Making the decision to move a loved one from their home to a memory care facility is one of the most difficult to make. But after touring Mission Chateau (MC), meeting the staff and caregivers, seeing first-hand the passion and dedication to the residents mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, the decision was simple. Nearly a year has gone by and my mother is safe, thriving in her routines, loving the activities and outings, and has made some meaningful new connections. As family we are welcome and encouraged to visit anytime, and we too have developed some lifelong friendships with the residents and staff. MC has truly brought our family peace of mind and turned what once felt like helplessness into a victory for us but more importantly our amazing mom. I highly recommend Mission Chateau!

The facility is immaculate. By far our number one choice for care. While some assisted living in the area remind me of a Holiday Inn. Mission Chateau is like the JW Marriott or Four Seasons. Everyone is extremely caring, compassionate, and exudes empathy. If you ever need a tour, ask for Sheri, she is incredible and will let you answer all your questions and give you the royal treatment!

Just moved my mother in on Sunday. She is already making friends, won at Bingo, and is eating better than she has in a long time. I would highly recommend MC. They take excellent care of their Seniors. Mom needed a new towel rack and it was installed within the hour of the work order being requested. Lisa Katz and her counterpart, Sherry, have been fantastic with the move-in and answering all of our 1,000's of questions Her apartment is a spacious one bedroom with a generous kitchen I'm sure she'll never use! Thank you MC for giving me the peace of mind entrusting her to your care.

My husband has been in memory care at Mission Chateau for just a few weeks. I was very concerned that there would be some 'push back' upon his arrival. Well, I was absolutely thrilled with his reaction to his new home. The staff is so caring and attentive. The activities have pulled him in. He is participating in many of the offerings...sitting in the music offering with a gentleman playing the guitar and everyone was toe-tapping and nodding or singing along. He's gone to the movies. The food is great. His room is great. He is more engaged than I have seen him in years. Any doubts about this decision are GONE! His quality of life is far better than he had at home. There is more stimulation and he is thriving. Thank you God for Mission Chateau.

The food is very good and graciously served by well trained young staff. The internet connection is stable and rarely goes off. The individual heat and air condition works well. There are many activities offered daily and frequent workout sessions available. My wife and I are very happy here for the past seven years.

My Mom just made the decision to put her money down to get on the list for an apartment at Mission Chateau after a lot of discernment. We looked at several senior living communities in the Johnson County area but Mission Chateau definitely emerged as the top contender - not just because of the location is an area so familiar to my Mom and our family - but largely due to the loving and low-key approach Lisa Katz and the team at Mission Chateau took helping my Mom make this decision. Lisa is a pro and is clearly used to working with families who are making this decision and she made sure my Mom was in the driver’s seat the entire time. The facility is lovely, the food looks great and every staff person was just terrific and friendly. Lisa’s caring and compassionate approach helped my Mom feel good about this decision!

I have the good fortune of coming every month to Mission Chateau to do travelogue presentations, so I don't live there, but I visit many retirement communities. It is rare for me to have a genuine theatre with a large screen, and coming here is a special treat. The entire complex is top tier, and a great location. Near the entrance area is a nice living room or conversation area, and a beautiful dining room. The residents are so appreciative, and I look forward to seeing them every month.

For whatever reason, I am in my husbands email and want to post a review regarding the incredible experience I have had with Lisa Katz. I knew this was going to be a rough transition moving my mom to KS. from IL. She kept telling me and guiding me that it was going to be tough for her to adapt but would eventually love living there. Independent living at Mission Chateau has been a blessing to our family for almost 3 years. I used to be a home health nurse and visited clients in similar communities. When it came time to find a place for my own family member Mission Chateau stood out. Common areas are clean, well lit, and designed to encourage socialization. After committing to an apartment we were provided a helpful list of movers, one of which was able to help us with an out-of-state move at a very fair price. Another team from the same list unpacked and organized the new apartment. While there was some initial resistance to the move, over time my family member became more socially engaged. From the moment he arrived, the team at Mission Chateau took steps to introduce him to his new neighbors and help him feel at home. They made sure he had someone to eat with at meals, invited him to a men’s group, and asked existing neighbors to stop by to say hello. A page with his picture, interesting bullet points about his background, and contact information was added to neighbors’ binders throughout the facility. Over time, the level of thought, and effort behind operations at Mission Chateau has been consistent. A monthly schedule contains quality opportunities for outings, concerts, exercise classes, happy hour, and holiday celebrations. The ladies at the front desk pay attention and intervene when necessary, including calling me if concerns arise (special thanks to Dee Dee, Judy, and Georgeanne!). Lisa K. and Sherri O. have helped us navigate difficult level-of-care decisions (thank you!). In addition, leadership has proven kind and patient. They understand dementia-related changes, even at the subtle early stages, and have responded in ways that preserve my loved one’s dignity. Every large and complex operation occasionally encounters glitches, and Mission Chateau has been no exception. The difference is that leadership is approachable, responsive, compassionate, and flexible. I can’t imagine my family member living anywhere else.

We just placed my mother into memory care yesterday at Mission Chateau. Everyone we greeted said Welcome Betty to Mission Chateau, we are glad you will be staying with us. The first day exceeded our expectations which were already high. Not only the warm welcome, but we were very impressed with the professionalism and skill level of the team. Tanya the head nursing supervisor was very sharp and especially professional. Suzanne the activities coordinator was warm and encouraging to my mother since she has lacked socialization and much activity for a few years. We found the caregivers/nurses throughout the day were patient and respectful, even though they had to repeat their names to my mom over and over again - God bless them all for putting up with that !! After 90 years living in her own home, my mother is in a very clean, well run and personable environment that she can call her new home! Thank you Mission Chateau management, staff and ownership!

Where to start, my mom grew up in NY and lived there for 79 years. I live in Leawood and my brother and sister live in Florida. Her amazing friends in NY loved mom, but they were older than mom. Mom stated experiencing health issues and it was time to move, KS or FL. I met with Lis Katz, she gave us a tour, sat down with us and she was wonderful. It took a year to convince my mom that she needed to move. She eventually chose Mission Chateau. 18 mos. later, I am happy to report how thrilled mom is. To be clear it is not that it took 18 mos. for mom to be happy but rather, I thought it was time for me to share what a wonderful place MC is. Mom has found her Bridge friends, she loves how beautiful the place is and how they always decorate and there are always 7-9 "things" to do a day. New Years eve I have pictures of mom dancing up a storm. Thank you from the bottom of my heart; Lisa Casio, Lisa Katz, Peaches Cunningham, Georganne and Dee Dee and there are so many more, every one is so helpful. 🙂

I encouraged my Mother to move into mission Chateau, after looking at multiple retirement homes she chose Mission Chateau. From the beginning it has been an amazing experience. This incredible group of people really care about their tenants. From the top Down the positive tone of this place is set by Peaches, what an incredible leader. Lisa, Georgeanne, Judy and the rest of the team have gone above and beyond to make my Mom feel welcome. My dad moved from his home of over 60 years in MN. to a new state, city and Senior Living Community - Mission Chateau over 2 years ago.. Even at 94 years of age, not knowing anyone in KC but me (his daughter and my family), that is a scary and very big decison and move. From the very beginning of moving in to independent living at MC, my dad felt very welcomed, and comfortable by the amazing/friendly staff - from the leadership of Peaches (who makes every holiday super special for the residents) to Lisa Katz who is always so helpful and has the best smile, to Lisa the social director who is the great bartender at happy hour, to the wonderful daytime front desk ladies - Georganne, Mary Ann and Lori to the fabulous night time front desk staff Deedee and Judy, to fabulous Alicia in medical to Elisa and Chris the awesome Physical Therapists and so many more. Everyone goes out of there way to be helpful and friendly. It warms our hearts to see my dad thriving and so happy that he made the move to MC. It is beautiful, clean and the transition from his home to his place at MC was easy and smooth and he has said it was the best decison he made. My dad loves participating in many of the incredible activites MC has to offer. From Bingo to Rummikub to bridge to exercise classes, to enjoying getting fresh air on his daily works outside to saying the rosary and communion and his favorite is Thursday happy hours with music and dancing.which brings him so much joy. There a many other activiteis too. He has made many friends and at 96 he is happy and loving life, thanks to the staff and residents at MC. The food is delicious and having daily meals, his room cleaned once a week, and getting his hair cut at MC are all wonderful and convenient perks. I highly recommend Mission Chateau for anyome looking for an independent, assisted or memory care living cmmunity. Liz

We moved dad here 18 months ago after moving him from his home town of more than 60 years. He moved to a new town, new place - sight unseen!!! We were quite confident he'd love the place because it is beautiful. The pictures are good but in real life the place is incredibly well done. If it wasn't for the incredible staff, it would be 'just another place!' The team is a well oiled machine led by Lisa Katz the energizer bunny and Peaches - yup - that's her real name - the brains behind things! lol lol Dad loves the food and the activities. There is so much to do, especially on Thursdays he has to take a nap in between activities! Best of all, Dad's mental health has taken a big turn for the better. There is nothing better than social interaction and this place has it all and then some. Compared to sitting alone at his home alone under the Biden lock up for 18 months to Mission Chateau there is no comparison what is best. Besides, why wouldn't he be happy - the women to men ratio in that place is just about 20:1!!!!!

Love the location of Mission Chateau and my big apartment! I had each of the rooms painted with my choice of colors to make it the way I preferred. Everything is great! What I also like is that I have the freedom to come and go as often as I want to so my close friends come pick me up to go out to lunch and dinner quite often. I highly recommend it here!

I moved my father to Mission Chateau in March and I could not be more pleased with the transition! From the beginning every step of the process was streamlined to make it very simple to do what can be such a difficult task. The moment he arrived he smiled and said "wow this is really nice!" and now that we are several weeks in, I can already see such an amazing difference in his spirit. He doesn't stop talking about how nice everyone is and oh the food!!!! wow! Many many kudos to the entire staff for helping him find a perfectly comfortable friendly home.

St Croix Hospice provided care to a resident here and they were absolutely amazing! From the time of discharge from the hospital, Taylor Starling was so helpful. The DON at Mission Chateau was so helpful in creating a great care plan. All of the staff was wonderful to work with and our patient was very happy here.

My parents moved to Mission Chateau 3 1/2 years ago and have just recently passed. Leaving their home of 37 years was stressful for my mom, a woman who enjoyed her quite time. But it didn't take long for her to get involved in the numerous classes and activities that were offered. Much to my surprise, she ended up thriving in her new environment. They both enjoyed their spacious and cozy apartment, and felt very well taken care of. From my perspective, I couldn't imagine a better place for my parents to spend the last years of their lives. Mission Chateau feels inviting from the moment you walk in the door. It's bright, warm and very well decorated. It's clear the staff and the people that run Mission Chateau take pride in what they do, and truly care about their residents.

My family chose Mission Chateau in June 2021. We made the choice because we were impressed with the facility, the quality and breadth of opportunities for involvement, and the warm welcome that we received when visiting. The homes and common areas are gorgeous, and the restaurant and food quality are outstanding. The residents seems very happy and there is a sense of community which I have not seen elsewhere. A few months later, it was evident that Mission Chateau was the best choice we could have ever made. It has been a very difficult adjustment for my father. Because of this, I can wholeheartedly say that the staff at Mission Chateau has made all the difference. The staff has absolutely exceeded my expectations. Specifically, Denise has been amazing, consistent, communicative, kind beyond description, patient, and focused on making sure that my parents are supported and taken care of despite all of the difficulties related to adjustment-and there were (and still are!) many!! I am so grateful to her, Peaches, and the entire staff. They have been nothing short of spectacular.

We recently helped my mother-in-law, Peggy, make the big step of a move to Mission Chateau from her Mission Farms apartment. She has been there for approximately a month and the the entire experience has been wonderful. The staff has been there for Peggy every step of the way. We credit their efforts, along with Peggy’s positive attitude, for making what could have been a traumatic transition a happy one! The staff have all gone above and beyond for her. The local ownership is very present and it shows in many way. Other residents have been most welcoming. Mission Chateau is a very cheerful and fun place.

My Mom moved into Mission Chateau in May 2021, and my family is grateful for the caring attitude of the community's leadership and staff, especially Peaches Cunningham, Lisa Katz, and Matt Boody. I worked in the senior living field for 25 years, and Mission Chateau offers the most creative and delicious cuisine I have ever enjoyed in a senior living community nationwide. Chef Sergio and his team craft gourmet meals that are on par with the finest restaurants in the metro area. The range of menu options is impressive, including salmon cooked to perfection, a locally sourced beef burger on a brioche bun, four different lettuce salads, Salade Nicoise featuring fresh tuna, and a daily selection of fresh fish, to name a few. Then there are the nightly specials, such as lamb chops, veal scallopini, sea bass, Beef Wellington, smoked BBQ pork ribs, pastas, and delicate soups. The sides and veggies are well-prepared, and the portions are just right. My Mom enjoys the generous continental breakfast, as well as the Sunday brunch that offers house-made breads, a selection of meats, and more. The dining manager and the culinary team clearly care about creating memorable dining experiences for the residents, and I have been lucky enough to safely share some of these meals with my Mom. I recommend Mission Chateau to anyone who is looking for a well-managed, locally owned, and visually appealing senior living community that offers independent living apartment homes and highly rated health care services.

We moved both of our parents here when "it was time". My dad moved into the Memory Care unit and my mom took an independent living apartment. This is how we met Lisa Katz, who works in the front office. She has become a dear friend to my mom, me, and my entire family. Peach Cunningham is the owner-manager and just know your parents will be treated as her own. Without reserve, I can say everyone there is amazing. My dad died in May 2019 but my mom is still there and loves it. Listen, I get it. Nobody wants to be at the point in their life where they are "putting their parents in a home". Let's face it - if you're reading this, you're at a low point in your family's history. But save yourselves the agony of researching all the alternatives. Mission Chateau will not become just your folks' new home, but their new family, as well.

My mother moved into Mission Chateau several months ago. In choosing Mission Chateau, we loved all the choices of apartments.(spacious and bright), the activities offered, the food service available, and they even offered maid service! Then the Pandemic came. During the pandemic, I have been very impressed with the care Mission Chateau has given to following the rules set forth by the State of Kansas regarding Independent Living Facilities. Even though it meant a "new normal", the Mission Chateau staff utilized their creativity to adapt to the changes while providing the residents with a cheerful environment, socially distanced activities, and food delivered to their apartments. In addition, the staff provided the same 5-star quality service, while maintaining the safety of all the residents. The bottom line? My mom LOVES her apartment, the staff, and chatting with the other residents at Mission Chateau! As her daughter, I am THRILLED with her decision to move into Mission Chateau! "A Happy Mom makes for Happy Kids!" (I think my Mom would say it works the other way, too!)

Our family is new to Assisted Living at Mission Chateau, but so far we are very pleased with the process, the people and the environment. Valorie Peters has been terrific to work with from the moment we started looking into moving there. The Tutera family, and all of the staff, seem committed to doing everything they can for their residents. It's not something that happens in other facilities and we are grateful.

Very happy with the care and staff at Mission Chateau. Bright, cheery and clean. The residents seem happy and there are always fun activities for them to enjoy. The staff is extremely caring and kind.
