We found this place for my father, who unfortunately took a turn for the worse and needed more care that Meadowlark could reasonably provide. However, the staff there is extremely friendly and helpful. Not a single resident had anything negative to say about it. When the time comes, that's exactly where we are going to place ourselves! They are reasonably priced for what you get, and they are clean and the apartments are beautiful. The amenities available will impress anyone, and the food is fantastic! You can't find a better independent living facility in Lawrence!

My mother spent her final weeks here and grandmother, her final months. I have nothing but positive things to say about every aspect of the facility and the staff. The food is delicious. I found myself excited to eat lunch with her any chance I got. The activities, the support from fellow staff and residents, everything. If you LOVE your loved ones, even if they may not have much time left, consider Meadowlark. I am forever grateful for the compassion, comfort, and care they have always shown. It's hard to find a place that cares so deeply for our elderly these days. This facility is unmatched. She made it just past her 101st birthday.

After one month, I am very happy with the experience my mom has had at Meadowlark. The staff answers all our questions promptly and are happy to accommodate any adjustments to make things easier for my mom. Outstanding meals and fun activities that my mom was hesitant about, but now looks forward to, have made all the difference. The social time at meals is priceless, and my mom is enjoying the company more than we anticipated. My mom feels safe and happy, and pampered, like she lives in a luxurious hotel! My grandpa moved into this facility recently and he loves it! Moving to a new place was a little hard but after getting a tour and being invited to all the activities while waiting on a decision made his choice so much easier! Andrea has gone above and beyond to make him feel at home and I know she is a major reason why he chose this place over all the others. Meadowlark is TOP tier and is such a beautiful place! I have been delighted to live here for the last 2-1/2 months. The facility is spacious, clean and well maintained. The best part of being here is the staff. They are always friendly and helpful. The training and performance of the wait staff is truly jaw-dropping. They take individual orders from the diners and accommodate with a smile any possible menu alterations requested. The friendliness of the staff is mirrored by the residents. The relationships have developed into an atmosphere where the residents appear to enjoy their lives and care about one another. I would definitely recommend Meadowlark to anyone 55+ who is seeking a stress-free living experience with plenty of activities throughout the week and scheduled transportation for special events, appointments or just shopping.

Moved my in-laws there about 6 months ago, both about 90 yrs old. Can't say enough good things about the place and people who manage it. Decent prices, beautiful facility, clean & well-kept, bright & open with lots of natural light, tastefully decorated, great food, lots of practical amenities, great activities for social engagement and exercise, and over all of that Richard & Carol and Bob & Heidi are fully engaged, caring managers. The staff are consistently well-trained, friendly and interactive with both residents and guests, and genuinely caring and respectful. They want the living experience there to be positive, and it certainly has been for my in-laws. The experience of working with Richard and Carol and the staff there has been equally positive. We're so grateful for this facility and its caring staff!

My parents have so many great things to say about this place after almost 5 months here. That means A LOT coming from two people who had to transition from 63 years together on the farm. They love how light and bright the decor is in both their apt and the shared spaces (fresh paint and carpet, BIG windows in every room, wide hallways for walkers, beautiful and comfy furnishings in shared spaces). They are deeply appreciative of how much the directors Richard and Carol, along with Bob and Heide, are committed to the perspective This is your home, and not You are our tenants, and care about making a consistent, reliable space for all while remaining flexible to feedback and residents’ individual needs. My folks have also been impressed with the cheerful care and hard work ethics of every single employee they interact with. Impressing my parents with your character and work ethic is no small feat. Our whole family is grateful for all the ways Meadowlark has welcomed them to their new home.

Mom loved living there, from the amazing staff, beautiful building and grounds, great food, and worry-free lifestyle, her experience was outstanding. If I could give Meadowlark Estates 10 STARS, I would! My father lived at Meadowlark Estates for several years. The facility is bright and cheery and the staff are amazing. They go out of their way to make their residents feel at home and they were like family to not only my dad but to myself as well! They encourage residents to interact and engage in activities and you couldn't ask for better amenities like the hair salon, laundry, theater, game room, etc. My dad's situation recently changed and he needed more long term care or I'm sure he would have lived out his remaining years at Meadowlark! If you are looking for a great place to live for yourself or a family member, I encourage you to check out Meadowlark Estates...you will not be disappointed. Thank you Bill, Kim, Carol, and Richard for all you do for your residents! You will be missed by my dad and by me as I move him into the next chapter of his life.

Meadowlark has been the BEST place for my parents! They experienced a powerful sense of FAMILY there and I would recommend it very highly to anyone looking for a warm and caring home atmosphere for their parents. Richard and Carol are gracious and professional managers who demonstrated great patience and understanding with their aging dog and deep compassion as my parents' health began to decline. My dad's Alzheimer's diagnosis was the only reason they had to leave. And it was a very tearful goodbye, as so many meaningful friendships had been established over the 3 years they lived there. I cannot recommend Meadowlark in Lawrence, KS highly enough!

My parents moved to Meadowlark in June 2019. Both were 91. After a month there, they both commented they should have moved earlier. The atmosphere is friendly, the food is good, activities are plentiful, and the hospitality is outstanding. Richard, Carol, Bill, and Kim including all of the staff do a wonderful job of running and managing the complex and go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. Not only that, but everyone looks out for one another so it's kinda like a big family. I highly recommend Meadowlark Estates as a place you could call your retirement home.

I highly recommend Meadowlark Estates. My mother lived there for 3 years. She had previously been living in an assisted living facility but received better care at Meadowlark for a lower cost and had a higher quality of life. The staff at Meadowlark are awesome! Everyone (managers, housekeeping staff, salon staff) are very attentive, warm and caring. They go out of their way to help residents and make sure residents are getting their needs met. Many times a manager went to my mother's room in the evening to help her work her tv remote control, change a battery or adjust the thermostat. If mom didn't show up for a meal they would check on her. I can't say enough about how kind all the staff were to my mother. As her dementia progressed I was able to hire Keep Living At Home nurses aides to do 15 minute checks on mom, and have them assist with personal care so that mom was essentially getting assisted living care but able to stay at Meadowlark where she was also able to enjoy the many activities, outings and great social life that is offered. When my mom needed radiation, they provided transportation every day for this and the driver walked her into the office (she has dementia and couldn't just be dropped off). Meadowlark is truly a place where one can age in place. There are residents who are healthy and seem to enjoy the vibrant social life as well as residents who have medical problems or memory problems and benefit from having meals cooked for them and weekly housekeeping. I would highly recommend Meadowlark Estates.

My mom has lived at Meadowlark Estates for two years. I would urge anybody who is searching for a place for an elderly parent to take a look at Meadowlark. The thing that immediately stands out is the streamlined and deeply invested management structure. At Meadowlark, you have four managers who actually live in apartments at Meadowlark, and there are always two managers on duty 24 hours. That means if your mom or dad needs help in the middle of the night, a manager will respond. And they do respond. I know that first hand. If you have any question at all, there is always a manager available, and the current four managers are wonderful. They know their residents because they live with them, and they know how important it is to support the families too. Also, if you need to hire extra help, there is an excellent local company (Keep Living At Home) with a strong presence in the building, and they can provide a team of excellent professionals. Another really nice part of the Meadowlark community is the way all the employees embrace the residents with respect and kindness. The employees who serve the meals also clean the apartments, so they get to know everybody and never fail to extend a greeting. Likewise, the maintenance man does more than just fix everything in the building -- he takes the time to chat and laugh with residents and he knows them all by name. Look around. I did. But be sure to check out Meadowlark.
