We had to move my mom to a new facility quickly as her dementia was declining. She had been at another Tuterra facility, where both she and we (her family) had been very happy with. We were so impressed immediately with Stratford Commons. Most importantly, my mom's transition has gone so well. She is happy and likes both the place (her new room and common areas) and the people. I was really expecting more issues with the transition to a new facility and it has been seamless. The food is fantastic. The activities keep her interested and engaged and the staff has been amazing with her. I do not believe we could have found a better place for my mom.

After visiting several memory care communities for my mom over two years ago, we finally decided on Stratford Commons Memory Care. Since then, we have had a great experience there. The staff showed genuine care and kindness for my mom and the other residents. The head of nursing, the director and the staff always promptly communicated with me about how my mom was doing. On my weekly visits to see my mom, daily activities (musicians, art projects, nails, etc) were consistently planned for the residents to keep them engaged. The facility itself is always clean and very attractive. When my mom passed away recently, the staff was so helpful and showed genuine compassion. Several staff members gave me hugs and shared memories of my mom, showing that they really cared for her. I highly recommend Stratford .

We recently moved my sister from another memory care facility. She seems much happier I think because there is much more to keep her busy. She is getting excellent care and Christy the director is always there and very involved. She is also very approachable. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. Im very pleased we made this move.

The entire staff is wonderful, and the level of care my father received during his time at Stratford Commons was excellent. The executive director and director of nursing are very hands on and communicative, and the daily nursing staff always has a smile and goes above and beyond to help. There's definitely a family atmosphere at Stratford Commons, and residents seem content and happy in their surroundings. I couldn't have asked for better care for a parent.

My grandpa was there for 2 years. I would not want any other place for his last two years. The staff there was very caring and motivated to take care of my grandpa. Very much recommend Stratford commons memory care!

The activities they do with the residents at SCMC are amazing. Especially some weekends when the therapy dog, Zania, gets to visit. Majority of residents absolutely love her and bring a smile to their faces. Kristi & Liz are absolutely amazing and go beyond anything I've ever seen with trying to accommodate each and every resident and family. Majority of staff is friendly and always willing to assist.

We are very pleased with the care Mom is receiving at Stratford. Alzheimer's has forced us to make to difficult decision to place Mom in a memory care facility. Mom was initially placed at another facility but it proved to be unacceptable in the level of care, cleanliness, and staffing. After visiting 5+ other memory care facilities in the area, we chose Stratford based on our tour and first impressions. The entire staff has proven to be caring and helpful and the facility is clean and well maintained. Case in point. I was pushing Mom around the hallways recently and a staff member approached and asked us how we were. Mom said she would like a hot fudge sunday. Two minutes later the same staff member is running down the hall after us with a York ice cream sandwich. That small thing is telling of the overall care the Mom is receiving.

Have a family member at Stratford Commons Memory Care for about a year. Everyone in the staff that I have interacted with has been knowledgeable and helpful. Early on I witnessed two staff members commicate with a resident. The genuine care and obvious affection they showed is a big reason to select Stratford. While on a tour a resident approached me and requested help in locating her husband. I was unsure what say. Our guide and another staff member quickly stepped in to guide the woman to dinner and share that her daughter would be visiting later. I later asked and was told the woman's husband had passed many years ago. The way the staff handled that situation with such professionalism and grace was amazing. My only other comment is I wish the had a larger parking area. Some days it is difficult. All things considered, 5 stars.

The saying goes that people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care. This sentiment is spot on for our memory care search. We were looking for a place that not only checked all the typical boxes -- personalized care - working with our family & physicians, Executive Director on staff, fitness programs, personalized activities, great food, beauty salon on-site, whirlpool, etc. - but also provided a family atmosphere that we knew when our lives were hectic, and we were unable to check in that day, our family member was still in amazing, caring hands. From the moment we met the Executive Director, Kristi Layson her professionalism and knowledge with memory care stood out. We were very impressed with her ability to not only make us feel at east -- but to feel like we had known her forever. She exudes warmth, comfort, and understanding in a very scary process. Her personalized activities, care with her patients & staff, coupled with her vast knowledge made us know that Stratford Commons Memory Cared Community was perfect for us. The wealth of memory care activities alone are inspired. It is clear that Kristi has a firm grasp on not only the business of memory care -- but the business of caring. Because of the amazing relationship we have created with Kristi, we highly, highly recommend Stratford Commons Memory Care Community. We have found friends that we call family -- what could be better than that! Thank you!

Ancient phone system and difficult to get anyone to answer incoming calls. My mother is in the rehab center so maybe its better at memory care? It seems that the staff is good and caring. Maybe could use more of them though.

My father was a resident at Stratford Commons Memory Care for almost 27 months. During that time, I visited him at least once or twice every week. Most of the nursing staff were caring, hard-working, and respectful of residents. Unfortunately, as is all too often the case in assisted living communities, staff sufficient to effectively meet residents needs were not always available. Another detrimental, but common to assisted living, problem was staff turnover, especially among supervisory personnel. For example, four or five different activity-program coordinators were on staff during my fathers residency. The meals were above average, I believe, and the one-bedroom apartments were spacious. However, I cannot really recommend this memory care community. It lacks group transportation to take residents to any outside activities. Of more particular significance, my father lost the ability to get up and walk while there, primarily because staff did not usually continue exercises begun by physical therapists after he had a fall. Finally, more than $300 worth of personal items went missing during his stay.

I feel like the crew is always available to help. One time I needed help with Dave and Cameron came running to help. Another time Alice came to help in a medical emergency when I didnt know what to do at the dinner table. Marilyn is always available to answer questions, she always reviews and needs what needs to be done. The Kitchen help is always so helpful, Derek, James. Tony and Margaret are all very accommodating!!

It is a pleasure to work with such a kind, caring, and compassionate care team who provide individualized care for our residents. It is great to see our residents having purpose each day as they participate in our small group activities. They especially enjoy spending time with Marvin our Activities Director. His passion for spending time with our residents brings many smiles!

My mom is a resident at Stratford Commons Memory Care. This is her 8th year and she is comfortable and content. This comes from a great staff that is attentive. The facility is small (47) residents—surroundings are pleasant, meals are good and healthy. Its busy with activities where Memory Care continues to develop. Little time is spent in her room. The staff is friendly. The administrative team is always close by. Im glad mom is here, she gets the best care and the family gets ‘peace of mind. We are thankful!

The staff were excellent to work with when we were looking for a memory care facility. They treat the residents very much like family. And they support the family members. They understand it isnt easy for us, the family. They encourage participation in the activities. Christmas dinner was outstanding. We felt comfortable leaving our loved one in their capable hands.

Such a great place. Very clean, and very friendly. The nurses are phenomenal and extremely nice. They actually saved my fathers life and brought him back to full recovery when another doctor said there was no hope. They have numerous activities every day. Everybody is treated like family.

We think this is the BEST Memory Care Facility in KC. The staff is phenomenal, very caring and very attuned to the needs and-or wants of the residents. Staff treats residents with respect like family members! From the Executive Director--to the nurses who carefully monitor care, to the CMAs who give the medicines, to the CNAs who assist with any daily things needed for the residents, the care is loving and superb. Stratford Commons also has Recreational Therapists who do all kinds of activities with the residents to keep them active and engaged, and, the chef-staffed kitchen --is fantastic--REALLY good food prepared in manner to add taste by herbs and spices, rather than high in sodium.
