This is a follow up to the review from Jacki Breece. Right after we gave this glowing review to Hawthorne, [name removed], the director, kicked my mom out saying she was a "fall risk". This is after our one year care update when she said my mom could stay there until she passed with hospice care--which we did get. [name removed] denied ever saying that but my sister heard this as well. After we moved my mom (after making all kinds of adjustments so she could stay) I found out that [name removed] got an award for outstanding director! She needs to be replaced. The CARE STAFF at Hawthorne is AMAZING and they felt my mom could have stayed. They deserved the five stars!. The reason for the glowing review in the first place was we wanted to thank the staff for taking such good care of mom when she came back from the hospital. We wanted to buy a meal or do some type of special "Thank you" to the staff. [name removed] told us to write a good review and they would provide something for the staff. Well, that NEVER happened and she got a corporate kudos. I should have called the owner.

My wife and I recently assisted my mom in choosing an assisted living facility. Even though my mom picked a different facility, the staff at Hawthorne Place was extremely helpful and professional in helping my mom make her decision. Lea Ann was wonderfully caring and her assistance and positive demeanor made this process much easier. Thank you.

Hawthorne Place is awesome. Lisa Reynolds and her team do an amazing job caring for the residents. This is a small, family like facility. When Mom came home from rehab after being in the hospital, the nurses, CNA's and residents were so excited to see Mom and get her settled back in. It was very touching and let us know we have her at the right place. There are no words to express how much we love this place. When Mom is better, they have various activities every day to keep the residents busy. My Mom enjoys the food but they will also make something else for them if they don't like what is being served that day.

My mother has been a resident here for almost a year and I have to say I am very impressed with the care my mother has received. The staff is very caring, professional, and I can tell they truly care about the residents. Lea Ann was great to deal with when moving my mother to Hawthorne. She was very organized, answered all of my questions, and would always get back to me via phone or email. I have dealt with Lisa, the director, several times and each time has been such a pleasant experience. She manages the facility well and it is reflected in the care the residents receive. I am so thankful my mother is in such a fantastic community.

Lisa R spent 30 min on the phone today, a holiday, discussing Hawthorne as a possible care center for elderly patients with whom I work. She is sweet and knowledgeable and her eagerness to navigate clinicians to the appropriate facility, is palpable. Lisa shared information about the various levels of care in assisted living centers in general, including state requirements about single and double occupancy. Lisa is a great front line ambassador for Hawthorne!

Staff delivered high quality and genuine care for residents. Staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and were very personable & accessible no matter what time of day I would visit. My mother thrived in this environment. Highly recommend Bethesda Hawthorne for assisted living or memory senior care.

Our sister has been a resident of the Memory Care wing for almost 2 years. We have been very happy with this facility and the excellent care she has received. The staff and caregivers have been great to work with. Their actions demonstrate they truly care about their residents.

My wife and I assumed responsibility of a sister in late 2016 as she was in need of memory support. In the last two years, we have placed her in four retirement facilities in an attempt to find a suitable location for her. Our search was ended when we chose Bethesda Hawthorne Place. We have many new friends at Bethesda Hawthorne Place.

My mother has been a resident since June 1, 2018. We are extremely satisfied with the care and facilities at Hawthorne Place. The staff are caring and continue to ask what more they can do to ensure our satisfaction. The facilities are well designed and practically new. The social opportunities are frequent and varied and add that personal touch that goes a long way in helping make Hawthorne Place an exceptional place to live.

My Aunt is the first resident that moved into Hawthorne Place when it opened. I am very pleased with the support that she has received from the staff especially while recovering from a broken wrist. The facilities are lovely and well designed for seniors.

We loved the facility when we first saw it. It is in a quiet easily accessible part of town and it's brand new. My Mom's one bedroom apartment was very nice, well laid out, and very quiet. She lived on a small hall and all the residents ate dinner together in a small dining room...really great! She made friends easily with other residence due to this arrangement. The staff who cared for her each day were not only attentive and responsible, but developed a great relationship with her and obviously cared about her as a person. The staff nurses monitored her meds, vitals, and overall health daily and contacted us with any concerns. They worked closely with her doctor as well. When she had to leave after 14 months, due to me moving to another state and so taking her with us, it was difficult for her to leave, and we worried about finding a place she would feel as comfortable in and where we knew she would be well cared for and loved. She received a phone call from a Hawthorne staff member and a card from some folks at Hawthorne within a few days of leaving. Wonderful!! I can't recommend this facility and the staff highly enough!!
