The front porch, outer lights and railings are covered in spiderwebs and have not been cleaned all summer. There are carpet stains throughout the hallways that have been there for months. The employees are great with a few exceptions to the dining room floor staff.

We love American House Saint Clair Shores, we moved our mother in earlier this year and we have been very pleased with the whole Experience. Interesting on how our mother went to school at this property long before it became American House. It was Saint Gertrude's Church and grade school / high school !! Independent living with a great community !

We researched many local senior housing options before deciding on American House Lakeshore. I am very glad we have our mom here. Many other locations have older facilities that are in disrepair and many others had higher starting prices plus the nursing care on top. While this is not inexpensive, I feel the facility, the staff, the amenities, food and activities are all excellent. It feels more like a nice hotel than a senior home. It is very clean and set in a very nice location. We truly appreciate the staff and all that they do to make this such a great place to have an aging parent(s) live.

My family and I could not be more impressed with the superior care our mom received from the staff of American House. From the second we started when our mom could walk and talk and exist fairly independently to those last sacred hours in hospice, the staff went beyond every level of care to help us accompany our mom. She found friends and a safe space there with activities and outings that thrilled her. Tamika, Darneshia, Kathryn, Christine and so many more saved our hearts and held them close as we all helped our mom live and die with dignity. Forever grateful

American House provided a safe, enriching environment for my Mom. Although she was initially resistant to moving out of her home & into an independent living apartment, she truly thrived there. With tons of daily activities, there was always something interesting to do. The staff became part of her extended family, and we are grateful for the kind and loving atmosphere she experienced there.

American House Lakeshore is a phenomenal facility. My husband has been a resident in Memory Care for a year. He has been treated with respect, dignity and love by the entire staff. They know him well. They anticipate his needs and understand his demeanor in a variety of situations. It amazes me that when we walk by a staff member, including those who work in other parts of the building, they say, "Hey, Larry. How are you today." They make sure he feels part of the American House community. The food is excellent with a variety of options They pay careful attention to his diet and consumption. Entertainment is wonderful and there are an incredible number/variety of activities for the residents. No one sits alone in their room all day. They handle his medical needs and communicate with his medical providers on a timely basis. In addition, if I feel the need to get in touch with someone, I can call or text anytime of the day or night. The caregivers are wonderful people who are truly dedicated to their work. I am grateful to have found this place my husband now calls home..

Very helpful and responsive staff for my father. The sales staff went above and beyond to help with the transfer of my father from rehab stay to memory care admittance to the American House in St Clair Shores. The entire staff in the memory care area have made the transition as smooth as possible.

This clean, nicely decorated and well taken care of facility is conveniently located close to doctors and hospitals in Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores. Overall, the staff is caring and kind. The staff looks out for the elderly residents and makes them feel at home...this is so important as so many folks who live here have relocated from a home they had lived in for decades. The front porch, full of comfortable furniture, is a favorite spot to sit and visit while catching views of the lake and watching traffic go by.

Their Community Relations Director, Rachael Nagorsen will go out of her way to provide you and/or your family with everything you may need to make the right decision based on the individual needs of your loved one. It is a safe & friendly environment, staffed by competent professionals! Take time to visit the property, take a tour, meet with staff and let them alleviate some of the stress that accompanies such a personal decision! Having recently done that in order to place my husband in their care, I strongly recommend you give American House Lakeshore your every consideration.

My mother moved into Lakeshore Memory Care unit in December 2021 and it has been a wonderful experience for her and us! The staff is awesome! I can't say enough about them, they are caring, observant, kind, fun to be with and truly care about and know each resident. The rooms are always clean, the grounds are kept up and the food is delicious. Lakeshore offers many activities each day for the residents. They have lovely holiday events for both the residents and families. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and relaxing to be in. It is a wonderful community!

I am 106 years old and I moved into Lakeshore Senior Living which is now the American House when I was 102. The staff is extremely kind and very helpful. The Director Shannon East always makes everyone feel at home as well as family and friends who visit. Even during the pandemic they have controlled outbreaks in an expedient manner. Rae , Entertainment Director,. always has wonderful activities and field trips which sometimes I am able to attend. They know the residence by name and go out of their way to make every day special. Love this place. Kinda sad that it is now an American House. It's clean and bright all the time. Seldom smells. Living quarters are 1 or 2 bedrooms apartments with full kitchen and separate living room. Meals are included. Lots of common areas to socialize. Laundry facilities on each floor. There is a movie room and The View (a bar) is nice!.

Great place to work very clean and friendly but balance has to go they unprofessional there going to bring that company down fast they need to hire they own staff or call rite at home to staff there balance hire people who steal from the company I was in training and saw girl from balance stealing out of residents room I spoke up and got fired over it

I came in today to try to talk to the wellness/activities director about doing entertainment sadly she left for the day, but I was greeted by friendly staff. My aunt now lives here. A few months ago I interviewed for a job here sadly I didn't get the job, but no harm in trying. The facility is nice.
