Brookdale Memory Care was very impressive! All the staff were very welcoming to myself and my Dad. He will be moving in at the end of the Feb. It is warm and cozy and the food selection is impressive! I am so glad he will be able to socialize with others and most importantly be protected. Very happy with our Brookdale choice for dad.

I would not recommend this memory care facility to anyone. The rates are sky high. My husband was there for 2 years. When he was admitted, he received excellent care. Everyone pitched in to help, including the Executive Director, Health and Human Services Director, Sales and Marketing Director, and other managers. The Directors had an open-door policy, in which the residents were allowed to enter if they wanted to, just as long as the Director's work was not being interrupted. Then, the pandemic hit. One by one the employees left. After the Executive Director retired, the early part of 2021, things went downhill fast. The bill skyrocketed in cost. When a new Director was hired last year in spring, she wanted all of the doors and blinds in all of the Directors' offices closed. She told the other Directors not to help with the care of the residents. According to her, the aides were in charge of the care and only the aides and not the Directors, as previously. This affected the care of my husband, who was in hospice, as well as other residents. I would come in at 2 p.m. and find my husband still in his underwear and in bed, not being taken care of and being fed; urine was all over the floor in the bathroom; aides were sitting around socializing, when they could have been either walking the residents or taking them to the bathroom. Then, I would get complaints that he was always incontinent. If they had taken him to the bathroom every 2 hours, this would not have happened, and I told them that. All of the staff needs to work together. The directors cannot run a facility behind closed doors. In August, 2021, I moved my husband to another facility. Executive Director and the Health and Human Wellness Director did not even say good-bye when the ambulance came to transport him. Once he got to his new facility, I, immediately, saw the difference. The aides and the nurses knew how to take care of my husband. It was a relief for me to, finally, find a caring place!

Brookdale provides a warm and welcoming environment with friendly staff and lots of activities. They have an on-site beautician and personal rooms can be custom designed and decorated. The staff truly care about every individual. It is a cozy community that truly feels like home. This is somewhere that I would feel very comfortable having my mom stay knowing that she is being well cared for.
