The Rivers Assisted Living – Reviews
Following the passing of my sisters husband, her living independently soon resulted in poor health, failure to take medications and hygiene issues. We moved her to The Rivers. It was one that she felt like home. Since being at The Rivers her health has improved so she no longer needs a walker and is more with it in being able to communicate with people. She also has a greater interest in getting out of her apartment and participating in activities. Her friends and I have noted the improvement of 100%. Part of it is getting her medications on time, better meals, but also the staff, from Luke, the Assistant director to the nurses, Meagan the intake person and Tina the resident representative are all friendly and interested in the care and happiness of the residents. Food is good, and portions more than my sister can eat, but never has she said there was a bad meal. We have a friend that had her parents move into The Rivers the same week as my sister, and the reports we have heard indicate they are having the same success that we experienced. We would highly recommend this facility, as we visited and compared many others places before choosing The Rivers.
sent my father to live here. was fine for the first couple weeks until I received a call that my father was hit over the head with a bed pan by a nurse. he was fine but not a big fan of that behavior. they serve great chicken though.
What makes Rivers a special place to live is the people. They are nice to each other. They care about each other as if they were family. The building and grounds are beautiful. The meals were a problem here but they have been changing a lot lately. However, there has been a lot of turnover in the last 10 years and I like consistency. Overall it is a great place to live.
I have always enjoyed living at The Rivers. The people here are nice. I do not know too many of the residents as I am a private person. My husband always loved congregating with the people.
My friend and I were looking and we heard about an opening here. I moved in here in October and I immediately thought this feels like home. The people and the staff are all pleasant and helpful. The people that live here are all enjoyable.
My Rivers. It has a way of sneaking in on us every morning. There is a brief period when it perches on the roof top, and then rises to shine down upon the beautiful landscaping that surrounds us at The Rivers. And, it enlightens us to know, that in so many ways we are home. Not simply in a place to live, but home. Its a comforting feeling. Our first visit, to determine if we wanted to become residents, was awe inspiring. As we walked through the front door we were first struck by the elegance of the front lobby, and its two-sided fireplace. Our guide was polite, informative, and didnt need to use high pitch sales tactics. We soon found that The Rivers sold itself. We were impressed by the spacious dining room, and how efficiently the meals were served. Cooking is now a thing of the past for us. We were pleased to see an exercise room and a pool. Its our choice to make use of these facilities, and we must take this challenge seriously. We paused by the aviary on the second floor, and could hear the birds chirping what sounded like; Come live at The Rivers, and stop by to visit us. The bird feeder in the courtyard draws a parade led by, and dominated by, ‘Boss squirrel. But, with crafty maneuvering, the rabbit, the crows, and doves are able to pick out their meal. The pretty lady who fills the feeders on a regular basis waves back when I tap on the window. It makes my day. It was the time for us to make a decision, and not place that burden on our children. Having looked at several other Senior Living Communities, it was easy for us to put The Rivers on the top of the list. We are home.
they have the most caring people. the facility is so well kept. a great place am very happy here.
We have been residents at the Rivers for nearly five years. Our children chose the Rivers for us when we moved here from Pennsylvania and we have been pleased with their choice. We like our apartment very much. The grounds at the Rivers consist of six acres of beautiful landscaping. The building is very attractive and the interior has just gone through a total facelift with new paint and carpet. Most of all, the greatest attraction has to be the residents. They are friendly, fun and welcoming. There have been many activities to keep us occupied in spite of the pandemic. The staff continues to find innovative ways to keep us involved and active. We look forward to a return to our more active social life with our friends, when it is safe to do so. Jack Smith
The Personnel here are what make the Rivers a great place. Lynn from housekeeping is very efficient and very good. Rebecca the concierge is great. Mansah from maintenance is great!
We must have looked at 15 senior communities before we chose The Rivers. The friendly staff knows everyones names. And weve made lots of friends. The floor plans were more interesting and diverse. The ongoing remodeling has made the place look very chic. Its located on a huge, lovely piece of land so that especially during the pandemic, theres plenty of places to walk, inside and out. We even watch the baby ducks grow up and fly away every year only to return as the cycle repeats itself.
Our Mom Grace and her longtime partner Philip moved into The Rivers this year before the pandemic struck. We dont know how our family would have supported them if they were still 4 hours away from the nearest family members. We have peace of mind knowing they are in a community with strong leadership, an abundance of caution and safeguards to avoid Covid-19, clear communications to residents and families, and regular meals-wellness checks-medication management. Additionally, Ellie Braun, the life enrichment director, kindly shared a few of our Zoom recordings with the dynamic duo, such as a family talent show and a riveting story about my brother-in-laws crawling out of the BWCA after breaking his ankle(!). The staff do what they can to stave off loneliness, boredom and isolation while residents are in their rooms and meeting family outdoors at a distance-masked. We feel so appreciative of the staff for going above and beyond, and were also glad theyre getting a new food service company in September to make the meals better. As I know from being an Activity Director at an assisted living community in SF, foods a big deal for seniors, and I imagine much more so when youre sheltering in place! Thanks to The Rivers team from Anita and Roberto Renzetti, SF Bay Area.
Great place! I wouldn't bring Mom anywhere else!
My mom recently moved into memory care here. She is receiving great care. The rooms and grounds are very nice with many places to sit and relax or talk with others. We really like the staff, beginning with the executive director on down to the nurses and aides working with our mom. They are on top of Mom's needs and keep the communication lines open with us so we can be in the loop. I would highly recommend The Rivers!
My grandmother is currently residing in the new memory care unit. She definitely needs to be in a secure unit, but her dementia isn't as advanced as most of the other residents in all the other memory care units we looked at. But at The Rivers, they noticed this and so they created a second momory care unit for people that are still in the early stages of alzheimers but need the security of a locked unit. It is so nice for Nana to have others in the same boat as her and its esp nice my Nana has others to talk to, or do activities with, or even just not feel like she's being punished and locked in a unit with people that are constantly reminding her of what she has to look forward to with this awful disease. I think she has a much more positive attitude and has had less behaviors. SHe's sleeping and eating better and I think she's happier than I have seen her in years. And we owe it all to The Rivers! They actually care a lot about their tenants and are constantly trying to make a difference in their lives. You can tell that they are not just in it for the money but they have a passion for what they do. I would definitely recommend ANYONE looking for senior living or memory care to go check out this amazing facility and if they don't offer something you really wanted, you can ask and they will probably work on getting it for you. They have been so helpful to Nana and all our family. They really are a Godsend.
Right away I saw residents and staff smiling, milling around, busy. I had a good feeling about this place
Large and clear senior living residence. Great mix of folks of different ages, background, and levels of care.
