This is a wonderful facility. I have been teaching AARP Safe Driver classes at Knollwood Place since July of 2024. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The facility is grand. I teach in the conference room which is laid out with a large TV and executive chairs, very comfortable. Numerous times they have delivered food from the Nosh Nook Deli and the food was excellent. The staff is very friendly from the front desk to the Marketing team, which I interface with for the classes. On December 10 2025, our last class, it had snowed and there were many members of the staff helping to clear walks along with the maintenance staff. I was very impressed. If you are looking for 55+ Independent Living Apartments Id encourage you to check them out.

The only reason I give two stars is because I applaud Knollwood for the great job they do selling themselves and the health services the Shalom facilities has to offer, however, once moved in, realized this was all talk. We moved my dad in the end of July 2025, filled out a release form for him to be assessed by their in house home care service and have never heard back. I called the person in charge of that area and they never responded. We’ve also been attempting to arrange specialized therapy for the past 2 months through their social services director who has twice, promised specific dates for appointments that never happened. They won’t communicate or return our repeated calls for an explanation. This facility is mismanaged and they don’t seem to care about the needs of their tenants and community.

I was looking for an apartment for my friend Scott and received a flyer about Knollwood Place in the mail which caught my eye. I was interested as Scott was Jewish and the community at Knollwood seemed to be a place where he would feel most comfortable. We found the initial greetings from Susie Held to be very inviting and accommodating as I had to reschedule twice. Scott was pleased with the friendly reception of those we encountered during the tour and the apartments we looked at were definitely inviting. Although Scott was unfortunately struggling with illness the entire time of his stay all of the staff and residents were consistently friendly and outgoing. Scott passed away before he could take advantage of all the activities offered but each activity that was offered included subject matter in a variety of interests including movies, exercise, lectures, and presentations. Transportation to outside activities was often provided. The staff cared a great deal for the comfort and safety of its residents. I am grateful and sorry to not be visiting regularly again.

Eating at the Knollwood nosh is simply amazing Cyrus nat and drew has brought it back to deli style the food is amazing and delicious

My dad lived at Knollwood Place for almost a year and was so happy there. He really enjoyed all the classes and found something interesting to do nearly every day. Dad also ate at the dining room every week night and the food is great. The staff at Knollwood is so kind and welcoming. A great experience for our family.

The building is old and need of repair. Poorly managed and run on a shoe string. The roof leaks constantly and they patch the roof like a whack a mole game. Money from large donations were put into sprucing up the common areas to attract new tenants. You are offered an inadequate continental breakfast 5 mornings a week. My loved one has been eating the same oatmeal and a half a bagel for years. There is a charge for eggs or pancakes. You also receive only 2 free dinners a month offered Monday through Thursday only. Kitchen help and food is from a Kosher Catering off sight service. My loved one has experienced abusive treatment by one of their servers twice. It was reported and this server remains employed. Food is very expensive and hit or miss. For what they charge you can do much much better elsewhere.

Moved my mother into Knollwood place over a year ago. The experience was seamless. Staff is very attentive. My mother had been living in her home alone the past few years. She has blossomed at Knollwood. She no longer spends her days alone but is enjoying the many activities Knollwood Place has to offer. We are both very happy with her experience there and would like to thank the caring staff that makes this a great place to live.

My Mom is absolutely delighted to live at Knollwood Place apartments. My dad, z"l, passed away nearly 15 years ago. Mom had been living in the house they built, alone, for all that time. Reticent for some time about moving, Mom has been beyond pleased about living at Knollwood. Maintaining her independence, she now lives in a very comfortable (and SAFE) apartment. She participates in the activities she chooses. Regularly reflects upon in retrospect how lonely she was in the "old house". Mom was immediately warmly welcomed by other residents and the terrific staff. She has made many new friends and become reacquainted with others from nearly decades ago. She loves opting in to the suppers with her friends at Knollwood----she enjoys these fun social times and loves the food! Similarly, she has a great time with many activities and outing opportunities as well as the peace and quiet her spacious, clean and comfortable apartment provides. We are happy (and relieved:). Mom is now in a place where she is truly happy---socially engaged and safe. There are now many choices to consider---we are so fortunate in our community Knollwood Place apartments continues to be a "cut above"!

They have been absolutely amazing in all aspects of our family's move. The level of customer service we've received has been top-notch, and their follow-through has been excellent. I must say that our communication with the team has been the best! Post move, the level of professionalism continued! We are so grateful for such an amazing place for our parents!
