My mother has been in independent living for almost 2 years. The staff, management , therapy, activities director are all top notch! The facility is clean, rooms are maintained making it a wonderful place to live. Great neighborhood feeling!

Dropped in to see if Brandon Woods would be a place for my mother-in-law. Was greeted by Donna as I walked in. She was very pleasant and welcoming. She invited me to take a look around with her sales person. I was impressed with the facility. The people there, all looked happy. I was invited back to bring my mother-in-law in to see if she would like to live there.

I visited Brandon Woods over Thanksgiving, it is welcoming and clean with many areas for the tenants to spend time- the library had a great variety of books. The movie room was comfortable and fun, a great place to watch a KU game or a movie. The apartments are built to accommodate special needs while being very well maintained by the staff and pretty. It is an impressive facility and I recommend it.

I work in healthcare and visit patients that live at Brandonwoods. I am constantly amazed at the genuine, individualized care that every resident receives, no matter which area they live. The directors are on the floor every day and know each resident well, and care about each and every one. The facility itself is beautiful and clean. I love going there, and I actually told my husband this morning that when we get older, we are DEFINITELY going to live at Brandonwoods!!!! ❤️

My Mom & Dad chose to live at Brandon Woods as they had heard so many good things over the years they lived in Lawrence before that. They lived in a Brandon Woods town home for a while and really enjoyed their experience there. Then when my Dad became very ill, Brandon Woods took as good care of him as they could through COVID. My Mom moved to an apartment and continued to enjoy many aspects about living there - the food, PT on site, Fit For Life exercises, book club, sing along music on Fridays, holiday parties and other excuses to get the residents together! She speaks highly of everyone from the dining hall staff to the activities coordinator, to the gal at the front desk, to the ease of use of the transportation services to the people in charge who go above and beyond to make her stay not just comfortable but "home". I am glad they did their research! They were right! Brandon Woods is/was a great place for my parents and so many others.

Both of my parents have Alzheimer’s. They have been in the Townhomes, to the independent living apartments, and now to assisted living. Every step of the way I have had amazing communication with the management and the staff. My parents have been treated with respect and dignity. I have had amazing direct communication with the staff. I have felt like the care team genuinely cares for my parents and they are very prompt at responding to my concerns. The apartments have been updated and are beautiful. The grounds around Brandonwoods are beautiful and well maintained. There is plenty of waking paths for my parents to get outside and enjoy the green space. I would highly recommend Brandonwoods!!!

My mom lived at Brandon Woods nursing area called Brandon Woods South. It wasnt always perfect because honestly, I dont think the corporation that owns the facility pays enough to keep ample staff. That being said, the staff who was there did a very difficult job with patience, skill and love. They are like teachers, working directly with the patients, not getting paid enough for the important jobs they do. The doctor who is on staff doesnt communicate with family at all and we witnessed this when my mom had issues with her seizure medication that had a profound impact on her. But the staff working daily with the patients were absolutely wonderful. The kitchen staff, the cleaning lady, laundry staff and the nurses and aides were awesome. Wendy, Sally, Stella and Gladys worked with my mom closely and cared about her very much. Thank you so much ladies. You dont know how much that means to us. Im rating Brandon Woods with 4 stars because of the people who work there. They are kind and loving and Id take that over a more fancy place without those type of people on staff. Thank you all for your fine care of my mom.

Staff is caring and very respectful, un troubled by wandering patients, their unusual questions and disrespectful comments. Nurses especially are constantly searching for patients to do daily test and meds. The Phusical Therapists encourage openly and ecpect a little more each session....

my parents moved to Brandon Woods in 2013, and they enjoyed several years of living there together before my dad passed away. Mom is still there and thriving! She has joined a senior citizens choir, and Brandon Woods provides transport. They take her to medical appointments as well as the KU Osher classes she enjoys. The dining room has a varied menu so there are always plentiful choices. I am especially grateful to the nurses who checked in with her regularly after my dad died. She struggled, and Im grateful for the kindness of the staff.

My FIL moved to a 1 BR independent living apartment at Brandon Woods 112017. He is unbelievably happy there and is beginning to thrive again as he has access to wonderful people, new friends and food that he loves. He has put on much needed weight and simply loves his apartment, friends he has made, access to transportation services and all of the activities that are available. Any email or phone call Ive made to BW staffadministrators has been promptly responded to. He has accidentally set off his personal monitoring system and staff has been at his door or called him within minutes to check on him. We visit him often and without notice. Any time we have been there, the facilities are clean, smell good and residents seem to be well-cared for. So thankful to have found his new home.
