My Mom has been a resident of The Highlands for more than 9 years. I can't say enough about the staff, management, facility, activities, and meals. This has been a perfect environment for Mom in her stage of life, providing all the comforts of home without the burdens of home ownership. I recommend The Highlands without reservation to those looking to join a senior community.

The Highlands in Westboro has given my mother a clean, safe, caring home when she could no longer stay in her own. Their philosophy of supporting a resident to "age in place" with dignity resonates with us and hopefully will keep my mother as young and independent as long as possible. They provide 3 nutritious and tasty meals every day with way more choices than expected - I don't know how the kitchen does it. The housecleaning staff are consistent and efficient. The meals are served by friendly & helpful people who often somehow seem to know all the residents. The apartment and campus is spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. The important Ambassador program provides more friendly & helpful resources to help a new resident figure things out. Highlands offers plenty of interesting activities, while striking a good balance of letting a resident do their own thing. The Community Sales Director Jeanne was so helpful when we were slowly making this tough decision. She graciously made herself available by phone and in person. She patiently showed us around countless times and always made us feel welcome and wanted. Managers Stephanie and Mac are extraordinarily well suited for their role as managers - professional yet so caring. They create a family atmosphere, assuring me at every turn that they are watching out for my mother. I don't understand how, but every phone call I have made has been promptly picked up by one of the 4 managers who are happy to talk to me as long as needed even though they are obviously kept busy at all times. They seem to want to help us in ANY way they can. The price (without any health care) is much better than other options we saw. Everyone there makes us feel welcome anytime we visit. Very happy with this decision so far!

My name is Belinda, daughter of Shirley Stevens, resident of The Highlands in Westborough, MA. The Highlands is an impressively beautiful building with spacious apartments. We were fortunate to secure rental of a 2-bedroom unit on the second floor which also has about a 30-foot-long balcony, and huge windows. Not only are the accommodations beautiful, but the people are as well. The Managers, Assistant Managers and all of the housekeeping and wait staffers are very loving people! The moment we showed up at The Highlands total strangers welcomed us, made conversation, shared information, and many became fast friends. In fact, very quickly these friends felt like family. Bonnie, the Activity Coordinator delights in coming up with great places to travel to, daily games to play, and always has a party whenever possible, often with a wide variety of entertainers that visit regularly. She truly loves each resident, and it shows by her bright smile and the laughter that tends to surround her. Bonnie spreads the joy each day, always goes above and beyond for “her residents” and has a heart of gold for each one. 2020 was a truly frightening year for all. We were so fortunate to have all these people watching out for the residents and one another. The building was continually being cleaned, sanitized, and all were following the Covid-19 protocols with great dedication. The Highlands is ALWAYS very welcoming for all family and friends to visit their residents which was a delight for Mom to be able to have her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren visiting her new home. This is a great place, and we are so grateful Mom is in very good company!

My sister is now a resident of The Highlands in Westborough, MA. The patience and understanding the staff has shown to her is exceptional. I will never forget how Stephanie, one of the managers, calmed all our fears and let my sister acclimate to her new surroundings at her own pace. Her kindness to my sister will never be forgotten.

My mother is a resident at The Highlands and it is a wonderful place for her to call home. The accommodations are beautiful . She is busy all day long due to the wonderful job done by Bonnie, the activities director. Bonnie does her utmost to make sure the residents are busy and more importantly, having fun. She makes herself available for anything the residents may need, even if they having a problem.y mother feels lucky and thankful to have Bonnie not only as the activities director but also as a friend that she could go to with any problem she may have. All the staff at the Highlands do a wonderful job making sure the residents are happy and safe and that makes us, as a family , feel secure. They have all done a fantastic job during the pandemic and we feel no matter what kind of questions we had they did their best to answer them for us. Keep up the good work!Mary McAuliffe

I sincerely recommend Highlands. The accomodations are terrific and the personnel is unbeatable. From the managerial staff, housekeepers, cooks and aides they all do their part to insure all the residents live graciously and independently.

My mother lived at The Highlands for almost two years, until she recently passed away. I think those two years were among the happiest in her life. The managers, Ned and his wife, Mary Beth, were exceptionally kind to my mom and went well beyond anything that could have been expected of management. They kept an eye on her health, her eating, and helped her whenever she needed assistance. Bonnie, the social director is also wonderful. Truthfully, I was shocked that almost the entire staff truly cares about the residents. Many staff members cried when they learned my mom had passed away. The facility is lovely, modern, and clean, with well-maintained gardens and pathways. My mom enjoyed the many social activities and made several good friends. She even loved the food! There is a hair salon on the premises owned by a couple who were also wonderful to my mom. My family had been very worried about moving my mom out of her home and into her own apartment after my dad died, but mom absolutely thrived at The Highlands.
