I was very impressed with the facility, staff, and overall attention to detail. I especially liked the smaller size. I was greeted in a timely manner and my tour was quick, efficient and thorough

Absolutely the best place for my Mom. They treat her with so much care and respect. I have been in a lot of facilities and they just provide the best care.

The physical aspects of the facility are, without a doubt, excellent with the one exception that the trees surrounding the facility made it a bit dark inside. Only the room where the exercise class was held was bright. As our LTC Insurance has a lifetime maximum, the higher the cost, the shorter the coverage. My wife is presently a candidate for assisted living - as opposed to memory care - so the duration of her needs are not well defined. The monthly cost, while consistent with the quality of the facility, is more than we choose to pay for an indeterminate duration.

I love the family atmosphere and the comfortable homey environment. Of course the Receptionist Gina is my all time favorite- very personable and easy to get along with and very accommodating. They all care very much about my dad.

Arbor Terrace Asheville is a warm and welcoming community. Being out of state and unfamiliar with the area, I was nervous about moving my aunt, however from the first interaction with the team, I was immediately put at ease. The staff is kind, caring, and attentive--they truly put the residents first. The environment is elegant, clean and safe. From day one, the staff ensures the resident is comfortable and adjusting to the new surroundings, the direct communication with me made me feel that I was an important part of the team. My aunt received the best care and everyone treated us like family. I highly recommend Arbor Terrace Asheville!

Moved my Mom here about 5 months ago. It's easily the best Assisted Living place that I toured in all of Asheville. The staff there have been there for like 10+ years each and everyone there cares a lot.

Arbor Terrace combines the homey feeling of a smaller care facility with the space and amenities of a larger one. Above all, the care my mom receives there is as good as we could have ever hoped for.

A neighbor (LM) was hosted by your staff member after lunch on the 28th of July to review options for assisted living. The host said all the right things at the right time to facilitate a welcoming sensation within the heart of the prospect. This environment is just what we have been seeking for months, leading with the heart is the action that manifested a sense of belonging. Thank You

Our mother has loved living at Arbor Terrace! The decor is very upscale. The garden is lovely and has comfortable seating. "Everybody knows me here!" she says. The friendly staff check up on her often to see if she needs anything special, or just to chat for a few minutes. Thank you, friends, for taking such good care of Ann!!!

My husband and I were hoping to retire in Asheville and were looking for suitable assisted living for my dad. We had just begun our journey and had no luck with our first day of tours. Arbor Terrace was our first tour on our second day and there are really no words to describe how well we were assisted by the long-time director of Arbor Terrace, Susan Fairbairn. She sat down with us and made sure my dad was comfortable, and respectfully and gently lead us through a conversation to assure she understood Dads disability fully. She listed so carefully and responded so thoughtfully and ultimately helped educate us on a subject we felt we understood pretty well- but we didn’t! It turns out Arbor Terrace was not going to be able to meet my dad’s needs due to the unpredictable progression of his condition. She listed a few places we may want to think about as alternatives and zeroed in on one place in particular she felt really suited us. We ended up being able to tour that facility and it was indeed absolutely perfect for dad. What this showed me about Arbor Terrace is that they are far more interested in what is best for you and your loved one than they are the business bottom line. The staff and leadership at Arbor Terrace are absolutely unmatched. We all three felt compelled to give Susan big hugs as we left for saving us what could have been months of searching, or worse, having to move dad from Arbor Terrace (or another facility) soon after moving him in and him becoming acclimated and comfortable. We will always feel grateful that Susan came into our lives that day!

Arbor Terrace has been home for my mother for the past year. No one wants to give up their family home, and my mother had to move in after losing her husband of 53 years. It was a really hard beginning. Arbor Terrace staff were great from the start. They allowed compassionate visits during restricted visitation limits because of Covid, as my sister and I got my mother settled. They quickly adopted Mom. Susan, the Director, sat with Mom and soothed her as she grieved. Several staff kept a special eye on her, not only helping in day-to-day care, but identifying when Mom needed medical care and was unable to verbalize that herself. Staff joked with Mom and made her feel at home. They took time to talk with her; more than once, I arrived to find them chatting, looking at pictures with her, checking in on her. The place itself is clean, and has a homey feel, along with lovely gardens. There were a range of top-notch activities. Even during Covid, they worked to find ways to engage residents and help them connect. They encouraged Mom to participate, and some activities even seemed designed for her — her birthday is close to Elvis's and he is her favorite musician. She was delighted when they had an Elvis birthday party this year. My sister and I did look at assisted living facilities before Mom needed to move in. (I highly recommend doing this if possible.) Arbor Terrace stood out when we looked, and they lived up to the promise.

My mother has been a resident of Arbor Terrace of Asheville in Assisted Living for almost 2 years, and our family could not be happier. She frequently tells us how comfortable she is, how good the food is, and how well she is treated. The staff is attentive, respectful, friendly, and responsive. Whether its a new hairstyle to spice up her Christmas celebration or a knock on the door to say hello during a quiet afternoon, the staff is supportive of my mother while honoring her independence. The facility is clean, bright, and attractive. A variety of social activities are available to her. The garden has been a wonderful place for Mom to spend a sunny afternoon and admire the flowers and birds as she has done all of her life. The staffs communication with families has been excellent. Even during the pandemic, the Executive Director has stayed in frequent contact to assure families of their loved ones safety. I have been able to visit my mother regularly under coronavirus restrictions. I cannot imagine a better place for Mom at this time of her life.

My mom lived in the memory care section of Arbor Terrace of Asheville for the last year of her life. She was 93 with Dementia. It was the wonderful staff in this unit that made her last year of life remarkable. They made sure that she was out of bed, bathed, and participating in all the activities that were offered. This was a far cry from her existence the year prior to coming to Arbor Terrace of Asheville. I am forever grateful to the staff at Arbor Terrace, and only have praise for this community. The staff also made me feel welcome when I would visit, which made visiting enjoyable and something I looked forward to.

My wife, Kay, has been a resident in Evergreen Memory Care at Arbor Terrace for three years. She continues to receive extraordinary care that also extends to me in my daily visits. The staff is both professional and personal and very responsive to Kays needs, and to my occasional requests. Though she is no longer able to participate actively in many of the excellent range of activities, she profits from the overall stimulating environment; the climate of care goes beyond mere words. I continue to be impressed with the lovely, clean physical environment, including the beautiful artwork that is changed frequently. The pleasant dining environment and the quality of food tailored to individual nourishes body and spirit.Memory loss is devastating, both for the person and their family. The total care environment at Arbor Terrace makes our loss both bearable and meaningful, for which I am grateful.

My husbands mother lived at Arbor Terrace for 5 years. She started in the assisted living program and eventually ended up in the Evergreen area that dealt with dementia and memory care. I cannot say enough good things about this senior living home. The people are caring and involved with the residents all the way from the Susan, the Executive Director and Lisa, the Senior Care Counselor to all the resident care employees, the activities people, the dining staff and the maintenance team. They went out of their way to take care of mom and to make her feel like Arbor Terrace was her home. We visited often and never did we find anything but great care going on for her. The surroundings of the facility are always clean and beautiful. Its also small enough that the residents dont get lost which gives it an even more homey feeling. If you are looking for a wonderful place to trust with the care of someone you love I highly recommend you check out Arbor Terrace. You will not be disappointed.

My mother is a resident at the warm and caring Arbor Terrace of Asheville community. Im often reminded of how fortunate we are that she is there but it was reinforced 2 days ago when I joined her for lunch. The meals are excellent and on that day the freshly cooked asparagus was as good as any Ive prepared (and asparagus is so easy to overcook), the pesto chicken, fresh pasta salad and sauteed squash were excellent accompaniments. Kudos to Chef Chris!

My Father in law, W. Frank Plyler, formerly known as the mayor of Arbor Terrace lived the last years of his life at Arbor Terrace and fell in love with his next door neighbor there, who loved him right back. His family and hers encouraged this and found joy in seeing both of them as happy as teenagers in first love. I cannot say enough good things about the Evergreen Unit and their staff who were like family to us. Frank loved his Arbor Terrace experience and once admitted, chose not to return to his own home, which was always available to him. He was completely satisfied with his new home at Arbor Terrace. He had a strawberry garden and bird feeders that he enjoyed caring for. Eventually he required hospice services and it was his choice to receive them at Arbor Terrace, where he died peacefully, cared for to the end by his family and the very attentive Arbor Terrace staff.
