After a fall and a time in the hospital, we elected to move my husband’s mom from another local assisted living facility to the Peristyle at Beau West, to better meet her needs for 24/7 nursing care. We were not disappointed. We couldn’t have asked for better care. Milisa and her staff treated us like family. Tiffany and the other nurses were only a phone call away, and they were our eyes and ears when we couldn’t be there with Mom. And during the last few days of Mom’s life, when we were practically living there with her, Jo and the rest of the staff made sure we lacked for nothing, keeping a fully stocked cart of snacks and drinks in Mom’s room for us as we sat vigil, and often knocking to inquire what else might make us more comfortable. We give this memory care facility our highest endorsement. They exceeded all others we had experience with, not keeping their memory care patients tucked away in a locked wing like forgotten people. They are worth every cent it costs. They see their residents as people, rather than just one more rental check per month.

I am happy to recommend Peristyle. I brought my father here from Alabama in September of 2024. He suffers from dementia and Parkinson’s disease. The care he has received has been wonderful. Many of the staff members go well beyond professionalism to assist my Dad. I have gotten to know many of the staff members very well, and I know they care very much for my Dad.

Our experience at Peristyle at Beau West has been nothing but positive. Leaving my husband with Alzheimer’s in a strange place was the hardest day for me, it turned out to be the BEST day & decision for him & our family. He has thrived there, he’s a social butterfly, he’s never in his room, we have to hunt him down because he’s everywhere! He never complains to go home or about the food or staff, he loves them as much as they love him. Everyone employed at Peristyle has a heart for what they do, we as Caregivers know.its the hardest job in the world! I so appreciate everyone for the respect & kindness that’s shown to each individual, it’s not so big that they get lost in the crowd. I prayed that God would lead us to the right fit for my husband & our family & feel our prayers were answered.

My mother has had dementia for close to fifteen years and has lived here almost five years (she moved into the facility when it had a different name and different owners).We moved her here from Florida so that I could visit more easily. We have been very happy with the quality of care and attention she has received. She is content, and therefore, so am I! The staff has had to work to make sure she has clean clothes (she hangs things up rather than putting them in the laundry basket) and has succeeded in getting her to shower regularly and getting her to leave her room for activities. These are things that did not happen at her previous facility, and I am grateful to the staff for gently guiding and directing Mom to this more healthy pattern. Each resident has different needs and the staff members at Perisyle work as a team and get to know the residents and tailor their care to their individual needs. I also love the fact that there is always a nurse on site, so potential health problems can be addressed right away.

Stopped by to visit my grandma today and honestly left feeling really good about where she’s staying. The place is spotless, and everyone working there was super friendly”like actually made eye contact, smiled, and said hi. You could tell they weren’t just going through the motions. There was even someone playing live music, and the residents were so into it. Seeing their faces light up like that made me feel a lot better about not being able to care for my grandma ourselves. It really feels like she’s enjoying life there, not just being looked after.

Was visiting my grandma today and wanted to take a moment to share how clean the facility is, and every staff member who walked past said hi and smiled and it felt so genuine. The staff seem happy and that’s everything when caring for the elderly. I have entertained at The Peristyle for a of number years since they opened and have met many of the residents and their families. I find it a warm and welcoming community. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and truly care about the residents. The residents seem to enjoy the meals and the community is always kept neat and clean. The Peristyle provides numerous activities throughout the day including on many holidays and special occasions. This is the 3rd memory care facility my dad has lived in so I speak from experience. To give a bit of background, we had to leave the first memory care facility because he kept breaking out of it. The second facility had a NP who immediately started him on Seroquel and he became extremely paranoid and they just kept upping it weekly. He lasted a month there and I moved him to Beau Peristyle where he stayed 8 months before I decided to move him yet again. All was well for the first four months. After that, it seems things went downhill. One of my biggest complaints is that they only have one nurse on at a time for the entire facility! The nurses seem to be involved in EVERYTHING. They oversee caregivers, manage meds, help with showers, feedings, bedtime if caregivers are struggling with residents. They are pulled a dozen directions at once. This makes getting meds on time difficult. And taking meds on time for some of these residents is critical to their behaviors. There always seemed to be a disconnect between the nurse staff and the NP who rotated through once a week. I would make requests for home health needs like wound care and it would never happen. I would ask for my dad's legs to be wrapped to prevent seeping for swelling and it would never happen. Other facilities have nurses who only administer meds, lead caregivers to oversee caregivers, CNAs on staff as well as Directors of wellness who help with care plans. Also, the caregivers seem to be a revolving door. In the 8 months we were there, I rarely saw the same faces each time I visited. How can residents trust when they don't know the people caring for them. It can be confusing and scary. The revolving door leads me to believe there was little time for training. Finally, the laundry became such a big problem. The last 3 months we were losing clothes constantly. I had every single item marked. I had to keep buying clothes because so much was missing. So what is good: The people are friendly, the place is mostly clean and it is large for patients who like to roam. There are a lot of male residents which not something you see often in memory care facilities. They have daily activities for those who are can engage in such. Milisa, who manages all the activities, is also overworked. She and whatever nurse that is on staff that day seem to be running the show. The Executive Director was responsive to my calls and requests but she just left end of Dec 2023. Lastly, this is advertised as Assisted Living, but the residents tend to lean more towards the memory care level.

Wonderful place for my mom who has advanced dementia issues! The staff is very patient and caring, and the facility is ample in size but yet small enough in capacity to be able to provide specialized personal assistance to those who need it. Plenty of activities for residents to participate in and nice, well kept surroundings. My dad is enjoying the companion suite as it offers plenty of living and closet space. Great place for family visits due to the cozy intimate setting it offers. I would recommend The Peristyle at Beau West any day for loved ones.

My father in law has severe Alzheimer’s and this place has been incredible so far. Alaina, the office manager, went well out of her way to work with us during his initial placement. If you have a family member battling Alzheimer’s, you know exactly how complex situations can become. It has been over 3 months now, and she always makes the effort to immediately respond to every text and phone call to address any of our concerns. The nurses and staff will always call you if you have concerns that need to be addressed and you aren’t able to make an immediate visit in person. Thank you all for all that you do!

For nearly a year now, our mother is currently a resident at The Peristyle at Beau West. Since her stroke four years ago, we struggled with non-sustainable situations, to include at home with sitters and other facilities. We are very grateful for and happy with Beau West. The staff is very flexible, involved, transparent and caring, no matter who you speak with. That matters a great deal to me and our family. Our mother recently had her 87th birthday. The staff surprised her with one of the largest cakes that I’ve ever seen to include all of the residents and their families. We highly recommend this caring facility for your loved ones!

A close friend and his family were looking for a memory care/assisted living facility for their Dad. He'd become too much for them to take care of at home so they started the process of finding someplace that would take great care of him and provide a safe and clean environment. We met with the team at The Peristyle at Beau West and the team there was very accommodating and showed us around the entire facility. We were impressed with their attention to detail and the suggestions the team offered on helping his Dad make the transition easier. Alaina Hines, the Executive Director, met us upon arrival and was with us throughout the entire tour. Following the tour, she helped us to understand the requirements and related fees and made the whole thing a great experience. My father-in-law Bill Fischer lived with me and my husband for almost 12 years until I fractured my shoulder and we were forced to find a facility that could care for him. He had spent some time in other facilities recovering from different medical issues so I speak from experience. Not to mention my experiences with my own mother and the care facilities she had spent time in. Peristyle is by far the best facility I have knowledge of close to me in Mandeville. Either me or my husband visit my father-in-law everyday so I have a deep understanding of the operation. While no facility is perfect, Peristyle is as close to perfection that we have found. Melissa, the Recreational Director, is the head cheerleader and keeps the facility upbeat and moving. The front office people are always helpful and concerned about how each resident is doing. The care givers for the most part are hardworking and compassionate. Those who are not are soon removed. The cleaning and maintenance staff do a good job keeping the facility clean, repaired and fresh smelling. Which brings us to the cooks who provide three homemade meals and two snacks every single day. For all these reasons my husband and I feel like Pop Pop is in a facility that is the next best thing to home.

My quadriplegic sister has been at Beau West since May 2022. She has adjusted well and loves the staff, activities and the beauty salon! They have been very responsive to any concerns and are all extremely nice!

My Mom was here and loved it. When she passed I kept coming to volunteer and discovered how really special Peristyle at Beau West is. I recommend it 100%. Wonderful caring staff and the residence are amazing. Love this place.

My mom lived at Peristyle from 2021 until she passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 30th, 2022. Mother had moved from another assisted living community that no longer felt confident in meeting her medical and dietary needs. However, Peristyle was able to manage both effectively. Truly a relief and a blessing. There is a professionalism, pervasive cheer, and can-do attitude that is very appealing at Peristyle. The executive staff (Blake, Milisa, Alaina) set this tone each day and it is noticeable from the friendly, skillful LPN nurses through to the all important care partners’ - who do most of the hands-on care for your person. Alaina, in marketing and finance, is knowledgeable, approachable, and warm. Milisa, the amazing activity director, long ago gave her passion and heart over to the residents of Peristyle. Their quality of life really matters to Milisa, and it shows. Blake, the wellness director (and upon whom most responsibility falls) is positive, enthusiastic and extraordinarily competent. If she ever has a down day you will never know. Blake listens, cares and collaborates with families in creatively solving complex issues that can sometimes arise with dementia. She clearly has a heart for each resident but also offers understanding and empathy for family members in their caregiving roles. I visited my mom several times per week so I was an active presence. But I never felt that I was a bother - nor were my questions or concerns. My husband and I also never had to consider moving mom to a nursing home (since she still enjoyed activities) and that was very important to us. While no one will care better for your person than you, from my experience, I believe that the staff at Peristyle will become a close second.
