We have had a loved one living in AL memory care for two years. The staff and care have been excellent. We highly recommend Abernethy based on our experience.

My mom lived in the Village Independent Living at Abernethy Laurels for 5 years, and our experience was outstanding from start to finish. As her needs increased, we began using their in-home care services, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the entire team was. Alex, the Director of Home Care, along with Carolina, Latoya, Stephanie, Lynette, and the rest of the homecare staff, were exceptional. They were reliable, compassionate, and consistently responsive”especially during urgent situations when quick action was so important. I will eternally be grateful for the care they provided to my mom. The maintenance staff was also fantastic. Anytime there was an issue with my mom’s apartment, they responded promptly and took care of things quickly. The clinic staff, especially Jody and Donita, were another huge help. They always treated my mom with patience and kindness, which was a true testament to how they care for their residents. When the time came for me to move my mom to an assisted living community in Tennessee so she could be closer to me, the discharge process was handled beautifully. Lisa, Shaylyn, and the entire transition team made a difficult change feel smooth and manageable. Their organization and empathy to my situation made all the difference. Abernethy Laurels truly cared about my mom and supported us every step of the way. I’m grateful for the dedication of everyone we encountered and would highly recommend this community to any family looking for compassionate, dependable care.

Very positive experience. The food was great and the staff was fantastic. Very clean and all mom's needs were addressed positively. The therapy she received was spot on. Her discharge is not till next week but they are working hard with Medicare to ensure that she has the equipment needed to transition to home care. Highly recommended.

Both of my parents spent their last years at Abernathy Laurels. My Dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and when my Mom was no longer able to care for him she was forced to find full skill nursing for him. The facility was clean and accommodating .The level of care he received was always excellent. I have to say I was very impressed. When the time came for my Mom to leave her home and go to skilled nursing she wanted to go to Abernathy Laurels because she knew she would receive quality care. My Mom passed away four weeks ago and I was humbled at the amount of nurses, CNA’s and other staff members that came to say good-bye to her. At Abernathy Laurels your loved ones become family. I cannot emphasize the level of care and compassion both of my parents received during their time at Abernathy Laurels.

My husband & I were at Abernethy Laurels on 3 different occasions for rehabilitation after surgery. I wouldn’t want to go any place else for rehab services. Physical & occupational therapy were excellent, working with us to get us ready to transition to home care. Nursing care was excellent as well. They were quick to answer the call light & get what was needed. There was not a single person who wasn’t great at their job. The staff is always friendly. I’d like to name names but I would surely leave someone out. I’ll just thank Lisa Union for giving us a bed so we could have such a good experience. Facility was impeccably clean. Pet friendly.

My father went to Abernethy Laurels rehab after breaking his hip in late December. He then transitioned to skilled nursing and recently moved to the assisted living section. We could not imagine a better place for dad! The facility is top notchvery clean, caring and knowledgeable staff, residents get to choose their meals, many options of places to be in the facility (library, game room, sun rooms, pool table, gym, coffee shop, bistro, puzzle room, etc) and many activities. The staff is caring and tries to get everyone involved! The physical therapists are teaching my dad to play golf on the Wii (he’s almost 90) The staff have done an excellent job helping my dad transition to his new life. It’s a relief to know he’s in good hands!

Yes it’s about the money I really hate to see the residence being taken advantage of.They have changed their membership of their gym.Now you’ll pay 40.00 a month whether you go or not. I’ve never seen anyone operate like this. I’ve seen seen their hot tub down for 3 months. I’ve seen their pool down as we speak. ( no heater ) I’ve seen their tread mills down. You think this is going to change anything. No it’s been happening for years. I’d be ashamed to say I cleaned the bathroom there small bugs everywhere. I inquired about them once they got rid of them but there back as we speak. I hope you have a nice time if you have anything to work with. You may want to really want to try somewhere else. O don’t try and find out when something will be fixed cause nobody knows.

I stayed at the Abernethy Laurels Rehab for 5 weeks. I loved my time there. The staff, Doctors, PAs, PT & OT therapists & custodial persons were fantastic in helping me to get through some tough times. I had an ORIF repair of the patella, staph infection of the bone, a wound that was not healing, & high blood pressure problem when I arrived. They felt like family to me and really cared about my well being. The food was good and I had choices. The head of the cafeteria came by often to see how I liked the food and would make sure I got a wanted item. I even got well enough to play games for activity and to go to church provided at the facility. I worked at staying positive and pleasant and so did all staff at Abernethy Laurels that helped me. It was a pleasant experience. I am 78 yrs old and if I need to back to a facility, I would choose Abernethy. Jo Ann Russ

What a blessing Abenethy Laurels was for me and my family! My mom fell and had to have 4 surgeries. During this time she had to have very sterile wound care, watching her blood pressure and antibiotics given every 8 hours. While she was otherwise very healthy, we needed a place to could take care of her. I slept well at night knowing that he every need was met- the nurses, physical and occupational therapists- everyone was incredible. My mom has said several times how glad she was that she was there and if we ever needed her to go back - she would- I think that explains my 5 star rating! Thank you!

Abernethy Laurels is top notch. Our mother was in several places before we find Abernethy Laurels. (thank heaven). Then she was a resident on Faith Court for 4 years and passed away recently. She loved the food, but not her medicine (haha). The staff of doctors, nurses, aids and med techs always went above and beyond there duties to care for her. The church services and activities personnel provided video chats which added meaningful times to her life and ours. There were several times in which she had to use PT and transportation. The teams were awesome with scheduling and with helping to care for her. She loved to get her hair done by the salon whom also made her feel beautiful. They would always a smile on their face and love in the hearts. Even on really hard days, they made her feel secure and loved. It takes special "Angels" to work in memory care. They treated her with respect as if she was their own mother or grandmother. She will be truly missed in our hearts. Faith Court was her other family. We are truly grateful for your dedication to our Mother.

One of the nicest facilities. I am grateful for all of the staff and amenities!

I'm not typically one to leave a review, however, I feel that it is the least that I could do for this amazing establishment. I also would like to clear up any confusion that one might be having from some of the negative comments that I am seeing due to the fact that they simply do not correlate with the high-quality care that is given here to each individual. I had the best experience at Abernethy Laurels and felt as if my family members and I were right at home. It had outstanding service, individuals, amenities, and compassion for anyone who walked through the door. I feel sorry for the individuals who feel the need to spend their time bashing a business that spends endless hours ensuring others are well taken care of and respected to the highest standards. However, as many people know, you don't often hear reviews until one individual has what THEY believe to be a poor experience and then recruits others to participate as well for pity. Great job Abernathy Laurels!!!!!!!!! I will forever choose you and your people 🙂

I went there a couple of years ago when I was placing my mother in a memory care facility. I arrived for my appointment early, waited until 2 minutes prior to approach the receptionist. I told her I had an appointment. She put up her and said she would be right with me. I stood there a good 6 minutes while she made phone calls and spoke with coworkers as they went about their business. I finally asked her if someone could help me and told her I had an appointment again. She put up one finger and answered the phone. I quickly realized it was a personal call. I stood around as people came and went. Finally I left without saying anything further. If they did that to me, what would they do to my mom, who was confused and had trouble communicating?

Mom was here for 5 weeks, 1st in rehab, then in long term care after a severe stroke that left her whole right side paralyzed. Unfortunately she didn't make it. The staff here was very compassionate, helping me along with her. Sure, they are shortstaffed just as all places are these days . But this didn't stop them from doing their very best with loving care. I would reccomend Abernethy Laurels to anyone.

Our nearly 80 year old very active Mother was in an accident and wasn't able to walk. The Abernethy team was wonderful. After three weeks they were able to help her regain her ability to walk and she is on her way to independence. Thank you so much to everyone. Each person played such an important role in her recovery. Many Blessings to you! Jodi

While no place is perfect this place is pretty good. Nice staff, clean and healthy surroundings. You'll realize how much better if your loved one suffers places like Springs of Catawba, Brian Center or Serenity - all horrible places in this area. Abernathy Laurels is a good, clean place. Staff can be a bit numb to the Alzheimer's patients, maybe because they think those are lost causes. I think working in a place like this with this type of patient can maybe make you that way.

Wonderful place for rehabilitation in the transitional part my mother was there for about 12 days. It's beautiful on the inside, quiet with private rooms and bathrooms. You order your food like room service and have a lot of selections. Therapy had my mom to going in no time it seemed like, staff is very responsive and nice.
