My mom, 81, recently moved into Okalee, and we are all delighted! She is currently independent and moved into an independent apartment, but we like the fact that increasing levels of assistance will be available if she needs them, from assisted living through memory care. My mom has two little dogs who are very important to her, and we were so excited to find a place for her that welcomed both of her dogs! Okalee is beautiful and has all the modern amenities, but is also small and homey, in a beautiful and peaceful natural setting. My mom's apartment has a fantastic view, and she and her dogs enjoy daily walks on the private nature trail. My mom loves her new apartment, and we are so happy that she and her dogs are in a beautiful, safe, enriching environment! Kaari Cox

Okalee of Medina has become a new home for my sister. She was in a rehab facility for an extended period and not able to move home after her rehab was complete. She needed to move to assisted living on short notice. The staff at Okalee was so helpful as we navigated this big transition. The community at Okalee has been so good for my sister. The staff is professional AND personable. Nurse Jessica is on top of health care needs. The kitchen staff prepares wonderful meals and serves them cheerfully while chatting with residents by name. The fitness center is available for residents by choice and for physical therapy. The common areas are well designed and welcoming. Windows look out over wetlands, forests and fields. I am so grateful for the peace of mind Okalee has provided for our family.

This is the perfect company and building for me to grow my career with. Cassia and Okalee are hands down amazingly run organizations. I have had my share of negative work environments, and I can say - without a doubt - this is NOT a negative work environment. We have so much fun together and we love to work closely with the residents to make this building their home. We all have one passion in common - the residentsOur Executive Director supports her employees and strives to grow our team into a strong unit that takes care of our residents by giving the best care and attention.Our Nurse has been diligently keeping up with COVID-19 and we have successfully kept COVID out of the building by following strict PPE Guidelines and the nurse educating us on MDHs guidelines.Our Cook is flexible, creative and makes the dishes that remind the residents of when they were able to cook for their families - and they LOVE that!Our Activities Director is absolutely one of the most amazing people we are blessed to have on this team. She is creative, patient, and phenomenal at her job. She has come up with COVID friendly activities and keep everything clean and safe for our residents. She visits with residents that may be more reserved and gets them to come to crafts and activities and engage with others residents.Our Marketing Director is passionate about getting this building filled. She is eager to learn the ropes of Senior Living and is so fun to work with.I have never been so eager to get to work everyday, to work with this team, this company and the builder. My day flies by and when I am gone, I truly miss being here!10, 10 would recommend living and working here!

Thank you to the wonderful management team here at Okalee for inviting me to work here while I am not able to be at my regular work location. I usually work at another Cassia facility, Open Circle of Hopkins (an Adult Day Center) as the Administrative assistant. It was temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Mid-March of 2020, while it is open again due to the limited capacity with social distancing and the fact that we work with the most vulnerable age group I have not been able to return... The building here at Okalee is brand new, the grounds are beautiful, and I have never worked in a facility that had so many food options (not only for the residents, but for the staff too!) plus the management team and staff are so very caring and compassionate to all of the residents. I have been here at Okalee for almost a year with no date for returning to my regular position in sight. When that day eventually comes, it will be difficult for me to leave these fantastic people. Between the staff and residents, working at Okalee is a joy!

I am the Activity Director, Volunteer Coordinator at Okalee. I am extremely impressed with how well residents are cared for here. The building is very clean, state mandates to prevent Covid-19 are strictly followed which, thank God, has helped protect our residents and staff. The dietary department makes great food, the director works very hard to create menus that residents enjoy.All of the residents here are WONDERFUL. There is a great community here, where residents really care for each other. For example, one resident makes homemade cards for each new resident. There is not a day that goes by where I am not touched by the kindness of someone at Okalee. We love to laugh here as well. We have a lot of fun and look forward to all that we will be able to do post-pandemic!Staff truly care about the clientele at Okalee. That is what makes me happiest about working here.
