Nakisha (Nikki) Johnson is the most wonderful person we have ever met! We first met her when we took my mom for a tour of Elmhaven Manor shortly after my dad passed away and we were absolutely blown away with Nikki’s empathy and willingness to help my mom, who is 83 and a stage 4 cancer survivor. Nikki went above and beyond and she didn’t know us from Adam (Old saying) and proceeded to find my mom a gorgeous apartment. We now consider Nikki Family and can’t wait to see her every time we stop in. Thank you, Elmhaven Manor, for having such a wonderful and caring person like Nikki on your staff!

This facility is clean, well maintained, and has friendly, caring staff. The people in the front office truly look out for the best interests of the residents and treat them with respect. I appreciate that they call people Mr., Ms., or whatever is appropriate. I feel that places where staff use infantilizing words like 'honey' and 'sweetie' dismiss people's agency. I really like this place!

This is one of Pontiacs best hidden secrets. Staff over here - Manager, Rae and Administrative Assistant, Kim and Activity Director are really outstanding. They go far above and beyond to make it fun and exciting for us residents. They maintain a very hygienic and safe residence and care about the safety and welfare of the residents.

Elmhaven Manor is a wonderful place to live. I have lived here for 4 years, Hats off to Rae, Emily , Kim, Pam , Juan ,Eddie ,and Jerome ,they make a wonderful team! the building is well managed and always being upgraded, fast repairs the tenants are very nice and i feel like family here, we play games and go places. I am very happy and have made a lot of new friends if i need a hug someone is always there. a special thanks to Emily Baron who is just fabulous and has brought a new dynamic to the office leasing dept. bringing in a lot of new tenants. Moved my loved one, 94 years old, in January 2025. The staff is outstanding. Always friendly and helpful with any issue. The ladies in the office are always cheerful and easy to talk to. The dining room lady has encouraged my family member to join in activities. Don’t hesitate to check them out!

Management, staff and maintenance are all fantastic. They will do anything we need with a smile. If we could just get a really good chef again it would be absolutely perfect! I recently moved from a two bedroom to a one bedroom apartment. Management, maintenance and all staff went all out to ensure my happiness with my new apartment. I’m thrilled with my new apartment and thankful to all who helped make my move a success, I have lived at Elmhaven for several years and plan to be here for many more!

My grandmother moved to elmhaven about 7 months ago. Emily has been extremely supportive and an amazing advocate since the very beginning. Emily is kind, patient, understanding, and is always willing to go above and beyond. My mother is a healthcare executive that promotes outstanding quality everyday. I am very confident in sharing that Emily is a stellar professional and I highly recommend elmhaven as a wonderful place for seniors to reside which is largely due to Emily being a member of the elmhaven team.

My mother has been a resident at Elm Haven since 2006. The Complex has been kept top notch and well staffed since she moved into her apartment. This spring my mother decided to relocate to a new apartment within the complex. The transfer was made so easy by the Administrative Secretary Emily Baron. Emily was professional and very well informed about the process of transferring apartments. The new apartment was clean and ready for her on move in day . Elm Haven Manor has a very polite, knowledgeable and skillful staff that has made my mother very comfortable to call Elm Haven home. The Management company should be very proud of the entire staff at Elm Haven. The staff takes time to help wherever it is needed.

Wonderful community for my sister. Management very caring. She enjoys the dinners, activities and events, the many courtesy transportations and weekly Catholic church service. Could use freshening of carpet in halls and better handling of trash disposal policy though.

I have never been without power in an apartment for two days before. The manager was checking on the tenants, providing food and water plus asking if we needed anything or how were we doing. I was impressed and pleased. I like it here. It’s quiet, clean and peaceful. I have sold my home, and don’t plan on living in a house again. This place, so far is ideal for me. I still get around pretty good, and I try to be helpful to any tenants that I see, needs help. Like one tenant that couldn’t remember what apartment they lived in, they were new here. Or, when the fire alarm was going off and tenants on walkers and such were in the hallways concerned. The people here are friendly and nice. I like the guy that does the dinner meals. I especially liked the bazaar, where I bought some afghans and sweaters. I’m still working and driving. I also like the scheduled events here, such as shopping, and casino trips. They are ideal for companionship, and a way to get some air and a change of scenery. So, it’s nice to know if I needed to, or wanted to that this opportunity is available. Ok, I’m done. My name is Lawrence, I’ll be seeing you around the building some time. This picture was taken of me by my mom, at her home in Detroit. I had left home here and stopped there at my moms on my way to work. I’m seventy- one, and my mom will be ninety in two weeks. Friendly staff and residents. Interior corridor carpet could be replaced. Badly stained and worn. New kitchen meal service isn’t as great as previous Green Apple restaurant service. Less options, smaller portions, more money.

I have lived here since April and I enjoy meeting new residents. I have only one issue and that is the fact that the washers and dryers are so expensive. I do my laundry where it costs $1.00 for wash and $.25 to start for the dryers, you can add more if the clothes need more time. I would do my laundry here if it cost like the laundromat. I haven't had a chance to use all the available activities since I am dealing with many family issues right now. I hope to become more involved in the future. The staff are great, they are very respectful when I have questions and the maintenance men and the cleaning staff are very courteous when I see them.

My experience at Elmhaven. Manor ,I have had a great experience with many people at ElmHaven MAnor in the three years I have lived here. We had a few little instances in 1920 & 1921 re.office management but has been completely resolved.

We really like the Elmhaven. The people there are great ( both tenants and staff). My mother stayed there until she needed to be in an assisted living facility. If you are looking for independent living with activities to bring tenants together with a very affordable rent, then the Elmhaven is perfect. it was for my mom.
