Update: It’s now a year later and we are so happy our mother is at StoryPoint. They really care for their elderly and go out of their way to make their days joyous ones. Our mother went from being angry at her old facility to being happy and calm here. We moved our mother here based on conversations we had with a good friend that is employed there. We found that everything she said was in fact true. The staff are ALL very nice and willing to help regardless of their "job". They go above and beyond to ensure your loved one is well taken care of. The entire staff is caring, this was very evident while moving our mother in. She was a little upset and the the caregiver that was with her easily calmed her down by using a soft, calming voice. It was apparent to me that they really do care for each resident as if they were their own family member. Everyone we met while moving mother in was exceptionally knwoledgeable, helpful, understanding and most of all welcoming. We couildn't ask for a better place for our mother to call home. We highly recommend StoryPoint!

My mom and dad both lived at Story Point. My dad passed 21 months ago and the staff and everyone in the facility were excellent. They love their residents. My mother just passed this last week and she got absolutely the best care and the Corso Care Hospice along with the Laurus caregivers allowed my mom to pass with dignity without suffering and they took care of us the family. There is so many activities groups coming in Bible studies devotions places to go and all in a beautiful fresh bright and loving setting. Thank you❤️

Too expensive for what you get here. My kids are telling me it’s not worth the cost and we need to look elsewhere. I wish I had known before selling my house and moving.

Our family moved our father to Storypoint in April, 2021, and we moved him out at the end of June. Was was a very traumatizing experience for my father and for all family members. The memory care unit is very short staffed, often with just one care giver for 20 residents. It is hard to keep all residence safe when the ratio is 20 to 1. My father, who is wheel chair/ bed bound, suffered falls, etc. Many of the caregivers there pulled me aside and apologized for the short staffing and the inability to take care of the residents. My father is on hospice and each time there was an incident regarding my father his case manager documented it, as required by law. Unfortunately, Story Point did NOT.....no record to be found. When hospice staff inquired, the response was, "there was no incident". We learned a big lesson.....the way things "look" and the way things "are" are two very different things. I believe the independent living side is fine and perhaps assisted living, but memory care is not. Please do not send your loved one to memory care at Story point. Our Father is now at North Woods Village and it is night and day!! They are staffed, competent, kind, and extremely caring. We feel very, very blessed that we are able to get dad into this wonderful facility.

This community is really amazing! Its so cool to see so many people interacting with each other all the time. They really seem engaged and happy. The food really is something you dont see too often in a retirement community... they make really beautiful and delicious meals that everyone gets to enjoy together. You need to see this place for yourself ...

A good friend of mine is the Home Care Director there. She oversees the medical needs of the community, and has been a Nurse for 20+years. She has a genuine heart for those that she serves, so I know that place is in very good hands with her being there.

I have had the pleasure of working at this community since they have opened. It has been an exciting ride with being one of the fastest filling communities in the nation. Beautiful community, dedicated team, and I love the smiles from our family of residents. Our Award Winning Culinary team WOW us daily, we get to eat with our eyes and our yummy taste buds. The New Life Enrichment Director - Megan has so many great things going on its like a cruise ship! Mix-o-logy class, fruit & ice carvings, gardening club, fitness, mystery trips, excursions. And did you know we offer a Nurse Navigator to help you and your loved one on your medical journey. Have a planned surgery or an unexpected fall, she can assist you and make sure you have a smooth transition. I must say that Chelsie, on the Housekeeping team, has been so kind to my Mom! Not only does she do a great job cleaning, but she goes above and beyond - like graciously helping find an earring that has fallen on the floor, or finding a phone that has fallen out of eyesight. The Dining Room manager, Laurie, has been kind to our family as well. She has accommodated our family in finding a spot for us to have a gathering. She is always quick with a smile, and will take a minute to visit. It is the employees of StoryPoint, that work day in and out, to make lives better for the residents. We are thankful for all that you do!

We recently moved my Father into StoryPoint of Portage and we are very impressed with the whole team from the front desk, leasing agent, maintenance, activities team to the cleaning staff. They work hard everyday to assist the residences and families of their residences. The team at StoryPoint of Portage are friendly, helpful and follow thru on the commitments they make. It is the first time I can leave town knowing my father (I am using my Daughters google account to write this) is safe, will be taken care of and will have things to do with friends, a huge relief from him living alone like before. The place is clean, the food is good and they are improving things all the time. My dad has met lots of new friends who are the same age, and is learning there are others like him dealing with the same things as you age. There are plenty of activities, outings and special programs for residents to keep them moving, engaged and have a great quality of life. I am so glad we choose Story Point of Portage! To the team there, THANK YOU for making a difference and working so hard to make StoryPoint what it is!!

This place really sets the standard of what senior living should be. Ive had multiple wonderful meals with this community. The residents are really involved and thriving with the activities that this community provides them with. This is 100 percent somewhere I would want my parents to live.

I had the opportunity to visit this great place recently to visit a friend. The front lobby was so inviting and cheery and the lunch area was like visiting a fine bistro. My parents are getting older and we worry about them living by themselves, this will be a wonderful option.

I have been to Story Point more than once. It is a beautiful place to live. There are activities for the residents to participate in. They have special social events continually. The food is always wonderfully prepared and presented by their excellent chief and his staff. I cant think of any other place that can even compare much less compete with them.

There are many reasons I love working at StoryPoint Portage, one of them being the staff. Its such a fun atmosphere full of hardworking individuals that make me WANT to come in for work. Another large bonus is the flexible schedule where I get to work around school and family life to fit in work. Lastly, I love working with the residents at StoryPoint. Theyre all so sweet and caring and make you feel like youre a part of their family. Serving them is a pure joy and I wish I could for longer than I am available to. I HIGHLY recommend working at StoryPoint portage!

I work at StoryPoint and it feels like a home away from home. My coworkers and the residents of the community make my job so great. I love going to work everyday. It is not perfect but the directors and the staff truly works hard to address every need and issue. StoryPoint is constantly working to improve in any way it can to better serve its residents. Im so happy to work for a company that cares about the well being of its staff and residents. Im also grateful that StoryPoint does not keep staff who are not there for the residents. I would feel very comfortable leaving my grandparents in their hands. Very grateful for a team that puts residents first.

I absolutely love working at Story Point. The sense of community that you see here between the residents is something that I dont think I can even put into words. Residents are constantly checking in on each other and really care about one another. Being an employee here, it feels like a home away from home. I love seeing the residents everyday and hearing the stories they have to tell and advice they give. The directors and other staff work together in the best interest of all residents and with the families too, I think everyone here has a unique experience for their own needs and we will always do what we can to make them feel at home!

A little over a year ago my wifes mother was at just the right point in her life to benefit from a place like StoryPoint of Portage. Her doctor recommended she eat healthy, stay physically active, and stay socially active. We saw the potential for all three at StoryPoint of Portage. Over the past 15 months of living in independent living at StoryPoint of Portage my mother-in-law has truly benefited from the very tasty and nutritious dinners, the ability to stay physically active via structured exercise opportunities nearly every day of the week, and the chance to interact daily with dozens of her new and friendly peers. Over the past 15 months my wife and I have also appreciated meeting and getting to know the StoryPoint of Portage staff. We have consistently been treated with genuine interest and respect and we have observed on every occasion my mother-in-law being treated in a similar manner.

I enjoy coming to work because many of the residents have become my friends, which is very rewarding, and I admire how most of the people here all care about each other. Working here has given me many new perspectives because the residents inspire me.
