My mother joined the Julian Woods Community one year ago. She's in her 90's, but is still vibrant, active and learning. I am her daughter, and live in the area. We sought a place where mom could be fully independent, engaged and be her best self. In Julian Woods, we found a community that is everything that the marketing materials promised, be we found so much more. The residents are respectful and caring of each other. It's a disparate group, to be sure. The staff and volunteers are a big part of the ethos of camaraderie here. I fully credit the residential managers, Glenna and Greg Foster for creating such a welcoming and healthy place for older adults to explore and enjoy their journeys.

Mom decided this is where she wanted to spend her later years. I'm so thankful for the caring staff that are always available if needed. She loves the food, activities, and friends that have been made already! Knowing she's happy and content means the world to us!

Julian Woods is indeed a special place. My husband and I did not expect to be living in an independent retirement home, however, after a brain injury he sustained it was necessary to move closer to our son and daughter-in-law in Asheville NC. My son saw Julian Woods being built and said this was the place The best way to describe Julian Woods Is the way my older son described it when he first came here. He said it was a cruise ship on land and it really is! All the facilities you get on a beautiful cruise ship is right here for us to enjoy every day! My husband gets the therapy he needs, wonderful meals by a great Chef and staff, and so many activities I cannot list them all. Most importantly, after this traumatic event in our lives, we have met the most wonderful residents here that have truly become our lifelong friends. My husband and I both agree that this beautiful place is exactly what we needed. The apartment is a great size to accommodate our downsized belongings. The staff is always willing to help us. The food is good and healthy for us. I am a caregiver for my husband and the staff helps me make that safe and comfortable for him and for me. My experiece here in Julian Woods is generally very good. That said, I do feel at times somewhat like a prisoner as I have to rely on this facility for most of my transportation needs. For instance, currently I'm trying to get to an appointment in Turtle Creek (Southeastern Sports Medicine) with a surgeon on 8/25/25 at 9:35. They only see patients on Mondays and Fridays. Another thing that comes to my attention is the matter of recycling if it's to be done seriously. I've taken trips to the recycling dumpster outside and each time I see that it contains, almost exclusively, cardboard. That is only a fraction of the recylable items disposed of by residents. My suggestion is that Julian Woods gets a number of more gray trash bins and put them in the janitor closets. Then use the blue bins (the ones for recyclables) for what they're intended and marked them appropriately. They should be placed away from the two gray trash bins near another wall. After living all over this beautiful country and getting older, we decided to find an independent living facility that meant our needs. Julian Woods is our second RLS facility (1st one in Las Vegas, NV). However, after a wonderful couple of years there, we decided it was important to live near our son in Asheville, NC. Based on our exceptional RLC experience in LV, choosing Julian Woods as "our new home" was a no-brainer!! We are most pleased with our new Julian Woods experience and "family"!!!!!!

We are grateful to have found the perfect home for us to enjoy our elder years. Julian Woods has all the amenities we need and is ideally located. The three meals a day are tasty, healthy and provide the perfect opportunity to get to know the other residents. There are a variety of activities available for those who want them. The managers are amazing and the entire staff is friendly and ready to help us and each other with whatever may come up.

Such a lovely place! My mother and sister attended the Julian Woods Grand Opening a few weeks ago and they had a great experience. The brand new building speaks for itself, the food was amazing, the staff and residents were all so happy and it’s apparent that Julian Woods Retirement Community is top notch! The Senior Living Consultant, Martha Evans is amazing and has already invited my mother to come back for a private tour and lunch. We love following their events on Facebook as well, and the residents are always having so much fun!

This community as a whole exceeds any expectations you may hold! The entire area is clean and spotless as well as welcoming for anyone who may walk in the door! As you walk in, you are greeted with open arms and the feeling of being in paradise. The dining room is the best in my opinion. Spotless and clean, great food, and overall great employees. The dining supervisor, Sonya, greets everyone and makes sure you have everything you need! The overall experience is very much worth the 5 star.

My friends moved in here a couple of months ago and I’ve been to visit them at least twice a week as they settle in. This is a lovely welcoming facility with prime rib brunches on Sundays, lots of interesting activities and the most helpful staff ever. My friends are positive about leaving their longtime home and state- they are thriving with great food and socialization.

This community is both a country comfort (the beautiful trees, the birds singing ... and the casual comfortable environment ... and also, clearly a state of the art environment) The residents are refreshing engaged with life and activity .. many engaging activities. From chess to billiards ( from 8 ball to 9 ball .. singles or partners ... it's on ) a modest game room .. with perhaps shuffle board in the future. A most complimentary environment for comfortable.. engaging people .. a nice spot

I am a cna and just visited with my Client and by far it is the most beautiful community and everyone was so kind...the apartments are huge...the food looks amazing..loved the water pond in the lobby...and it is not more expensive that what he pays now but a world of difference between the 2 places ..

My wife and I have been really impressed by two retirement facilities of Resort Lifestyle Community which we have visited, one in the Raleigh-Durham area (Briar Pointe) and the other in the Asheville area (Julian Woods). Both are staffed by friendly and helpful people. The accommodations have been top notch and the food delicious. We highly recommend checking out Julian Woods in Asheville if you are looking for a place to enjoy your retirement years in an enjoyable, stress-free environment. What a beautiful place! You walk in to see a lovely fountain with koi fish, the artwork and decor throughout the building blends of color and unique design that is aesthetically appealing. The people who live and work there are all warm and welcoming, and the food is incredible! It is served from a scratch kitchen. You must try the crme brl©e!
