Reviews Lawrence Presbyterian Manor
March 2026
One of a few choices in Lawrence and has a long legacy. Great location and maintained
March 2026
We have lived at Presbyterian Manor for over 9 years both in the townhouses and the main building. We love the staff and the residents. They all feel like family. I have been in the Book club, on the food committee and the residents council. We are comforted by having other levels of care available if we need them. We advise friends to move while they are able to get settled themselves and the friendships.

We are glad we chose to move our mother to nursing home care at PMMA-Lawrence. We had previously tried two assisted living facilities’ but she needed more care. Since moving to LPMMA, she is healthier and more active. She gets more supervision and medical care. We like the activities, food, and friendly care. She is checked on multiple times of the day and encouraged to join in the activities. There is a regular Sunday service. They are helpful with the paperwork and easy to ask questions.

Scope of review. The scope of this writers review is limited to the independent living department at this retirement housing complex, due to the lack of direct experience with the assisted living and nursing care departments. Financials. In order to take up residence at this facility, the writer and his spouse were required to submit a large deposit from the sale of their residential property. First, despite having to place a deposit of thousands of dollars, this writer received no legal ownership rights to any part of the facility. adding in salt to injury, this writer and his spouse forced to sign an agreement, allowing the organization to withhold 25% of the deposit in case we decide to terminate residence there. This review regards this arrangement is totally unconscionable and should be outlawed. Packaging. To add balance and perspective, however, The monthly rental, though quite expensive, Includes utilities, maintenance, and housekeeping services, and one daily meal valued at five dollars per person. We submit that even when the numbers are crunched, The monthly rental amount is severely overpriced, especially in view of the advanced deposit as described above. Building condition and maintenance. We are informed of the building is nearly 80 years old and is showing signs of age and wearing. For example, a number of apartments have experienced leakages, some of which have not been repaired, despite several attempts by the maintenance staff to do so. Residence have also been informed that the foundation continues to settle, and will be very difficult and expensive to correct. Ask for maintenance requests for individual apartments, this writer has experienced the maintenance staff to be professional, courteous, and generally quick to respond to requests for work orders. Housekeeping. This writer experiences housekeeping to be very conscientious, dependable, and very thorough. The apartment is cleaned weekly without fail. Food service. As with maintenance and housekeeping, staff, staff of the food department are very professional, cheerful, courteous, and conscientious. Errors in filling food orders occur very infrequently. Although breakfast is consistently good, midday, and evening meals very inequality. The midday and evening meals generally feature a special with a standard set of alternatives that can be ordered if one does not desire the featured special. The same is also true of certain side dishes, mostly vegetables. If this writer were to give a letter grade to the quality of food served at The Manor, a B minus seems appropriate.

We placed my grandmother here for rehab during the last stage of her life. The staff here was so good to her that she actually smiled and came out of her shell for them. When her health declined, the staff was on top of it and got her the help she needed and communicated with us every step of the way. Some of her staff favorites were Ursula, Vanilla, Izaiah, Tyler, Gretchen, and Brealyn! Thank you guys for providing so much comfort to the woman we care so much about!
February 2026
My sister spent her last few weeks here at Presbyterian Manor. Ursula, the social worker, and the rest of my sister’s caregivers, provided Excellent care, keeping my sister comfortable & checking in with my sister’s & I to see how we are doing, knowing that this is a difficult time. Everyone here is Amazing!! I’m very Thankful for each & everyone of you!!!!
February 2026
My younger sister was living by herself in her apartment, but her health problems caused her to be nervous and scared to live alone. I started researching nursing homes and Lawrence Presbyterian Manor was recommended to me. I met with the social worker, Ursula, and she helped me with all the paperwork and questions that I had. I was concerned for my sister, and Ursula helped reassure me through the process. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful and I no longer have to worry about my sister's safety and her health. My sister is adjusting to her life there very well, and I owe that all to the care and helpfulness of all of the staff at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. I would highly recommend them to everyone needing assistance for their loved ones.

I have a relative living on the skilled nursing level in Lawrence. The staff treat him as family, and he has become his 2nd family. It is such a comfort knowing he is cared for so well. They great him when he comes in and miss him when he is gone. He can’t see their faces smiles on their faces as they greet him, but it is so genuine and universal. As an autistic, blind man his needs are unique but they’ve gone out of their way to accommodate them. I can’t say enough about this staff that cares so deeply. A special shoutout to Gabriel who is so very special. Thank you
February 2026
My mother was admitted here after hip surgery due to a fall. She was quite elderly and had a some underlying health problems. During that 2 weeks the staff, no matter what their position, treated her with unfailing dignity and respect. The skilled nursing floor was clean, as were all the patients that I saw in the hallways. There was no evidence of the usual chaos and noise that is found in many skilled nursing facilities. I was also impressed that much of the staff were young people who either had completed their training (such as OT and PT) or were interested in furthering their education. My mother was very well cared for and loved here and I would not hesitate to recommend this facility.
February 2026
Provide great care to my elderly parent. Staff are wonderful and really helpful with the entire process. I very much appreciate the social worker Ursula, who has answered all of my questions and keeps me up to date on my mother’s care.
February 2026
My mother has been at Presbyterian Manor for over a year and has received wonderful care. The staff there is very polite and helpful with seeing to my mother's needs and the facility is always well kept. I am pleased that we made the choice to bring my mother to Presbyterian Manor and would highly recommend them.

We have lived in our LPM Town Home for over 25 years. We continue to be very pleased. We have congenial folks as neighbors and friends, with whom we share in the multitude of activities available for our enjoyment, some organized by we residents and others by the Manor Administration. My husband and I look forward to staying right here for the rest of our lives.
February 2026
Our experience with Presbyterian Manor has been excellent. Such a caring and attentive staff! Always going above and beyond providing wonderful care and support.
February 2026
From the moment we met with Ursula, the social worker, and all the staff members involved in our situation ,we received unbelievable care and support. They took wonderful care of our sister, and helped us walk through a difficult time. I’m so thankful we were able to have her placed at Presbyterian Manor.
February 2026
Staff has kept in touch with me on my cousin's condition & concerns. The room is very comfortable & spacious. He has had trouble adjusting to being in a nursing home but the staff are friendly & treat my cousin very well. I'm very grateful for the service they provide.
February 2026
staff are veriy caring and take time to talk with residents and learn their likes/dislikes. Families are always kept in the loop of any issues and don't ever hesitate to call
February 2026
We got on the list to give us options for my very disabled sister. When the opportunity presented, we didn't hesitate. From the very beginning the staff was kind, helpful, so friendly and obviously dialed it to each of their respective responsibilities. Their Social Worker, Ursula, beyond belief in her care and accommodation. Amy, DON, outstanding. I can, by name, praise the care-givers, from transportation, housekeeping, dietary, to all personnel who provide the day-to-day care. We are so very pleased, as is my sister, and appreciate the privilege of being at Presbyterian Manor. I am delighted to share our experience and wish PM continued legacy and success in Lawrence.
February 2026
Staff is courteous . Food is good. Room is cleaned daily. Therapists are great to work with.
February 2026
I wouldn’t live anywhere else. I have wonderful neighbors and the staff is great.
February 2026
My wife and I lived in one of their townhomes. Very attractive & roomy. When my wife needed total health care because of her dementia we moved her to health care floor. They were very professional & compassionate in caring for my wife. I’m very glad we chose the Presbyterian Manor for our senior living.

My mother lives at Lawrence Presbyterian and I can’t tell you how well they take care of her. She can be a handful and they have so much patience with her and even she knows it. They take time and include her in special activities to relieve her antisocial disposition but in a way that is just so sweet and meets her needs.
December 2023
My mother is a resident at the Lawrence PPM and I couldn’t trust anyone more than this facility and staff! The way the staff spoils her and the care they give her is more than I could ever hope to have for my mother. Bless all of them.
December 2023
Very nice facility, great staff, they do a wonderful job taking care of our mother!

I love Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. The residents are all so friendly and i feel welcome every time i visit. The community is beautiful and very clean! The staff has been very helpful to myself and other visitors i know.
September 2018
No communication between staff. Soiled with feces clothing left in bathroom and clothes bucket for 3 days. No battery or dead batteries in hearing aids when pointed out I waited 1 1/h then asked someone els not the first time this has happened. Waited 20 min after call button was pushed for a trip to restroom. Finally did it myself. Bun, regular water, and regular cofee while waiting on swallow study. Suppose to have necture and no bread. Some staff will "discipline" a patient in a stern voice as if talking to a child. My loved one fell and broke her tailbone and arm. Legs left down while in room. My loved one has pitting edema and needs elevation. Some staff know these things others don't bc they aren't recorded in nursing notes. The biggest problems are lack of staff and no communication between staff. My loved one has only been there for 6 weeks and trying to get her out ASAP.
