Familiar with the Gables from when my father-in-law lived there, it was the first place to come to mind when we started looking at places for my mom. I worked with Patty for several months before my mom moved in. She was always very helpful, accessible and caring. Mom has been at the Gables for a month now, and I have been able to relax knowing she is safe, and eating all the great food, and in knowing that the aides are always checking on her. We 100% made the right decision with the Gables… I thank each member of the staff for all they do, every day.

They were able to get us in quickly and put our minds at ease. Patti was wonderful-went above and beyond to walk us through every step. The nursing staff is wonderful! Our parents are safe and we have peace of mind. The apartment is very spacious and feels like home!

We had to make the life changing decision of transitioning my mom into an assisted living situation. Luckily, we thought of The Gables! I knew it was the place for mom from the moment we walked into the lovely foyer. Everyone was so kind and friendly! Their experienced and trained staff had me at ease knowing that my mom would be well taken care of. Patti was very helpful and compassionate and patiently guided us along making the transition very easy. Kristen eased my mind knowing that my mother's health is in kind and capable hands. The staff and resident community at The Gables has been so warm hearted and helpful! I'm so glad that my mom isn't just existing anymore...she's now living life enjoying socializing and developing friendships in this beautiful facility. I can't say enough about The Gables!!

OMG!!! I cant sing enough the PRAISES of this facility! It's been a godsend for my mother and our family! My mother has finally given up her defeated attitude and has come to life! At home she was vegitating away and barking orders. There, she is socializing, talking, playing Bingo, making friends, watching movies or just hanging around the lobby people watching. She loves her apt and the staff. So do we. They're marvelous, attentive, caring and servial. We are overjoyed that we placed her there and my mother says she's "earned a place like Gables." Indeed! She enjoys the food and has come alive! I would 1000% recommend the Gables to everyone. P.S. I'd like to move there myself!

We just moved my mother in a few weeks ago. Patricia Peterson was amazing to work with and very helpful explaining how the whole process would work etc. My mother loves her new home and says the food is delicious and everyone is very welcoming and friendly! The entire family could not be more happy with staff at the Gables of Fitchburg. The building and grounds are also very well taken care of.

The Gables of Fitchburg is a top notch locally owned living facility. This makes all the difference in the world in terms of quality of care. The pricing schedule is straight forward. Many services are included in the basic price whereas other facilities offer a cafeteria style plan that quickly becomes confusing and expensive as one adds services. The physical plant is impressive, with multiple common areas and apartments in several sizes. Most important is the staff, many of whom are long timers. Without exception, every staff member is highly competent and caring. The decision to move to an assisted living facility is never easy, but the Gables of Fitchburg makes implementing that decision easier.

The staff is their greatest asset at the Gables. Each department has top notch individuals who know what they are doing. They are very responsive and get things done to help you without long waits or call backs. They are friendly and work hard to make your stay a comfortable and fulfilling one. The premises are kept clean and safe. The food is very good and the dining room offers a good variety of foods and drinks at each meal. They also have a nice Cafe you can visit for coffee and desserts/sweets all through the day. We chose the extra large 1 bedroom apartment which is roomy with 1 and 1/2 baths, a den, living room, bedroom and a nice full sized kitchen. There is also a large beautiful balcony overlooking Coolidge park. We love it! After checking around at other places, The Gables had the best value by far for the money and is a smaller facility with more of a family feel than corporate feel. It is worth checking out!

It had to have been fate, when I dropped in at The Gables, to get some info on their Assisted Living packages. Both the Nurse and the Marketing Director each spent a significant amount of time with me, unscheduled, to show me apartments and talk about their services and operations. Several health care providers had recommended The Gables to me, so I thought I'd check it out. They were running a summer special at the time, and had a number of varied sized apartments available. I moved on this quickly, since my father (90 yrs old) needed help right away, and wasn't safe (physically, mentally or nutritionally) living alone, with all his health issues. I got him moved in the following month. Every apartment has fully functional galley kitchens (most AS places don't have kitchens), and the varied layouts had plenty of living space, with a balcony/patio with each. A huge selling point was that they include a good amount of care services with the monthly rent (unlike your typical 'a la cart' scenario). In the long run, that's a huge savings over time. I know that my father is well taken care of, with staff checking in on him and prompting him for his particular needs, throughout the day/evening. EVERY staff member is always very friendly, accommodating and courteous, to both the residents and their family members. I've found them to be VERY patient and understanding with everyone, no matter what the issue. The nursing staff is right on top of all of my father's individual needs. The food is good, and there are plenty of activities available, for those who wish to get involved. The place is kept very clean, and they've been very proactive and careful during COVID, to be sure residents are kept safe from infection. There's only one elevator in the building, and being a long building, those on the opposite end, have a long way to go to get to it. However, the staff will gladly transport anyone who needs help, to/from the elevators, if they want/need it. All in all, my father is doing better living here, and is adjusting well, especially since he resisted moving out of his house until now. He's eating better, and eating ALL meals now, isn't eating alone any more, and is getting the care he so needed, around the clock. This has taken a HUGE burden off of me, and I am much less stressed, knowing he's getting the care he needs and deserves. Thank you to everyone at The Gables!

This place is THE BEST!!!! My 89 year old mother needed to be in an Assisted Living environment. She was living independently until last November in NY, when she fell and fractured her hip. We realized that she could no longer live alone. We found the Gables and Mom hasnt looked back!!!! It is privately owned so you dont get the chain feel of service. The community is the perfect size where it is not overwhelmingly too large. It is beautifully maintained. The people, from the very first contact you make, are amazing and so very helpful and accommodating. Moms apartment is incredibly spacious, her kitchen is quite large and she has this unbelievable balcony that she just loves. There was a welcome size on her door when she moved in. The staff is just incredible. They are so genuinely kind and always so very helpful. After 1 week there, my mother felt at home, safe and comfortable. She did not feel any apprehension at all. WHAT A RELIEF! The apartment is well cleaned for her once a week. She goes to the dining room for her 3 meals a day. (She has decided that the kitchen is quite nice, but her cooking days are over.) She talks about how they truly cater to her dietary needs, and how the chef comes out to say hello. The staff took the time to introduce her to other residents on day 1. The activity and entertainment calendar always has something she is interested in. Someone checks in on her daily a few times throughout the course of the day to see if she needs any assistance with anything. She joked that the garbage can never gets full before its emptied. Her bed is made for her everyday. Her linens are laundered once a week. Thanks to the Gables, mom isnt just sitting all day watching tv or reading, she has things to do and people to see.... literally! She looks forward to going to the dining room and socializing with other residents. She looks forward to the activities that she chooses to participate in.... movie nights, the BIG crossword puzzle, musical entertainment on the patio, the chair exercise class, etc. Finding the Gables was truly a blessing for our family and most especially for our mother.

After an unfortunate accident, our Mom could no longer live alone. She has lived in Fitchburg all of her life. Our family chose the Gables because of its location and accommodations. Moms apartment is roomy, overlooks a park and it bright and cheery. Transition from independent living to assisted living was a challenge for Mom as she was reluctant to give up her independence. We found that the staff at the Gables supported the transition including coordinating with the skilled nursing facility she was released from and providing all the information we needed as a family to make the move as smooth as possible. Covid restrictions made this even more of a challenge! The Gables was flexible and gave us the time needed to set up the apartment and ensure that Mom was comfortable from day one. The maintenance staff even helped with hanging a heavy mirror and installing a handicap commode. When needed we had access to the administration and Nursing management to help us navigate the options for medication support and to understand the assessment of Moms physical needs. The staff was professional and patient when encouraging Mom to have meals in the dinning room and to participate in other activities offered for socialization. Since moving to the Gables Mom is gaining strength and showing continual improvement. We are grateful for all the Gables does to keep Mom safe and well cared for. Thank you!

From our interactions with the administration and staff before my father moved in, to the move in process and my fathers day to day life there, we have been nothing but pleased and impressed with their professionalism and caregiving. During these difficult times of Covid restrictions they kept safety in mind during the move in process while making the transition for my dad smooth and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with how quickly it felt like family and home to my father. It makes my heart smile to see my father so happy.

Though I have lived in Fitchburg all my life, I have never had any reason to consider the Gables until recently when my Dad moved back here from Florida. A Studio Room became available and we snatched it up, and we are glad we did. The staff has been so accommodating and go above and beyond to ensure that my Dad is comfortable and cared for...even during Covid19! They are caring and compassionate, no matter the situation or time of day. If I call for any reason, they are always willing to help. They even installed a handicap toilet for him. The place is well kept and improvements seem to be ongoing. In light of Covid, they even installed a new sun room where residents can visit with their loved ones through the glass. A gem, right here in Fitchburg.

My wifes parents are both there and love the place. The GABLES provides house-like space while also offering various levels of Assistance as may be needed. The applianced galley kitchen with a full size refrigerator is GREAT. The staff has been fabulous. They are friendly, courteous, and very attentive. The food is very good. During these Covid times, the GABLES has been very protective of their residents. We feel comfortable and confident with them there!

Our experience with the Gables has been nothing short of wonderful. Mom had such a difficult time deciding whether to go into assisted living. It helped her to first meet Patty who was warm, patient and accommodating while Mom made this life changing decision. Since arriving, we have found the Gables to be a family like atmosphere. The staff sincerely cares about the residents and works to create an engaging, friendly environment as well as never seeming too busy to be that friendly person to talk to on a lonely day. The Activities Director Jason keeps things lively and works to include all levels of ability. We have slept peacefully knowing the nursing staff is overseeing moms needs. I have needed to work closely with Kristen and Cindy who are knowledgeable professionals, easy to work with and helpful in guiding me through the difficulties of an aging parent. Have we had a few bumps along the way? Sure, thats to be expected, however how it is handled is what matters. The Executive Director Chris readily works with you and across disciplines to resolve concerns promptly or to help create solutions. Transitioning to assisted living is not easy on our parents but doing it in a facility like the Gables is as close to home as you can get. 5 stars.

Beautiful place! My Wifes Great Aunt lives here and she absolutely loves it. The Gables has so many great programs and activities for the tenants. It seems to be very safe. The only negative thing I have to say is how costly it is for seniors to live there. I wish it were more affordable.
