Our family has been very happy with our stay at American House Lakeshore. The calendar is chock full of available activities, which include many off-site field trips. The opportunity for social connection has been a major benefit. The staff is friendly, helpful and committed. Building maintenance is ongoing, keeping things looking fresh. Onsite care providers are always available, with an array of la carte services depending upon need. Outside providers offer services such as flu shots, hearing tests there’s always something going on. We feel lucky we found such a supportive place to live.

We researched many local senior housing options before deciding on American House Lakeshore. I am very glad we have our mom here. Many other locations have older facilities that are in disrepair and many others had higher starting prices plus the nursing care on top. While this is not inexpensive, I feel the facility, the staff, the amenities, food and activities are all excellent. It feels more like a nice hotel than a senior home. It is very clean and set in a very nice location. We truly appreciate the staff and all that they do to make this such a great place to have an aging parent(s) live.

From the second we started when our mom could walk and talk and exist fairly independently to those last sacred hours in hospice, the staff went beyond every level of care to help us accompany our mom. American House Lakeshore is a phenomenal facility. My husband has been a resident in Memory Care for a year. He has been treated with respect, dignity and love by the entire staff. They know him well. They anticipate his needs and understand his demeanor in a variety of situations. It amazes me that when we walk by a staff member, including those who work in other parts of the building, they say, Hey, Larry. How are you today. They make sure he feels part of the American House community. The food is excellent with a variety of options They pay careful attention to his diet and consumption. Entertainment is wonderful and there are an incredible number/variety of activities for the residents. No one sits alone in their room all day. They handle his medical needs and communicate with his medical providers on a timely basis. In addition, if I feel the need to get in touch with someone, I can call or text anytime of the day or night. The caregivers are wonderful people who are truly dedicated to their work. I am grateful to have found this place my husband now calls home..

This clean, nicely decorated and well taken care of facility is conveniently located close to doctors and hospitals in Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores. Overall, the staff is caring and kind. The staff looks out for the elderly residents and makes them feel at home...this is so important as so many folks who live here have relocated from a home they had lived in for decades. The front porch, full of comfortable furniture, is a favorite spot to sit and visit while catching views of the lake and watching traffic go by.

I am 106 years old and I moved into Lakeshore Senior Living which is now the American House when I was 102. The staff is extremely kind and very helpful. The Director Shannon East always makes everyone feel at home as well as family and friends who visit. Even during the pandemic they have controlled outbreaks in an expedient manner. Rae , Entertainment Director,. always has wonderful activities and field trips which sometimes I am able to attend. They know the residence by name and go out of their way to make every day special. When you need extra help in daily living, I recommend this place

I can't say enough about them, they are caring, observant, kind, fun to be with and truly care about and know each resident. The rooms are always clean, the grounds are kept up and the food is delicious. Lakeshore offers many activities each day for the residents. They have lovely holiday events for both the residents and families. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and relaxing to be in. It is a wonderful community!

Love this place. Kinda sad that it is now an American House. It's clean and bright all the time. Seldom smells. Living quarters are 1 or 2 bedrooms apartments with full kitchen and separate living room. Meals are included. Lots of common areas to socialize. Laundry facilities on each floor. There is a movie room and The View (a bar) is nice!.
