make as his needs were becoming more dependent day by day. His health has declined and his sharp ability to express himself has slowly been deteriorating. Hence, entry into the Bristal. For him, it took around 60 days to finally call it home instead of “the home”. The words rolled off his tongue. He also started to involve himself more in the religious services, the movies, the gym and the table mates in the dining room. His needs required more assistance from the Wellness Department. With all of this, there is a staff that is there for him around the clock. If he requires help, day or night, it is there. The structure of daily needs is so well perfected that for a group of people that structure is so necessary, they have perfected it. In ending this, the staff knows him and he knows them. Even more though is that everyone knows me. Jenn Rubino, my superstar has comforted me since day one. Karen Caroppoli, quick, responsive, kind and thorough. Lavinia, I pray for her every day yet Cindy stepped in and made a terrible crisis a comforting situation together with Stephanie and Jenna. The front desk staff, Kyle, Justin and every other person, kind, helpful and prepared for all kinds. Laurel in housekeeping is sweet and fabulous. Anyone who is looking for 5 Star Living is guaranteed to have it here, with a whole lot of heart. No matter how long my uncle will be there I will always feel so happy that this is where we found comfort and happiness. Laurie Passalaqua

My mom has been at the Bristal for one year. This has been the best decision I have ever made. Prior to moving here, she lived alone and was being cared for by aids and myself. The aids cost a small fortune, were not dependable, and I often found myself micro managing them, providing transportation as well as food for them. Under their care, mom fell three times and the last time got seriously hurt. At that juncture , I made the decision to sell moms home, and look for an assisted living residence. I looked at many places but when I walked in the Bristal I knew this was the place that mom would love! From the second you walk in you are greeting by the nicest receptionists. The entryway is beautiful, and the entire place is immaculate and beautifully decorated .Needless to say my mom who is 86 is happy and thriving. There are tons of things to do all day, every day from bingo to movies , arts and crafts, a full service salon and weekly entertainment. The entire staff goes above and beyond to keep the residents happy and healthy. For the first time in a long time I am able to sleep knowing my mom is safe a well cared for. Hands down this is the BEST decision I have ever made. ........................................................................................................................................................................

Our family was exploring options for my parents to move into an assisted living facility, and after visiting more than a half dozen of them we whittled it down to a very short list, including this Bristal. Ultimately, my parents chose a different one for strictly geographic reasons (in a different state)...however I wanted to post this review as we were so impressed with the Bristal at Lake Grove. First, compliments to Jennifer Rubino on their staff for handling our inquiries and visits (at least four of them) so professionally and thoroughly. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and compassionate, and has a solid understanding of all of the aspects of assisted living and the many questions and issues involved. The facility itself is really impressive. The layout, accommodations, services and staff are all first class. They have thought of every detail when it comes to making it safe and enjoyable for seniors to live there. I highly recommend that you seriously consider this facility...and if you can, have Jennifer show you around.
