Charter has a family atmosphere! They have lots of activities/entertainment for the residents; I enjoy watching them participate. The director of the Activities Dept. is great!

A truly exceptional staff. Friendly, polite and professional. My Dad gets along with the staff at least as well as any of the residents maybe better and that's saying something because all the ladies love my father. I love the staff as well because they help me help my father who can be a handful. Just a stellar team all-around.

I thought the event was wonderful and I was glad to have been invited. I also love the renovations that have been done to the facility. It's nice to know that such a place exists for seniors. I wish more seniors could afford to live like this in our old age.

Just before Thanksgiving a client was extricated from an abysmal group home to become a resident at Charter Woodholme and the experience has been extremely uplifting for him. These people are operating high caliber, and exemplifying professionalism. Jared, Johnny, Rick and the other members of this organization are quickly (immediately) responsive and swing into action to keep residents happy, meeting all of their needs. Places this nice are hard to find. So happy to have found it. So far so great!

Overall we had a good experience at Brookdale Senior Living. Amy made us feel very welcome from the start. Laura made sure we had lots of visits and video chats with Pop during the Covid19 Pandemic. Thank you Laura for helping Pop with his accordion. It was great seeing him play it again. We did leave Brookdale so Pop could be closer to where we live, and when this virus lifts it will be much more convenient to visit him frequently. Thanks a bunch to everyone who took care of Pop. We appreciate all of you.

What I have been concerned about these past few months is of course the COVID-19 pandemic and how this facility would treat this unusual occurrence. I was not disappointed. I received e-mails on the latest correspondence related to the Governors mandates regarding those living in assisted living facilities and nursing homes. I received these e-mails on a weekly basis or monthly basis, or whenever deemed necessary from the Executive Director. They took the necessary precautions mandated by the state. They are still doing it. I talk to my sister at minimum once a week and there is someone who is always knocking at the door to clean, throw out the trash, getting the food menu for the day, delivering mail or something and I personally like that. We video chat not because of the pandemic, but because I live in El Paso, Texas. It is important for me to know that my sister is safe. There are physicians, Dentists employed for the residents. Many activities and many mental health therapies as needed. When I have a question, someone answers. If I am a pest with my questions, someone answers. If there is a question for me, I get a call. Every 6 months there is an evaluation that is sent to me for review to let me know the physical condition that my sister is in. I think I made the right choice for my sisters needs. Veronica Fulton

During his three year stay in the memory care unit, my husband, Edward, was treated with dignity and respect by the Care Givers. They were caring and sensitive to his special needs. In addition to the excellent care, Brookdale Pikesville offered many enjoyable activities for families and friends throughout the years. I recommend this community to all who are in need of special care.

The COVID-19 Virus has decimated too many Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facilities. I am incredibly happy to state - Not at the Brookdale Assisted Living Pikesville, Maryland, where my mother resides. They have set as their priority protecting the Residents from the COVID-19 Virus and been extraordinarily successful at that endeavor, at the same time providing the residents with a caring environment. Have had the honor of working with thousands of seniors and their families for four decades within the field of Cardiology and can unequivocally state that Seniors deserve no less then the protection and care provided by Brookdale Assisted Living. We had looked at a number of different communities in the area and most of them were fine. Some of them were a little too large in what we were looking for but generally, most of them were out of our budget range. When we had come across this community the timing seemed to be on our side they had a shared suite with an opening and the price fit within my moms budget. It's been a bit of an adjustment for her moving here but the staff has been good in helping her. They have been very kind and friendly. There are lots of things to do here and mom is having a good time doing activities. She is enjoying the food well balanced.

Facility was very nice overall and is being renovated with new decore in common areas and in the rooms. Lobby smelled a little funky. Staff was very nice and happy. Residents were happy. They do not take vouchers and the pricing that you have is incorrect. Smallest room starts at $3250 and then services increase the costs from there.

I'am doing pretty well since my move to this community. It was a hard move, but I'am getting to the routine around here. The staff has been very helpful and welcoming. I've made a few new friends. The meals are pretty good for the most part. Overall it is still a work in progress, but I'am pleased with my move to this community.

I was looking for a place for my cousin. She was living alone, no other family and she was getting weaker in her aging. It was getting harder for her to go up and down the stairs. I called a Place for Mom, I was under the impression that they had senior facilities by that name. I found out they were a referral service. They referred me to several places in my area,, I chose Brookdale why? Because of the first impression of the staff. I toured the building, it is clean every person that I saw there ( all the seniors) were clean. No trash no dirt. I was hooked and knew my cousin was going to live it too. She is moving next month and she is more excited than I am. Thank you Place for Mom, you are doing a good job

My family has had a very good experience with Emeritus. The staff is very nice and warm and caring. My mom was well taken care of and looked after. After she passed away the people there were very caring and sympathetic and said they would miss her. When you sign a contract with Emeritus you have signed something that says when the resident leaves you will vacated the apartment within 10 days. Other people have commented that no one helped them etc. Okay that is not their job - its your job to get a mover or ask to use their dolly and they will get it for you. I would not hesitate to recommend Emeritus of Pikesville to another family. The only negative comment I do have is that I think especially in the evening they need more aides on duty - for those that need help getting in and out of bed to use the rest room.
