Money hungry! Staff is great though. My mom passed on April 15, then they want 4,400 for not not giving a 30 day notice. It is not like we pulled her out of there mid month, she died!

I made a highly stressful decision for my husband’s memory care, selecting Whitney Place in Westborough. Two and a half years ago, we moved to the Willows independent retirement community, on the same campus, knowing that we would each probably need greater assistance as we aged. My husband’s wandering, sooner than expected, required a safer environment with far more security and stimulation than I could give him at home. As I spend nearly every day, visiting him, I have been invited to join activities as a part of a congenial group of residents and staff. Other spouses and loved ones often gather for lunches, cookouts, sing-alongs, games, and movies. We are always welcome to participate, as we add our support and love, while forming friendships with others in our shared lifestyle. My positive observations formed over a year, now, continue to validate the worth of such a memory care environment. My husband’s room is sunny and cheerful,... large enough for sleeping, lounging, and visiting, He has a private bath, and kitchenette, TV, and favorite items from home, with a desire to avoid clutter. A floor nurse is present, and checks residents’ weight and general well-being, keeping us informed. Medications are professionally dispensed. Caregivers are kind and experienced in gently prodding residents to be safely independent, with a bit of playfulness on their part. Grooming, selecting their own clothes, and enjoying group exercises and parties, provide far more real-life richness than merely watching others from a couch at home. A hair salon is just a few steps away, encouraging a continued pride in appearance. Group inclusion is satisfying, building greater confidence and self esteem. The food is quite good and varied, served in the regular dining room, with weekly special lunches in the Pub. Music, which is particularly comforting, is constantly present. There is variety in programs, decorations, and celebrations, providing a respite from boredom.. A well-kept garden, entered on the first floor, is available to residents, for walks, games, and general outdoor enjoyment. I constantly reassure my Willows neighbors that possible futures for us, at Whitney Place, can offer a continuation of joy albeit with modifications, when we are ready to welcome rather than fear it.

Whitney Place at Westborough was a very nice and clean community that we toured. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We chose another community that was a better match for our needs.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and so far we have no complaints of how things are going for her. The property is clean and they have a great activity program that I am hoping she gets involved in when she feels up to it. The only complaint that she has seems to have is the meals. They need some improvement in the quality and taste.

It was a lovely facility. However, it was really small and they few rooms available. I didn't feel my mother would be happy here.

I can't say enough good things about Whitney Place! The people here are wonderful, and they just walked me through the whole process and made everything as easy as it could be. I highly recommend them!
