I love living here because everything I have been wanting since I lost my wife has ben at our community Solstice. I have been here 3 years. The managers helped me get a VA approval so I could afford my new home. The food is great & the people are great. Maintenance is top notch as is cleaning staff. The grounds are kept in perfect conditions this is all due to our director Margaret and her team as she makes sure that everything is done to perfection for us. I cannot say enough about my home and friends at Solstice

We recently toured Solstice Senior Living facility in East Amherst. Johnna made us feel so welcome and was so thorough in showing us around. She is a friendly and “real” person who was truthful and honest in answering any questions we had. Things that we noticed were the casual and relaxed atmosphere, the cleanliness, the kindness of the residents in making us feel wanted, the beautiful setting with the nice looking exterior, the greenery in the back which is for everyone’s enjoyment, and an overall feeling of home. Johnna took her time with us and did not make us feel rushed at all. We were greeted with a welcome sign and left with delicious pastries. Solstice is high on our list for a place to go when the time comes for that. Johnna is responsible for this feeling of comfort we have that there is a great place out there for us when we need it.

While the space and amenities are fantastic, the front desk staff is terrible and rude. They take calls on speaker phone while in front of residents and their family, they speak unkindly to residents family and are overall not friendly. The women who runs the place treats the residents like they are children.

This is the Best Kept Secret in East Amherst for Seniors. Property is Beautiful but the People who Work and Live there are so Happy and Welcoming! When you are there, you feel so At Home in Lovely Surroundings. The Residents really enjoy the First Class Dining and the Culinary Staff make everything Delicious!!! Always something fun and interesting to do as The Most Amazing Activity Director keeps the Residents totally entertained. The Management Staff makes sure you want to call this place HOME!!!

I had the pleasure of performing at this senior living facility, and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. The staff was warm, organized, and genuinely attentive to the residents, which created a welcoming and positive atmosphere. The residents were engaged, joyful, and clearly well cared for, making the performance especially rewarding. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to support both social activities and daily living. It’s clear that there is a strong sense of community here, and that residents are treated with respect, dignity, and kindness.

When it was time to find a place for our aunt to reside, someone suggested we talk to Solstice- East Amherst. What a wonderful recommendation that turned out to be! The first impression of the campus was that of a clean, well groomed and very uplifting environment. Anytime a family member is met with the need to transition to an elevated level of care, they are often apprehensive. Once my aunt had met with Margaret and her staff, she was excited and ultimately ready to relocate to Solstice. She's taken care of over there, safe, and continuously entertained with her new friends. Meet with Margaret should you need to consider a new home for your loved one! We are sure glad we did, then the choice was clear! Well done Solstice team!

Moved my grandmother there about 1 week ago. But have been watching the place for over 6 months. Very active senior living. Always have something going on. From bingo to walking clubs and live bands. 3 meals a day, house keeping once a week, nurses on staff if you need them (just at a cost but reasonable) and free WiFi in each room. Glad I pick the place for her and she agrees. See how it goes in a few months.

Aunt lives there. Incredible facility and the people always go above and beyond to help the residents. She is very happy, met many friends and does lots of activities. The place is lit well where it needs to be and not so much where it doesn't. Thought was put into this. Most of all, the chef and kitchen crew puts out exceedingly good food and service with every. single. meal. And the desserts? Oh my.

I have been living at Solstice Senior Living for about a year. I am quite delighted with the attention we get from every staff member but I especially want to comment about a recent trip that was offered, which was strictly voluntary, to the Buffalo-River, Lake & Canal Cruise. Now, I cannot walk without a walker, I have difficulty walking on sidewalks, walking in the supermarket and anywhere. I have fallen numerous times and only because my daughter insisted did I go. Solstice Snr. Living has it's own van with a lift, and a staff member carefully and cautiously drove it all the way to the Marina. Another staff carefully monitored our safety and comfort. When it was time to get off, they were very careful for our safety and took care to walk us one by one to the boat. It took two ramps to board and they were there behind me and holding my arm. They were attentive during the entire trip. We were given water and chips on our return trip and if that wasn't enough, lunch was waiting for us when we got back. The two staff members, Julia and Lisa are definitely professionals.

My sister Gail had a stroke approximately 2 years ago. We were looking for a community that could accommodate her needs with aphasia. We were very lucky to find Solstice at East Amherst close to our home in Lockport. She has been here over a year now. I have absolutely zero complaints. Excellent staff, food, management . I would rank it a 5 star. Doesn't get any better than this!

A great place for anyone liking for assisted living. The apartments are large and have plenty of storage. The dining area is more like a hotel restaurant. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that the toilets are really too low. My home toilet is higher than those in these rooms. Seniors need the higher toilet for accessibility. Otherwise this is a great place and i recommend it.

Recently my father got ill and needed constant support. The workers at Solstice were so accommodating to our needs and assisted us with everything to make this transition better. I can't thank them enough for all they are doing and did.

People need to know that the food at Solstice is horrible in taste, presentation and nutrition. Residents cannot make their own food so they rely on what is served to them. Instead of giving my parents something to look forward to at meal time it was consistently a very negative experience. We had to bring food in regularly to supplement the meals served as the calorie intake was not sufficient and we were concerned for our parent’s health. Eating became a chore and their health suffered because of it. On several occasions my parents were given a boiled or microwaved hotdog, no bun and nothing else. Other times they were served a peanut butter sandwich with no accompaniments. They were told the kitchen ran out of food. There was no choice and neither of them could eat peanut butter. Several times they had NO meal at all or the timing was delayed by several hours. They were often given meals to replace what they had ordered. All of this created a lot of unpleasantness and disappointment. Imagine paying your monthly rent for this kind of service. All of this was brought to the attention of management, namely Margaret, who dismissed us every time. We were told that things would get better. They never did in any way. How sad to take away one of the few pleasures the elderly have, that of eating pleasing and nutritious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Please consider this when choosing a home for yourself or loved ones. Things may appear nice on the outside of this facility but the reality is that you will have to eat horrendous food everyday and even be left to skip meals that are paid for. Please weigh the consequences of having staff that have absolutely no regard for the food served to their residents.

I would highly recommend Solstice for senior assisted living. First, and foremost, the staff is amazing. From the dining staff to the executive director, [Name Removed], care and professionalism is abundant. It can sometimes be a difficult move for a loved one to leave their home when assisted living is necessary. [Name Removed] quickly eased our concerns, answering all of our questions, she even joined us for lunch, making us feel right at home. They are always welcoming and available. The facility itself is clean and bright. It is not as large as some other senior communities, which can feel overwhelming. At Solstice it’s easy to feel a part of the community. Solstice Amherst definitely deserves a 5+ star rating!

What a beautiful place to live. Every apartment has a patio or balcony opening out onto lawns or the pond and fields out back. Inside, the wide open ground-floor dining space is like a ski lodge, with big windows and fireplace. You can look down from reading nooks and the billiard room. The place is busy with well-planned activities, but with no pressure to join. Residents are friendly but not crowded together. The staff is wonderful here -- the director Margaret, the gals at the desk, Harold who is expert at everything -- and under the extraordinary conditions of 2020, they really shone, and kept Solstice a safe haven and a great place to live.

Both my parents moved into solstice last September... My parents love this place and Margaret the director is a wonderful wonderful lady she has a great staff that works there always asking my parents how was their meal and they love the food there it is such a great community and I'm glad we pick solstice as a place to live for them...

When we decided my brother should move to Amherst from another state, he and various family members looked at a number of senior living facilities. All of us agreed that Solstice at East Amherst was the best option. The building and grounds are nicely appointed, well maintained and provide a pleasant environment. We have found the staff - from Director to Housekeeping and everyone in between - to be kind, courteous, and committed. It is evident that the well-being of the residents is their top priority. My brother is comfortable living at Solstice and we are confident that we made the right choice.

Great place for seniors. The staff is amazing. Margaret Kleinmann the super amazing Coordinator is simply the best. She demands that her staff give the residents the utmost respect and attention that they deserve. Thank you to Margaret and her staff. The facilities are clean, very well appointed. I took a tour of the facility and everything was clean and beautiful. The residents that I met were all happy, joking and friendly. The staff was phenomenal! Highly attentive and very knowledgeable and answered all my questions! Stephanie was a fabulous guide! I was able to see everything I asked about and she was extremely easy to talk to. The 2 apartments I looked at were extremely well kept and clean. The whole facility is lovely!
